I have mine hung at 24 inches above the water because unless you have a diffuser on the lenses you are different color bulbs aren’t able to blend at your height so I here will be laser beams of hotspots and your corals will suffer for the instability of light. So minimum of 24” and my buddy has his at 30” just to be safe. You should watch the black box showdown on the bill reef supply RUclips channel cause if I hadn’t watched it I still wouldn’t know. Tank is gonna be dope as hell though! Good luck!
Looks nice. You could get some cheap white raceway to put inline with you brackets and run the back wire through it. Easy way to conceal the black wire.
I love the warranty void is removed stickers.. scare tactics.. It was ruled that ots actually illegal in the United States for products to have those stickers.. So they cant actually void your warranty if you bresk the seal but most people dont realize this
Hey WC. Great hanging idea. Yes the included hanging kit is an upgrade from standard Black Box. The on board remote timer is the same one Ocean Revive uses. Good luck with your build. Subbed
Please help with setting after removing lenses for better spread. What mounting height and intensity is now recommend for running 165w viparspectra led reef light? Thanks
I have 2 same lights of u.. but can u tell me How is work.. The C1 is Blue or White? C2 is white or blue? I received yesterday so im new with this lights.. the Ch1 Same thing blue or white? and Ch2.. thank you for ur help
Thinking about doing the same mount. What are the two things sticking out of the slopey part of the bracket? The part where the u shaped thing is attached to.
Those are the U-bolts. They look like this: images.homedepot-static.com/productImages/6eef6b77-c7b4-4206-bd1f-d59f0dd705c8/svn/national-hardware-u-bolts-2193bc-512-u-bolt-ss-64_1000.jpg
I just bought two of these. I can't figure out how to make the hanging cord longer. It seems I can push the wire through to make the length shorter but then it's locked in place and I can't make it longer. Did you attempt this with your lights or just use the default length?
First of all: Nice setup! Very well decorated, clean and yes it sounds nice and quiet! Good Job! Did you say that you paid a little more than a hundred bux for these lights? If so; do they do multi-color as well as the lightning feature? Can you control them externally? Thanks for any info you can give! Actually, please let us know what brand and model number these are! Keep moving forward with this great project and I wish you all the best of luck! Have a great day!
Yeah they're a little more than $100 on Amazon. There is no lightning feature and you can only control the "white" and the "blue" channels. They cannot be controlled by Apex but I think there might be a DIY hack to get it to work.
I have the white on 1 and the blues on 40. Everything is slowly growing, no bleaching. If they're bleaching with the white on 1 then raise your lights up or remove the lens caps.
@@LazyAssReefer hi I got a single vipraspectra t300 what height did you hang from the water and are you still using the same settings. White 1 blue 40? Thank you
By any chance do you know how long the hangwire is? My ceilings are vaulted so I'm going to have to figure so getting out maybe steal your hang idea hopefully it's not patented lol
How you doing man? Just a quick question for you, how are these lights doing for you? Ive got a 120cm 300 liters tank and i want to corals. Haven't decided on what exactly. I dont fancy spending an arm and a leg for reef lights but these are that bad. What do you think?
from what I know is they work you probaly can’t get some fancy advanced 300 dollar coral growing on them but they will work for most lps and softies sorry if i’m late on the response and you alrdeay setup your tank
Not yet, I've only had them running for a little over a week. I'll do a more in depth review down the road once I've had them longer. Anything you were wondering in particular?
I'm glad to hear you like them! So far the quality is impressive. I am however upgrading to SB Reef Lights LEDs to see improved coral coloration and growth. I'll keep you updated!
MAD DOGZ TV I just got one and can't figure out the timer controls I'll set it for time to come on and off and doesn't work like 22:00 to come on at night then go off at 08:00 in morning but comes on right now when it's 4:00 pm
Just bought one of these lights and was looking for the correct way to install them. Great idea, thank you!
Been searching for some lights that won't hurt the wallet. Thanks for the upload. Might be getting these guys

must be nice having your stud match where you want the lights hehe :D
These lights aren't to heavy to use anchors
@@paulzacsek9772 I’m not risking anything last thing I need is losing sleep over lights dropping 😂

I want to purchase these lights on the description says 2pc that means two sets of lights come in box ?
Hello, could you tell me what percentage I put on the white light and what percentage I put on the blue light, please?
Please help with setting after removing lenses for better spread. What mounting height and intensity is now recommend for running 165w viparspectra led reef light? Thanks
Are they disco balling at the beginning of the video or just shimmering?
Great video and you lights are awesome. You also did a great job on your stand as well.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Looks great. I remembered Mars also has the same power aquarium light but it cannot be dimmed.

How's the shimmer?
I'm using your idea, thank you for protecting our nation.
Nice video and great review :)
Thanks for stopping by! :)
Hi just wondering are you still using these? and how's the growth on corals

Thank you so much for the video I needed a ifea to hang the 300w model. Did you mention where the brackets came from ?
I got them from Home Depot in the shelving section. :)
For 55 gallon 4 ft long tank can I use only one ?
Can anyone give me a link to his hanging kit
Does one remote work them both
Have you added any corals and do you have any opinions on the LED lights?

What is your settings for channel 1 and 2, I am looking for the percentage. I have two of this lights but my corals keep bleaching.

So they don’t turn off automatically you do need a timer

Haha! I'm pretty sure they are around 5 or 6 feet long. There are lots of creative ways to hang LED lights, just gotta do some Google hunting. ;)
Hey man, I have a 100G 5’ tank, you think I can get away with 2 of these or I really need 3 positioned sideway? Thanks in advance for your answer.
I would definitely get three! Better to have a little bit too much light than have crazy shadowing.

Any update on these lights?

What's automatic?
I mean the light . Like sunrise sunset does it have like that?
Frederick Fernandez oh haha no sorry lights are just on/off.
Sucks they dont come with a way to mount them on the aquarium rim like some others, i cant drill anything on the wall as my wife will kill me lol
I copied this but couldn’t find drywall anchors. Is that gonna fuck me?
