In one of my current sandbox games I plan to have my female character run a "marriage scam" where I´ll marry vlandian nobels, sell off their stuff and then let them go on a very unenthusiastic walk into some enemy formation, so I can move on to the next. And I am thinking that once I become a vassal, I could call the ladys into armies to... create more single nobles. But I am basically starting off, so any advice on how to make that work out somewhat profitable?
I saw someone try that once. It went miserably because he didn't level charm and didn't do anything to raise relations with the clans he was trying to marry from. I hope you're good at jailbreaks ... I haven't played in 1.8 because my pc could barely handle bannerlord and couldn't get through a siege at all, but in the earlier versions jailbreaks were the very best way to win relations and gain charm, which both contribute to lowering the price clan leaders demand for marriages. You could even get them to pay you for it after a couple jailbreaks. If that still works, it can be ALL profit. And definitely make sure clan death is turned on and at the maximum rate. I played on the medium difficulty when I played and had a really hard time getting nobles to actually die when I wanted them to. Even with a javelin to the back of the head.
@@Nurk0m0rath Yeah, that mistake I am glad I didn´t make. Social is full and Charm has 5 focus points. Death is on "Realistic" aswell. Jailbreaks might be though right now. I am good enough at them, but right now the Vlandians just steamroll the Western Empire with three well coordinated armies and rarely loose. And wasn´t there a bug, that prevented lords from putting their captives into dungeons or was that fixed already?
@@Der_Eisenfresser I never saw that one, but I did say I haven't played the current patch. But if they never lose, the only other way I know to gain relations is gang busting. You get like 1 point of relations with whichever clan owns the town for each gang, iirc.
Hahaha sounds like something you would watch on a documentary - It's almost always the spouse that offs their husband/wife! Like 99% of the time :) That sounds like it would be very profitable - almost like a life insurance scam lol! As far as marrying a bunch of different people, it's easiest if you can raise relations with them beforehand. Releasing from battles, prison breaks, joining the same kingdom as them and voting with them, donating things, donating influence (there are a lot of ways to get it done !)
For the sex of a child, I remember someone is Discord looking at the code saying it was 51% female and 49% male. I and others think this is off as I seem to get way more females than males.

I think it's worth testing if small clans have a bonus for having kids. Here's what happened in my game: I used my sister as a siege master, until my clan grew so much, I no longer cared about losing her, and had a character entirely focused on sieges. So eventually I pimped her out. What I didn't noticed at the time, was that my new brother-in-law was the last surviving member of his clan. My sister at the age of 32 when married, managed to deliver 6 KIDS!
Lol thanks for watching! I actually had get up from my desk and go downstairs for a few minutes to clear up - I kept giggling every time I tried to record voice over. Rippin and tearin ftw
Could a valid strategy be to just populate a kingdom, and have relatives field armies, or is there a limit/restriction. Right now it seems like you are capable of printing armies
Good question - so the clan can have as many nobles/companions as they want, but the number of armies allowed in the field is based on the clan rank. At clan tier 4 you cap out at 4 (our main party + 3 companion) and you get get +1 with leadership 250 perk. But once you reach the max party limit, those extra nobles just sit around or are used as a governor/captain/etc. Now if one of our parties get taken out and the noble captures, we could instantly start another party to replenish, even if the first noble is stuck in jail, so it's still nice to have extras.
Assuming normal playstyle, where you own multiple fiefs and have family members lead parties, how do you increase chances of having additional babies of your family members? If both a husband and wife are leading separate parties, is the chance to get a child very low? Should wives of party leaders be left as governors? Or just left without a role? Nice video btw.
If they are leading separate parties then I don't think it will work. They will have to be in the same fief just like you. I also believe if one is a governor it will still work when resting in the same town, but I don't think it works if they are both in the same army but separate parties. I don't see it in my notes, I might need to test that to say for sure though. Tough question! In my experience, keep them in your party until the wife is preggo, then let her go on her merry way. Once the kid pops out, recall her again and repeat :)
@@shrap8 Are they part of your clan or one of the AI clans? They are in your own clan then that would be interesting info. I need to do a bit more testing then, maybe the pregnancy is specifically different from the player and not just AI in other clans.

