We can make airport at at Shankarpur ,Janki Nagar if we need .There is a huge governmental land, No need to chop trees,no need to pay to acquire land .Or, Terai's land value are cheaper so Government can buy anywhere and construct airport .Yes, Nijgadh airport project is a plot of corruption .
We can plant variety of trees but we cannot create eco system . It takes 200 years to achieve the ecosystem we have now .

Transport engineer here, just because you have land doesn't mean you can construct an airport there. There are so many variables that you need to consider. I think the first thing we need to do now is perform a detailed study about the nijgadh airport, including an EIA.

They are offended by every development project and they give this type of show talking about environmental issue while living in a big house with big air conditioner, big fridge and flying around the world which have more impact in environment. Not every airport project are successful.Check Spain Ciudad airport failure.Although the difference is, Nijgadh is government .Will tourism and export really increase? Can Nepal operate those costly operating charges of 4 international airport in the long run? Will airlines fail like Kingfisher due to high operating cost? I think you should call airline experts not animal activist,economist,etc.They only have opinion not facts.

Hypocrisy at its best, Shah & Rana built Palace by selling trees to east india company railroad network system of course our soldiers, why should not Nepal an international standard airport that can possibly be a transit for many international flights, like her forefathers did to its people does she want Nepali youths died in foreign land to earn bloody peanuts, does our tourism need to rely on budget travellers who later begs/busk in street fly back home. National planning committee had conducted a study to select the best place to construct an international airport and it had shortlisted 4 places. Out of those 4 places nijgadh was the most feasible in terms of connectivity, access to international airspace and at the same time caused minimum environmental degradation.
No, there were 7 places among which Pokhara and Bhairahawa were also included. While without feasibility report Nijgadh was stated to be the most appropriate region, there are no documents that state why other areas are not feasible. So she is speaking the truth when she says there were no research carried out efficiently.
