    This is Ray raw and unrehearsed, jamming as only these great jazz players can. The way Ray directs things is nothing short of miraculous. Watch bassist George Duvivier wonder what the song is as Ray plays an improvised intro, Ray calling out the changes, his changes, then when Georgia emerges, everything is alllll right! This is a rare treat - being in on an improvised performance by these masters of the art!

      @danielm4114 2 года назад +3

      I've never heard him so dissatisfied with a band's ability to keep time, which makes this a frustrating watch and listen. You're right about his mastery of slow tempo- pick a studio song he's done and the live version is almost always more emotionally resonant.

      Yes But too Slow Tempos annoying the other because for a rythm section are unplayable, for a drum or a bass is a no sense, this concert is to improvised obviously with no organization, it would be a businnes operatio of some impresario of musical bussiness.
      The concert is full of error of the band,becauss it was obviously a Ray Charles Concert who gave an opportunity to work to other old players

    • @jenux
      @jenux 2 часа назад

      Yes but he is floating himself, on the tempos (... anyway, this is an amazing video, for me I love the way or the fact that Ray is schooling all of them jazz guys about the Blues (not so much Hank and Fathead of course - btw Hank in a couple moments is "quoting" Cleanhead :))) ). And I love that whenever he feels something in the music is very right, he gets soo excited, and loves it. This also brings me to the (some could say) "overcomping" of Ray, which comes from pure excitement - Chris Cain does the same thing (but he is also a "student" of Ray). Anyway, just wanted to say I am happy to find this jam, to see that even these meetings don't always go perfect :D but there is some of the heaviest blues I know from Ray because he is taking chances.
