There was a very old driving game called Stunts! (and various other names in different countries). One thing I really enjoyed about it was the competitors who had small reaction videos at the end of the race.. some would gloat if you lost and cry or be upset if you won. If the "characters" are about creating a cool team around you and rivalries with characters that have personalities then I'm all for it.. as long as it's not like in Test Drive Unlimited where it's all just rich idiots that are completely uninteresting.

Given that these are the People who Drove Forza Horizon into the Dirt by turning it into Fornite with Cars, and nearly killed it Stone Dead with their sheer Mismanagement (sorry, the Game suddenly doing a U-Turn and making Massive Improvements very Shortly after they Left is no way a Coincidence!) I do not expect anything but a Disaster with this Game, that is if Microsoft even allows it to Exist, as I would not put it past them to just Buy Maverick, Shutter them to "end the Threat" , Re-Absorb the Members of the Team who are actually Competent back into Playground, and then Eventually release it themselves as FH7 once PGG has Modified it to get a PEGI 3/ESRB E Rating.
This whole situation is very intriguing. Maverick Games could make anything they wanted, but instead chose an open world racer. Not only that, their mission statement is to encourage creative risks. It certainly sounds to me like historically conservative Microsoft was hamstringing Playground Games a bit. Probably a bit of the sometimes slimy player retention / live service / FOMO / Game Pass / etc practices going on too. I've never been a big fan of car games with a strong character emphasis because they're always terrible and cringey. Similar to 99% of car movies too. It's so hard to get right. Still, I'm very excited to see what Maverick Games comes up with. More car games is only a good thing.

They alternate basic updates and big updates, here’s my personal view on previous ones: American Automotive (basic): New cars + returning location Winter Wonderland (big): New cars + New location + returning unique feature + returning community event Community choice(basic): Returning cars and that’s all (Despite the update itself shaped by community, it’s still has a basic playlist) Lunar New Year(big): New cars + New location European Automotive(basic): New cars and that’s all (There is 1 appreciated car, but it doesn’t really rises update overall) Horizon RaceOff(big): New cars + New community event + New moving location Apex AllStars(basic): New cars and that’s all (same situation as European Update) Horizon Retrowave(big): New cars (2 of them highly appreciated) + New radio station + New location + New BPM synchronised props With this logic: Modern Horizons: will have new cars and that’s all (Beside only “Highly requested car” Icon new update doesn’t promise anything unique. Possibly will be built like Apex AllStars and European Automotive) Update 36 (in the moment of writing this comment name is unknown): we already have interesting coffee icon so it will be a big update. Notes: 1)I didn’t included props because this is basic addition (except Retrowave props as those have unique feature) 2)updates from the “New Team” before “American Automotive” aren’t really work with that pattern. 3)All of this is my personal view and I must say it’s very extraordinary
I wish they'd remove the narrative and story, it only delays the racing and I've never seen a good story. They're all cheesy, cliched and frankly, boring IMO. Just work on exciting and enjoyable racing events.
Has anyone heard of a game called Heading Out on Steam? It's a narrative led racer that pretty much holds together from what I've heard. And the soap opera intros in GRiD Legends were a lot of fun. I wouldn't write the new Maverick racer off too quickly
Well I don't know how true it is but supposedly in 3 days Xbox will be announcing over 30 games in 2 hours now like I've said I don't know how true that is also according to Pure Xbox website they said that if FH6 will be at the Xbox Showcase it'd be a surprise announcement and they said that if FH6 would be at the Showcase FH6 will be set in Japan but I don't know how true and reliable any of this information is so as always we need to take it with a grain of salt but in my own personal opinion my bet is that we will either get a teaser trailer of FH6 or a official release trailer of FH6 but my best bet is the official release trailer of FH6
The Map Location is most Important to me as it will Determine if I Buy the Game, Wait for Reviews and a Sale, Give it a very Reluctant Gamepass Trial *If* I can be bothered to renew my Subscription, Ignore it completely, or Boycott it Outright as Unacceptable.
@jdproductions6147 well I never said that FH6 will be in Japan it'll probably be set in Japan if and only if FH6 will be released in 2024 cause of test drive unlimited solar crown is set in Hong Kong but if FH6 comes out in 2025 then it could be set in any location
Wouldn't make sense to bring in another horizon when 8 is still a mess in its own case that they'd be adding another mess to fix the moment it launches on pc or console.
Mike isn't a car guy and neither are the people he took with him. I used to watch some of the Forza monthly updates on here for Horizon 4 and every time they were on, nothing was explained properly and they knew nothing about the cars that were being added.
I'm not sure if it will be good or not. I will have an opinion when I see gameplay whether or not I will have any faith in any racing game Mike Brown comes up with.

I would definitively put it on him, I believe he had ideas and Microsoft wouldn’t allow him to implement them in FH5
