This is the first 8 mins of a workshop in which Derek Henderson recreates his iconic image of New Zealand, Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern for American Vogue.
Derek takes you through the process, step by step.
Including:
Detailing the brief and how he technically overcame the problem of having to shoot during the midday sun.
All the technical details of the photographic and lighting equipment he used, showing you hands on, in the field, exactly how this was achieved, so that you can recreate that photo yourself.
The practical tuition in the field is accompanied by in depth interview where Derek describes the creative reasons for his technical choices.
Along the way Derek also imparts his personal process for working with the photographic "Team" And probably most importantly how to get the most out of the photographic subject.
Kiwi born photographer Derek Henderson has spent the last 35 years living and working in London, Los Angeles, Paris and New York to name a few. Represented internationally by the prestigious M.A.P agency, Derek was commissioned by American VOGUE in 2018 to take a portrait of New Zealand, Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.
