Detroit streets aren't that active overall like Nola and many eastern cities. A lot of the area in Detroit is abandoned. Most of the violent crimes are drug related, and most crime happens out of view. In places like Nola you see tons of activity and crimes happening in front of you. I would say day to day for the average person on the street, Nola is worse, but if you in that drugs/street lifestyle Detroit probably worse. But they both bad as hell and their ain't no big difference lol. Both have led the country in murders and violent crimes over the years and continue to be among the top in violent crime categories.

New orleans is lower subtropics, and its low in elevation, which makes it prone to flooding, and thats why it looks more run down. Detroit is and older city than new orleans, but it doesnt seem that way because they had a major fire that destroyed most of the city in the 19th century. Poverty is somewhat a state of mind, and what makes a city tough individually goes beyond just the structure and living conditions of a city. You can take two individuals from detriot and new orleans and put both in worse conditions and either both may not persevere, or maybe both will persevere, or just one will. Also toughness is not just using guns, but able to stay strong no matter the situation. Fighting sports, football players, notable leaders in history and so will show you they come from all different backgrounds. Yeah living in ridden areas of crime tends to develop thick skin, but its not the only factor that determines ones destiny of being a strong individual. The structure of a city does not show how rough it is. Its no different from people born in tribes living in woods. They are happy with what they have because thats all they know, but for and average individual "even in what we call slums." Most people would have a hard time surviving, because its a lot different from robbing people or selling narcotics made by other people. Theres no crabs in a bucket mentality when you live in a tribe. Successful people come from poverty, and if their mind is right yes they have a better chance of succeeding than someone raised middle class, but even thats not always the case.

Once again this is just a bad neighborhood in Detroit. You'd be a damn fool to think the whole city is like this. Most Detroiters care about their homes and communities. I love how Charlie has a ton of videos of trash, bums and burned houses and a very small number of videos showing nice houses, mansions and more. (Rosedale Park, Sherwood Forest. Palmer Park etc.) But good job anyhow!
