This is a great easy way to make a sketchbook! I’m currently working in my own homemade concertina sketchbook and I love it, I’ll definitely try your method, thanks for the great idea!🥰
So calming and beautiful 2 watch. 24 hours of nerve pain in my head. your calm voice and the beautiful colours ! Some pages i loved just as they were. Best R
FANTASTIC! What size was your watercolor paper to begin with? You ended up with a very nice sized sketchbook. Thanks for your talent, time and effort in making videos to share.
Hi Paul, glad you enjoyed this. I do glue to extra 3 pages together. But sometimes I split the book at the back and join with tape. Both options have advantages… Have fun Debbie
Debbie hi, I just found your channel - very inspiring. We met a few years ago at a workshop with Idris Murphy. Will be making a new sketchbook following your instructions very soon!
hi Eva its a smooth hot press mixed media paper. I prefer smooth paper rather than textured but its a personal choice, this is 200 gsm, I find heavier paper hard to fold.
FAB for sure!! Do you then glue the parts that are folded so they become one 'page'? Can it open the reverse way round? thank you... finally a method without Glueing and losing 1/2" each time...
Hi Debbie, just found your vid here. You gave the name of the originator of the design but ai wasn’t able to catch the name. Please would you let us have that written down. Thanks so much for sharing x

After you've folded your book, do you glue the 3 loose pages together or do you cut pages and then glue? Love your inspiring videos!

Hi Sarah, nice to hear from you. Hope you enjoy making your own concertina book…
Is there a part 2?
If you dont have that big sheet how many a4 sheets of paper should you tape it up to be in comparison
Just join as many sheets of A4 as you need. Fold each one in half to create a double page spread.

once all folded up I work on it and then split and rejoin each set of 4 pages at the back with brown paper tape. No glue involved.
Beautiful abstract pitty could not hear you.xx
Is that water colour a mix of paint and water or is it real water colour
It’s watercolour from a tube mixed with water. Not sure what you mean by ‘real’. It’s artist quality paint from Daniel Smith.
Debbie, What kind of paper were you using to make your concertina?
Hi it’s a full sheet of 200 gsm mixed media paper- I find a heavier paper gets hard to fold accurately
This is so inspiring. Thanks so much. Can you pls repeat the name or share the link of the person offering the template?
Really glad you enjoyed it. you can look up citizen sketcher.com for a template

Hi Shosh this is watercolour paint from Daniel Smith, Debbie
You went off camera while folding the second bit
Do you mean in a way that you couldn't figure out what she's doing? It's clear in my view.

Wouldn’t it be easier to see where to cut if you cut on the unpainted side?
Good idea! Love lateral thinking