Yeah that was pretty nice because you didn't have to wait. I think I prefer the way it is now though because even when you don't have fiefs you can still call people. I hate chasing companions after they get captured :(
Another excellent, essential video, love to see your channel growing!! Just wondering roughly how long irl it takes for one kid to reach adulthood. I find in my regular playthroughs i never really get far enough in that I’m worrying about my character aging out or seeing my kids become active
Thank you! I had to do a bit of research on this one because I don't often use family members. So I ran this at 200 speed and it took about 1.5 hours IRL without doing any battles or other activities that would slow time down. When I did my Prussian WC, it took about 16 years and I think the recordings altogether were about 50 hours or so? So my guess is somewhere in the range of 30 - 50 hours depending on how much time you wait around. That was a lot of sieges which take IRL time and 0 in game time so it was longer than normal.
I fiddled with the birthing. So I'm sure everyone took the perk to get more renown for the arena. So did I. But once my wife spit out the four I went reset my perk to virile. An she gave me three more.
Do we know that there are definitely only the two factors in pregnancy chance? My brother is married via a popup offer to a 22yo (at the time) that said they are compatible. I married strategically (she superficially said she wasn't attracted to me, I said it doesn't matter it's a marriage of alliance) to an 18yo. She also doesn't really like me (+4 relation). Both me and brother have Virile. And both wives were kept in party as we toured Calradia, only stopping in towns for smithing breaks. After 3 years, he'd spawned 4 kids, and my wife was finally pregnant for the first time. 10 years later, and I still only have the 1 heir. Wondering if it's purely them dice rolls hating me, or if I skewed the stats by marrying someone that doesn't wanna do the deed
I think they changed it that each woman can only have up to 3 pregnancies. 6 kids with twins. Ill have 18 kids when me and my 2 bros are done having 6 kids each then I'm gonna sit AFK in town while I watch TV or something then start my kingdom when they grow up.
NEVER EVER sell your spouse equipment. Some of it can be over 200K worth of Denars. Sometimes it's incredibly rare to spawn to even buy it. And most often, some weapons are unobtainable. There are some noble 1H weapons(swords specifically)that are so powerful, only through 200 smithing you might get a chance to have them.
Yeah they can have some really good gear! It can help to sell it in the early game if you need cash to get a kingdom going, but I think you're right that most of the time it's very useful to keep.
As you bring in other nobles into your family, also check what their civilian kit is. They break the rules often, and this can help for prison breaks later.

Shame on me for taking TaleWorlds at their word on a forum post, I married Arwa as a Battanian and now all my heirs are Aserai culture. That will be fixed once Arwa has an unfortunate accident on the battlefield and I have to remarry to...cope. By the way, I haven't watched the video yet but here's a pro tip: Savescum the birth until you get a set of twins (ideally male). This would result in 6-8 male heirs per marriage per male clan member if you really want a massive clan fast. I think I will restart this playthrough now that I have a few tricks up my sleeve. (Did you know that you can train an army of recruits into max tier troops just by selling crafted Tier 4 iron greatswords to the town and using the money to buy all the shield/thrown weapons, and then discard them for XP with that perk? The "XP gained" will be red and list the total amount of XP needed to upgrade all your troops so use the "quick discard all" to see the total amount of XP you'll need and then put them all back in your inventory and start manually adding items until you reach that number. Its better to go a few hundred, or a couple thousand XP over because it doesn't seem to be 100% accurate, I don't think it counts the first troop in a stack. I use that technique to recoup my Fian Champions I lose as a mercenary since I can't "bank" my troops inside a fief, and my party size is much lower since I can't have an army of clan mates as a mercenary.)
Good tip: keep your wife/husband's relationship high, the higher the relationship, the better chance of making a baby (or according to the wiki and Reddit).
Technically in the medieval ages they didnt have to wait until 18. Its weird that we need to sacrifice realism because some laws have a problem with the ages of fictional game characters :D
Yeah I would like to see them being useful at a much sooner date. They could always disable marriage until they reach a certain age if that was the issue?
Funny thing in one run, the big bro married some Imperial lady. I forgot who, but she has one positive trait and no negative one. Guess what happen? The first 2 babies are girls, the eldest one has 2 red traits, and the second one has 3 red traits. However the third one is a boy and he has 2 positive traits. I wonder how it came to this. I did got my player character marry Garios' daughter and she got me 2 babies pretty quickly despite her age.
I learned the thing about losing male nobles if they marry a clan leader the hard way. Married Niasen off to a Khuzait, noticed he was missing from the clan about a month later. Lesson learned.

