A steak dinner and a drink, for that price is a real bargain and looking at it, I really couldn't fault it.

I use to work with someone who used the F weird constantly. It was part of his vocabulary. Was not aware he was saying it. I never swore in my life even on the building sites as an electrician. I was raised that way..

Witherspoons on Tuesdays is just over a tenner for a steak meal including a large soft drink. Chip portions are mean but value wise I still think that's excellent.
Always go for the large mix grill in Spoons, the Crown in Knaresborough is quite nice.
Had a Wetherspoons Steak once.
The keyword there is once. Certainly a go to for the cheap drinks, but for eats, Hungry Horse is the better budget place

It would be nearly impossible to serve a steak so thinly cut as medium, steak keeps on cooking after it's left the grill, so between the time it leaves the grill is plated up then waits for someone to pick the meal up and deliver it, it may well have gone from med/rare to medium or rare to med/rare.
My daughter and I had Steak in Weatherspoon's in Barnstaple and it was terrible .Everything else was lovely though just the steak that was tough

You could park in a space with nobody either side and find went you come back you've still got a dent because someone came and parked next to you and left before you got back.

Mansfield; what can you say, there are some really lovely people in Mansfield but there are also some right snaffs as I am sure you are aware. For the full experience you should have gone to the Spoons in Kirkby!

@@TheMacMaster Didn't realise, I knew it was up for sale but on checking I see that it has now been taken over. The thing I do admire about Spoons is the rescue work they do on some of the buildings. The Regent building in Kirkby was really run down out they did a stunning restoration job on the outside.

Looks more like pork than it does beef steak, I was a chef for 5 years and I did work at wetherspoons for a very long time I worked for the winter garden In Harrogate and my steak was always brown, not white 😮

Not surprised you gave it 7.4. I think it is all to do with ones palate as most of the 10s you give is when you have fish chips mushy peas and curry sauce.

Nothing wrong with an opinion based on experience Lee. Honesty has integrity, PC does not. FWIW, the 'Spoons in Salisbury is magnificent. It has rooms to sleep in and is spotlessly clean.

Witherspoon's food is terrible it's all frozen or microwaved. There are no skills in cooking the food there they just zap it in a microwave they are not chefs and every chicken tikka tastes exactly the same wherever you go in the country because it's a microwave meal from a box 😂
That's not actually true. Everything is cooked in the kitchens apart from the currys.
