  • Silversun Pickups Surrounded (Or Spiraling)
Remember when you were the hunted.
Remember how I swallowed you in.
Remember the rewards shimmering on the floor
    off the plastic chandelier.
Remember when I saw you in orbit.
Remember when I pulled you back in.
Remember looking on breaking into the dawn
thinking how this will never end.
Surrounded. Let's romanticize our beloved memories.
Surrounded. Let's demonize our softest injuries.
Surrounded. Can we get behind distortion and liberties.
    Surrounded. We're surrounded, spiraling.
    Remember when I played assassin.
Remember when my joking turned grim.
Remember how we thought if we follow the dots
it would stop all the accidents.
Remember when you broke my halo.
Remember how I tied your wings in.
Remember how we slipped all the lies we equipped
just to bring back the goods again.
Surrounded. Let's romanticize our beloved memories.
Surrounded. Let's demonize our softest injuries.
Surrounded. Can we get behind distortion and liberties.
    Surrounded. We're surrounded, spiraling.
Is it perfect in our little hell?
Are you dancing, or stumbling beside me?
    Well this might not be.
    We'll just wait and see.
So now that we've stopped hearing echoes.
And now that the replay wore thin.
Just remember who held you. Remember who held you.
Remember who held you. Remember who held you.
Surrounded. Let's romanticize our beloved memories.
Surrounded. Let's demonize our softest injuries.
Surrounded. Can we get behind distortion and liberties.
    Surrounded. We're surrounded, spiraling.
Is it perfect in our little hell?

You did it again! For my youngest daughter whom was terribly fooled by a much older man and trapped. At 19 she could not see a complete different world without him, and it destroyed her.
mom of three beautiful people. Its just that my two youngest are giving those who have Blessed and guided my life a much needed rest. Now, they watch over me, their sister and niece.

i like the swoon album, and i like that their music is maturing and changing just as they are, but I miss the more chilled out, mellow-sounding pickups. swoon is much more heavily rock influenced than the pikul EP and Carnavas (which both hold a special place in my heart), not this song particularly, but the rest of it. their big label is trying to change their sound a bit :( but i love sspu. why did i just type all of that, idek im pretty high, thank you silversun pickups.

      @joesaiditstrue 5 лет назад +1

Jake Parrott agreed. Pikul was my favorite record by them, it was just so raw and felt like that mastering process kept its filthy hands off of it, not saying Carnavas sounded overly produced, but Swoon kinda did, and Better Nature sounds crazily over produced :(

Well it's like comparing rubies to emeralds. Both are beautiful, rare gems but neither can really be called bad.

How can this song, SSPU's BEST, not have a single live video up? What gives? Do they just not play it live?

@Afireinside912 That's how his lyrics were supposed to seem like, Cobain said that you have to look deep into the lyrics to actually get the meanings

useful76 right!!! These people live and love music. it shows. they jam so purely. Truth be told, they're one of the only bands I've ever supported. I actually rocked a Silversun Pickups clear sticker that I got off a CD cover on my old Mustang. The only sticker I ever put on that car. EVER! it was small but powerful.

The chorus chord progression and specially the breakdown at (3:37) sounds just like the Smashing Pumpkins song "Starz" from Zeitgeist.
But this one sounds better though, I hate the way Zeitgeist was mixed. haha

@TheVsed This is the only monotonous song by them, and some people just think it sounds good. They certainly have a lot of musical talent, look at some other songs.

  • @rohiogerv22
    @rohiogerv22 14 лет назад

That's a lot of opinion. I personally think Billy Corgan's themes are far more coherent and connect with his work farther more. However, I appreciate Aubert's novelty. Everything in SSPU feels totally fresh, even when not on target. I feel a lot out of both. I wouldn't be watching a SSPU video if I didn't like them, but there are aspects where I think SP is better.
