I have quick connects on the thumb and side shift cylinders, simple and cheap and hardly ever need the side shift but use the thumb alot. Also their is a small cover to the inner swing gears in between the boom and the cab. Underneath their is another clean out cover for the swing gears. Supposed to have a ton of grease in there.

I finally found a normal video of the pc75uu2! I have the same machine up here in Maine. Have had it 6 months now, will be starting my first job with it end of this week! Keep posting videos of you and your excavator working please!

Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video.
I am in the process of building a thumb for my kubota mini excavator
I plan on stealing some of your very good design ideas

    That’s a well proportioned thumb.
Before converting your thumb to hydraulic check out Andrew Camarata video on excavator thumbs he has about 6 excavators and I think only one has a hydraulic thumb.
I would just disconnecting the support brace and swinging your thumb into a park position for the times it is in the way.
Remember the bucket crowd or rotation on your machine has the most power, with a hydraulic thumb you need to set the max cylinder pressure to protect the thumb cylinder ram.
Doubt You won’t want to be mucking around with relief valve settings when swapping from thumb to boom articulation (unless both need similar pressure)
I have been studying thumbs with a view to fabricating a mechanical thumb very similar to yours.
My machine is a 1.8 tonne kx41-3 Kubota, but reckon the commercial thumbs are to heavy or eBay crap, hence fabricating my own seems the answer
My machine is plumbed for a hydraulic attachment but doubt I will go to hassle of fitting hydraulics just easy to park or remove.
Also only weld along length of stick or at a 45 degrees or more.

Those are all good points about the hydraulic relief pressure. I’ve seen lo online of bent thumb cylinders. I actually had to lengthen my thumb. I added a quick coupler and that moved the bucket teeth further away which made the thumb too short and it was very difficult to grab anything without getting half a bucket of dirt. It’s good now that it has been lengthened

Have you finished it yet ? Curious how the diverter valve worked out because I have basically the same machine and would like to convert the thumb to hydraulic

I just finally got the valve but haven’t had time to to plumb it yet. I think I’m going to have to mount it on the opposite side of the boom of the linkage rod and cylinder. It won’t fit in behind the cylinder, there’s not room for it up top, I don’t really want it underneath so I think the best spot will be on the other side of the boom. I want to build a thick metal guard around it so if I end up hitting a tree or something it won’t damage it. I’ll make a video of it when I mount it and plumb it all.
