Oh my goodness! The suspense builds.... Don't quite understand why you set up your tent, unless the shelter was full. On the bright side, I'm glad the Trail provided so much pleasure in the form of beautiful flowers today. They were truly gorgeous. Looking forward to tomorrow's video.
You have to love the cake decorations. The mountain laurel are beautiful and awesome. They can cover the entire mountain side. The Roadis are great when the make nice pleasant tunnels. Rocksylviania has some nice tunnels. Glad to hear you are doing better with your feet.
Those bottles were probably left by local kids. There are perfect shoes, but you have to find them. Every shoemaker produces a size 9 but they all use different shaped lasts to build the shoe from. You have to find the shoe that the last is shaped like your foot. I can only wear Vasque or Solomon shoes, everything else gives me blisters, makes my foot muscles tire easily and make my feet ache. Also, try wearing light hikers instead of trail runners. They are just a fraction heavier than trail runners, come in low and ankle high height but more importantly, they have a thicker sole, more cushion and most have a shank in them for more foot support. I tested shoes on my first thru hike and found that there is very little difference between what works and what does not. Trail runners were made for trail running, they were never made for backpacking. Look at it this way. If you weigh 140 pounds and your pack weights 30 pounds do ever consider that your shoes wouldn't offer you good support and a good cushioning foot bed through everyday use at home if you weighed 170 pounds? Light hikers have the same type of shoe body as trail runners but a thicker sole. Also don't buy a bunch of shoes for the hike and then have a pair shipped to you when you need them. You should check for size EVERY time you need shoes. Your feet will flatten out more and more as you hike. I started my first thru hike at a size 9. I finished with a size 10 1/2. I started my second thru hike at a 10 1/2 and ended at a size 11 1/2. Since then, my feet have pretty much stayed the same 11 to 11 1/2. My last thru hike I started at a size 11 and finished at an 11 1/2 and then post hike they returned to a size 11. ALWAYS listen to your body when thinking about longer distance or any hiking for that matter. I hope you get the shoe problem figured out. Good luck! Hike safe, Hike strong, Have fun! geek A.T. You ended the video on a cliffhanger! Now I'm anxiously awaiting your next video to find out if you had to relocate your tent in the middle of the night.
I think you might be the first hiker I've watched this year you DIDN'T take the creeper trail. Funny you could hear bike bells from down below. Good job on getting the miles done and I sure hope you didn't get flooded out.
Definitely some beautiful water features as well as flowers and wildlife. I'm glad to see your spirits up and until the heavy rain at the end, it looked like a pretty enjoyable day to hike. You made the extra couple miles to the shelter with what appeared to be few complaints. I'm happy to see reaching a few goals.
Your right thereis no such thing as a perfect shoe. Like me I love xero shoes but the hikeing boots they have armt great for heavy hikeing packing..... love your thought process on this. At least you admit your a little crazy and I love it 🤪🤪🤪😅❤ I hope the decision you made was a good one. We are with you all the way 😁 you go girl

Nice when solo you are in charge 🤗🤗🤗🤩
The blooms are looking pretty amazing on this section. Ugh, that tent site was looking a little damp… 😮
