The growl she adds in places like "not alone" makes me think she could be at ease playing Persephone just as much as Eurydice. Also an absolute powerhouse in the projection department, but no surprises there
Damn that girl has power, bit shaky which is understandable, and I love that she goes with the opt up to the E5 at the end! I’m sure after a few weeks she’ll really settle into the role, however I love the sound of her voice in this song!
Probably because it’s her first night & we all know she’s talented, so one off performance isn’t worth harping over. She probably still killed everything else (we’ve all seen her recorded performance of “Flowers” at this point).
I saw her two weeks ago and she was incredible!!! She gave the character an extra level of grit and roughness that showed her as a woman who's seen the world for what it is
She did not go this crazy when I saw her a few days ago. By the sound of it, this was a lot for her to do. Definitely doesn’t sound as effortless as Eva’s belting was. Makes me think this was not sustainable for her so she had to adjust and pull back.
Not out of tune, this is vocal strain. She transitioned to Hadestown from Shakespeare in the park with no time off, she is doing amazingly now that she’s had time to readjust with some days off
i agree! she seems like a good singer but i don’t like her version of this it’s also her first time signing this so i understand she was probably really nervous
@emalaw1329 wow it's almost like this is from Solea's first show, which you know comes with a lot of nerves. Please go get up on that stage, sing that part perfectly infront of a whole crowd :)))
@@courtneythompson6179 but that's not what the commentor is critiquing.. the commentor is addressing her vocal choices and when you use the title "showboating" it refers to sound. Solea isn't adjusted to the adrenaline of the show. She CAN sing, and show boating discredits the hell out of her talent. she is not shakey as a choice.

I was actually surprised that she's cast for Eurydice. I see her more as Persephone!
The fact that she already has the confidence to go full out like this on the first night???? Imagine how she is now holy crap she’s incredible
Absolutely amazing! Saw her last night.
In her defense she had some BIG shoes to fill and frankly sounds like she fit them comfortably c:

Yea I agree. As her voice settles into the role - she is gonna SLAY this in all the right ways ❤️
Yeah she was probably a little nervous or excited
Just saw her live in New York yesterday and she got the note flawlessly, absolutely stunning and an amazing actor
Just saw her a week ago and she was AMAZING, definitely a lot more confident!! absolutely loved her in the role
i prefer with the shaky. the character is nothing but in emotional distress in this part of the musical
ok i love solea but why is no one talking about how SHARP she is
Made me cringe hard. But it takes time to settle in
It’s her debut, there will have been serious nerves taking to the stage to play such an iconic role for the first time!
Probably because it’s her first night & we all know she’s talented, so one off performance isn’t worth harping over. She probably still killed everything else (we’ve all seen her recorded performance of “Flowers” at this point).
IM CYUUMMMAAAAAAAYYYYAYAYAYAYYYYYYYNNNNN
😂😂

I know she was a little sharp, but this is a nerve-wracking part! Give the girl some grace, she’s so talented.
She was so sharp it was like a whole different key
yeah.
She's incredible!!! I can't wait until there's more of her as Eurydice!!!
I'm so happy to hear her do the opt up at the end like Eva did on the cast recording!
Wow, I like her take on this. I feel like it reflects the rougher side of the character
THAT IS POWER!!! She sounds incredible
Just went to see the show today, she did soooo good. I think this was just first show nerves. Also she is such a sweetheart.
I dream of having this belt one day
ABSOLUTE INTENSE FULLBODYGOOSEBUMPS RIGHT NOW
Amaaaazing ! Chills !
Omg THE POWWWEERR💖💖💅🏾💅🏾
Saw her perform in October and she blew me away.
Ooh that’s definitely different from Eva. I love that she has her own style to the song
I've watched this way too many times
The amount of times I've watched this is not healthy lol
Holy fuck!
So powerful
CHILLS!!
GOD DAMN
i got CHILLZZ
shes such a powerhouse omg she would do amazing as persephone as well (im emotionally attached to amber gray's vocals lol)

It’s a hard song
I’m. Glad they have her at least cause the Betty Who casting wasn’t good
Wow! That was great
It sounds out of tune for me but that's ok. Being Eurydice must be hard.
Not out of tune, this is vocal strain. She transitioned to Hadestown from Shakespeare in the park with no time off, she is doing amazingly now that she’s had time to readjust with some days off
I want to be that girl one day
Oversang
Amazing voice but it sounds like she lost control at the start of "I'm coming"
Ouch that was sharp and out of key. Why is everybody praising her? Belting isn’t all the answer especially when you’re out of key and sharp.
I don’t rlly like her version of singing this either. No hate to her, she’s probably a good singer and stuff but this is not her song
i agree! she seems like a good singer but i don’t like her version of this
it’s also her first time signing this so i understand she was probably really nervous
This is really bad. She's just screaming, and out of tune at that.
This makes me cringe so hard. I know how talented she is hopefully there's better versions once she settles in
To be fair, she was coming off of an exhausting Shakespeare run as Ophelia with no time off. She has definitely settled in
I lost my shit when I heard this for the first time, the opt up???? I WILL MAKE LIKE URSULA AND STEAL HER VOICE WTF
Yikes
Eva better
i hate this so much
I hate it honestly, doesn’t fit the character at all. Just showboating
I'd like to see you try singing this in front of a whole audience and see how you sound

Whoa I just had like a minute long full body chills
I honestly hate when Broadway sounds this bad. Everyone sounds terrible. The ensemble sounds like a tired high school cast. 🫤
