could you show us the “caravan” piece of the whiplash movie...
The guitar starts off the song and the drummer needs to come in on 1 but the guitar does fall on one so it would help to let ppl know where the guitar is when playing this simple beat or it won't sound right.
And the full after the first chorus it's an 8 count with the last note of the chorus ending on 4& (push) and then an 8 count where the fill comes in on 7& and ends on 8& and the next note with the snare is on the 2 (if you count it strictly 1234) tricky timing for a beginner.
should have a crack at some more blink 182. maybe something from the Neighbourhoods album, the drums are so sick. have a look at snake charmer, even if she falls or wishing well. or maybe hearts all gone if you could play it

i see that sometimes you play a 4 piece and sometimes a 5 piece kit...is there any tips or tricks to making a 4 piece kit work for songs that used a 5 piece?
I usually just move anything from the second tom down onto the floor tom.

Actually you are playing the wrong beat with the bass drum. The beat you showing here is just when the drums come in, after the first dubbel note on the bass drum it is the pattern single bass next dubble and that is the pattern Phil Rudd is playing both on the studio album and live.
In the verses?? He very rarely plays two kicks (to add some flavour) but it’s mostly kick snare kick snare the whole way…