Here's a question -- how do you marry off your family to specific characters? There is no way to force the lord to recommend a particular person, and they only recommend one of their clan, usually not the one I am looking for.
That's a good question, I don't know that there is a way to specifically select the other side. You usually get to pick only who is getting married from your side. Probably an oversight on their part because that seems like something you would want to control lol
Lmao this Is a great vid. Would it be possible to marry off the kids of your companion clan to your kids to be at least a bit like the Habsburgs And have an even bigger family?
@@williamharding8493 Yeah I thought about that after the fact lol but I had already spend hours on the recording part and didn't want to redo it :) That would have been a good one!
I had no idea I had to be in the same city. I tought marrying would be enough. And that baby's would pop out of nowhere just like the AI does. Does being in the same army count?
It specifically has to be in a fief - out on the map or in a village will not count either. Army won't count unless it's in a fief. Oddly enough, waiting in a bandit hideout does work lol
A follow-up, do non-player clan members still have children even if they are physically separated? I know the player and their partner need to be together in the same party.
It’s really unfortunate you can’t marry multiple wives in Vanilla, my wife is currently 28 and after our 2 children, no more seem to be coming. I really need ought to get rid of her

Something about enabled death always feels weird to me, the fact I have to part way with my character after all that investment.. But it does provide a lot of dynamic play. What would the pros/cons be for you personally, Strat Gaming?
I know exactly what you mean! It's frustrating, but it also adds a certain dynamic to the game that you just don't get with death off. There's a sense of urgency because you know time is running out and you'll have to start over when your heir takes over. The only pro I can think of to having death enabled (aside from personal preference like being fun) would be that you can kill of enemy nobles. You can execute them, they can die in battle or old age or they can die in a failed prison break. It will weaken a clan significantly if you kill too many of their nobles. I hope that helps!
@@Strat-Guides Appreciate the input, I wish they would allow for more tweaking in this Enable Death mode, because I am anticipating this game on the PS5. For example that your character cannot age/die but the rest of the world will conform to the ruleset, would have been a happy compromise for me.

Your tutorial videos are packed rich with information, it'll take me a while to digest this.

But I am basically starting off, so any advice on how to make that work out somewhat profitable?
chance to die in battle is really low, so it will be a tough grind for you
I saw someone try that once.
Like 99% of the time :)
That sounds like it would be very profitable - almost like a life insurance scam lol!
Yeah I was getting a couple more girls than boys, but figured my data set was just too small to make a conclusion from it. I wouldn't doubt a bit a of TW maths going on here lol

I think it's worth testing if small clans have a bonus for having kids.
Here's what happened in my game:
I used my sister as a siege master, until my clan grew so much, I no longer cared about losing her, and had a character entirely focused on sieges. So eventually I pimped her out. What I didn't noticed at the time, was that my new brother-in-law was the last surviving member of his clan. My sister at the age of 32 when married, managed to deliver 6 KIDS!

@@Strat-Guides I confirm that if one is the governor it works for making babies, it already happened in my latest campaign
@@Strat-Guides had Nathanos get his wife prego during a siege camp, and they bath were leading separate parties
@@shrap8 Are they part of your clan or one of the AI clans? They are in your own clan then that would be interesting info. I need to do a bit more testing then, maybe the pregnancy is specifically different from the player and not just AI in other clans.

We will never forget Sir Humpsalot. He was indeed the most chungus of all chunguses to have ever lived.
Lol an absolute unit :D
In prev patches you could asign someone you want to include your party to a governor role, then he teleporst to a town or a castle.
Always a touchy subject ;) great vid!
Lol yeah it is! Thanks for watching :)

Hahaha TW we need incest, please! Literally unplayable :)
This game is underrated. Like bro this game is amazing.
I think they changed it that each woman can only have up to 3 pregnancies. 6 kids with twins. Ill have 18 kids when me and my 2 bros are done having 6 kids each then I'm gonna sit AFK in town while I watch TV or something then start my kingdom when they grow up.

The way you explain is... i just like it. :)
The gigantic spear at the end of the video is very on brand for the character
Lol extra long reach! It was doing a ton of damage too! I could stab people off of ladders from really far away
