To all the hunters out there........... this is what happens to all the bears, deers, lions etc... new born when you shoot their mom.......you leave the baby left behind homeless motherless and clueless to suffer and die all because you wanted to get your kicks out of killing a weaker species just cause you could...................just think before you pull the trigger...................

I was surprised, too, that the calf was not calling out for his mother, and she wasn't calling out to get the calf to respond for her to find him. I presume the base reason may be because of predators.

That was my first thought also.
Right from the beginning, I thought "she must be a first time mum".

Yes, I believe that we women are instinctively in a protective mode when it comes to childbirth of family members.
The Bison still had the Afterbirth attached, and it is maybe possible that the scent, and the hormone level triggered a certain reaction from the other female Bison in the herd.
This is very common in Elephants, and all the females (Aunties) will gather together to protect the baby, and they will actually encourage and "show" the new mother how to care for the baby.

Beautiful video, and my first time watching your video also.
So I will agree with Debbie that the natural sounds of nature without music was a real treat for me too.
The video had me sitting on the edge of my chair, and I was almost in tears when mother and calf found each other.
Would the calf not bawl or cry for the mother?
      Or would that attract predators?
      Thank you again.

I love how the Mommy bison was so determined to find her little baby. Once, I watched a nature program about penguins. In the bitter cold, they band (huddle)together for extra warmth, especially to protect their babies. Well, one baby didn't make it. The mother was so sad. Then immediately, a lady penguin rushed over and put her wings around the grieving mother. My heart melted. Thank you, God.

Just to see how excited her lil one was to see her was really beautiful. Poor lil thing had to be scared and confused, but I’m very happy he/she is back with mum.

All's well that ends well. Thank you for uploading this and for not interfering. It's hard to watch and not feel the urge to "fix" the problem.
