Robert Plant - lead singer (one of the best voices in rock)
Jimmy Page - Guitar (one of the greatest guitarists in rock)
John Bonham - Drums (usually considered THE greatest drummer in rock)
John Paul Jones - Bass, organ, piano, mandolin ... other stuff. Probably the best overall musician in the group. Considered Zeppelin's secret weapon.

jarhead4ever1 Zep 3 was the first 8 track that my Brother and I literally wore out. When the levee breaks is a phenomenal remake of a 1927 blues duo song about the devestating flood of the same year that decimated 7 states. I believe it's by Memphis Milliy and Topeka Joe. Check out the history of the song Gallows Pole. It goes back to I think the 15 century in poetry form and numerous reinventions since then. I was watching a 1950s western and I saw a "Spanish " women playing guitar and singing Gallows Pole. I was like say what! So I researched ita few years ago and that's how I found out. I love the New Animals. ..uh I mean LZ. The second 8 track we wore out was Ten Years After a space in time. Check out the above info. You'll be duly enriched! 60's and 70s was great time to grow up musically. Peace, love and hope.

I thought he’d not mention the organ. John Paul Jones adds a real wistfulness to the song, almost without notice.

Imagine them memorizing all that music and playing it at concerts. Very complicated and intricate, damn!!!!!

This song is a work of art. Jimmy Page on guitar, one of the greatest guitar players ever, Robert Plant's vocals, one of the best and unique rock vocals, John Paul Jones, the outstanding best bass player, and the great John Bonham on Drums, one of the greatest drum players ever, no other band compares to these masters.

@Riley Martin from 69-73 he was far and away the best live guitarist in the world. How the west was won is a good measure, for example. Or the song remains the same soundtrack.

This is probably my favorite Zeppelin song, and that's saying a lot. On the original recording, if you listen carefully and you know it's there, you can hear an unmistakable *"sqeeek"* just before each kick drum hit... John Bonham's kick pedal squeaked and they picked it up in the recording. I can't really hear it in this video, so either the fidelity is low or they've since fixed it in one of the remasters (or my old ears can't hear that high any more). When I first heard it, it was annoying but now it's part of the song.
I swear that one of the cymbals Bonham used on the Zoso album had a strong overtone that was identical to the bell (a physical, brass ringer) that used to be in standard dial telephones. I remember back in the day we'd sit around smoking weed and listening to Zeppelin *LOUD*, and whenever it was that album, somebody would always jump up, turn down the music, and say "Was that the phone? Did the phone ring?" Took us forever to figure it out.
    Good times...

The studio phone ringing on The Ocean recording always gets me since I wear headphones and it sounds like it's right there LOL, the dangers of having it stuck on 11 when zeppelin plays

Remasters done by Page are poor.
At the same time with Deluxe releases we are able to hear rough mixes and alternative versions.

When you're listening to Zeppelin concentrate on the drummer, John Bonham. Considered to be one if not THE best ever.

I Love Led Zeppelin and I love John Bonham don't get me wrong but Billy Cobham would blow bonham out of the water Billy Cobham is the Jimi Hendrix of drums and that's 100% facts
