EASY Dill Pickles | Crisp Pickles | Summer Canning

Today, we are making Dill Pickles from our homegrown cucumbers. We had about 18 lbs of cucumbers that we had pick over a few days and decided we wanted to make Canned Dill Pickles. We share the process from start to finish.

***DILL PICKLE RECIPE 1 QUART***
1/2 lb Cucumbers (5 to 6 small cucumbers)
2 Tbs Dill Seed or 4 heads fresh dill
1/2 tsp Mustard Seed (optional)
1 clove of Garlic
1/4 tsp Pickling Crisp
Peppers for spice (optional)
Pack quart jar with cucumbers and seasoning.
In a pot, boil together:
2 1/4 cups Water
3/4 cup Vinegar
1 Tbs Pickling Salt
Poor over cucumbers and spices, leaving 1/2 in headspace. Clean jar rim and add lid. Process in a water-bath for 15 minutes. Let the pickles sit for one week before opening.
