@@vladiinsky - but is effective. Aerosols do not get projected by blowing through an instrument, as studies have shown. But can from expelling air around a mouthpiece (avoiding hyperventilation when the instrument has great natural resistance) or talking in rests or breaks. I'm set to play a concert in November and will try practicing bass trombone using a double mask system. 1 underneath with a slit for the mouthpiece and one pulled down to play and pull up in longer rests or when I need to talk.
Genius solution with the masks. I'm a bass trombone player and will try this here at home before going to my next rehearsal, which (being actually retired) will be in a couple months. Oh and as usual, LOVELY playing!!
I was going to ask -- why are they playing this at high pitch instead of the usual Baroque-instrument pitch of A = ca. 415 hz? But I look more carefully and I realize -- this isn't really Collegium 1704 playing, is it? This is the Czech Philharmonic playing.
Of course it is C1704. This is part of a charity concert where we performed together with CzechPhil. But the Brandenburg concert was played by C1704 and the violin solo on violin by the CzechPhil. ex-concermaster of Czech Philharmonic Josef Špaček. - therefore 440Hz.
@Alcina Actually, I think this may be the Czech Philharmonic, not Luks's usual Collegium 1704 players. Certainly the violin soloists is the Czech Philharmonic's concertmaster.
No it doesn't. It looks like they care about each other. If anything, the masks, the distancing and the empty theatre only adds more drama to the performance, an anchor into the present we all live in.
Best interpretation on RUclips so far!
Tak v tomto případě se spojily dvě věci, které miluju - jednak Collegium 1704 a tento konkrétní braniborský koncert; Václave Luksi, moc a moc děkuju!
Brilliant and sensitive performance. 1704 is often stunning in their energy and insights.
This ensemble is amazing! More Brandenburgs, please! And anything else you care to record and share. You make my life complete!
Excellent presentation of this masterpiece. Thanks to the Collegium 1704 ensemble and the violin soloist for a great performance!
Fantastic performance!!
Magnífico concierto. Gran esfuerzo por parte de los instrumentistas de viento. Ha sido un gran regalo, gracias
I was actually wondering how to play the recorder with the surgical mask! :D
Yeah... Looks ridiculous.

Magnifique interprétation très aérée malgré les contraintes

Bellísimo...
Belíssimo concerto!
The Music against the corona vírus!!
RJ- Brasil
The phrasing!
Is the violin soloist the ex-concertmaster of the Czech Phil? Can't tell with the mask on. Sounds great, looks very silly.
Yes, it's Josef Špaček.

schaurig mit den Rotztücheln vor den Gesichtern. Ich kann gar nicht hören, wie großartig musiziert wird, bei diesen furchtbaren Bildern.
1704 coronavirus
Sollen diese Masken für Bläser hygienisch sein? Die Dresdner Staatskapelle spielt völlig ohne Mundschutz.
This looks ridiculous.
