- SOLD One of the cleanest old F-150's in existence. This truck actually lives down the street from me and I see it all the time now.

I was today years old when I found out the 2009 model was the last one to have had the old door chime.

... I had no clue that they made the 09+ F150s with stepsides... at all. Strange to see
This truck is incredibly rare! Not only was 2009 the last year Ford offered a flareside bed on the F-150 (something they had offered for the previous 44 years straight since the F-150 came out in 75) but it is also the only year of the 12th generation that had a flareside option! Further, the overwhelming majority of '09 flareside F-150s were regular cab models, not supercab like this one here. Even more is that 2009 was the worst sales year of the F-150 of all time with Ford only selling about 414,000 units.
To put everything into perspective, this truck is the rarest version of the rarest model year Ford F-150 EVER!
Another thing worth pointing out is that the flareside bed itself is a holdover from the previous generation F-150 as Ford wasn't going to waste money on developing a new flareside bed for the 12th generation F-150 if they were only going to offer it for one year. In this way, the '09 flaresides were a sort of Frankentruck with the front half being of the 12th generation and the back half being from the 11th generation.
In conclusion, this thing should be in a museum!
How much did this sell for? And in what state was it located?
Someone is going to get basically a new truck for half the price of new. This is when the F150 started to take off, separating themselves from the rest and becoming a staple on every construction or work site.

Looks like mine, but not flared. Mine isnt a fx4 so certain things arent in mine. But majority of interior is identical. Couple spots of rust on the box above rear wheels, other then that, at 167,000, it looks pretty dang nice.
Why does the 2009 have a higher towing capacity than the 2008 or 2010 model?

Probably. There’s a lot of cross over between 11th and 12th gens from what I understand
