All I skate are cons, they have the best board feel ever, the toe cap gives me so much durability because a lot of my flick comes from my toes, I love the look of them, they're surprisingly good at taking impact (I mean that for the non zoom air insoles, the zoom air insole just isn't it for me), I never wear through the bottom, and if you size down half a size they're super comfortable, I've never tried the Cons Cats Pro SJO but I encourage you to at least try a pair of classic chuck taylor Pros (The CTAS pro).
the only thing most vans and cons have is boardfeel, all other aspects suck. I hate how the sole is not "even" on the board, it doesn't feel stable. If you skate bruins or blazers everything feels like doo doo after that
the only reason why people skate cons or vans is style and skaters are sheep, everyone thinks they are the sht skating cons and vans cause thats whats trendy.
nothing against people who like these, but I never understood how people could SKATE these, they look so thin and flimsy to me... but maybe that's just personal preference
I agree. But same goes for the regular Vans Pro vulcanized shoes IMHO. Most of those are super thin too and often cut so low around the ankles, feels too thin to me.
Ngl i started skating cons because of Sean Pablo, but I kept skating them because they give me total control over my board thanks to how thin and snug they are
@@moacirg.dsratliff1244 I tried to find his adidas Liberty Cup review and couldn't it. I admit I didn't search that long, but I saw that he DID review the adidas City Cups. Are you sure you're not talking about the City Cups vs. the Liberty Cups?
I've been real curious about the Emerica Pillar. As much as I want to like the CTAS Pro they just look too flimsy, like they just slapped a suede patch on regular ones. And my last regular pair was killing me toward the end any time I put pressure on the side so I can't even imagine skating something like that. I wish they'd redesign them to have more similar construction to the One Stars, I would skate those permanently.
I wear these in lo suede and I actually love them. They are of a considerable higher build then the typical Chuck Taylor. If you’re a skater and have wider feet these are one of the only options out there... sucks but true.
That's one of my FAVORITE shoes. Like, literally! Love the way they feel, love how thin and good they are and love the way they look and love the flick I get with the huge rubber toecap. Maybe if you've got the right size (usually half or even a full size smaller) it should be great. I always throw my FP insoles in all my shoes, so I don't feel bruises
i skate the regular non pro skate version of the cons hightop, i slapped shoe goo bc it is a canvas shoe, and i have them size 9, im usually a size 10 in vans. and i think that its the best shoe ive ever skated personally, i have a somewhat wide foot for how skinny i am and i can slip the shoe on and off just fine and its honestly the shoe i feel ive progressed the most in
I got me some leather and suede converse cons for 30 dollars at an outlet. The leather ones actually does offer more protection in my opinion. Specially around the ankles, I wear high tops. I probably would go with canvas, but I longboarding and I’m not ripping my board hard.
You should try out and skate the converse 70s it's a higher quality of the normal chucks but I just use them to skate and they are nice. They run big so I get a half down from my regular size
Its definitely a preference thing. Where i live, there's a handful of dudes that skate these or shoes like these all the time. Then there's me, i refuse to do any more thin low tops out of fear for more ankle injuries.
Converse sizing is always all over the place, and none of them fit true to size - I'm a 10.5 in almost every shoe brand, but converse I'm somewhere between a 9 and a 10 depending on the model. the normal chuck taylor fits differently than the chuck 70 too. the one star fits closer to the 70, but it's still weird.
@@blackbartsimps0n560 I don't understand what you're saying - sizing shouldn't change between UK and US sizing. Across my Nike, adidas, Saucony, and New Balances, a US Men's 10.5 is a UK9.5. Converse's sizing is just wrong

You should do a video on the ES swift 1.5s! Ive skated them for my past two pairs of shoes and freaking love them! I feel like it would be a show that you'd like based off of what you've said in past shoe reviews.
Good review as always!😎💪👍🙌🤟✌ I don't skate with Chucks anymore, it's like an injury waiting to happen. I've used Footprint insoles in em just to be safe but still I gave up easily on this. They run big so go half size down as well.
A week ago I found a pair of the regular ones for $6 at a thrift store, glued on a suede patch for the ollie area and changed the insole and so far I like them. They are indeed extremely thin but I've always worn thin shoes so far so I'm used to it, and are in way better condition compared to my previous shoe. Eventually I do want to try a thick cupsole for a change. Which ones would be recommendable? I've been looking over a pair of eS for a while now but broke me and my size not being available lol
Going to a cupsole is going to feel extremely different for a while especially coming from regular cons, I know some people that skate the Kyle Walker vans because they're a cupsole and vulc hybrid shoe so it was a little easier to get used to and they still have good board feel, but everyone I know that skates chunky shoes is on the DC wave right now
I switched recently from a DVS cupsole to a Nike SB vulc and I feel the same way, I can't believe how people jump down big shit in skinny flimsy shoes, it's going to fuck up the heels, ankles, knees and waist. Also, Converse is full of shit, this is not the first time they just throw a lil insole and maybe some suede and call it a "skate version"
