Been a while since I watched your channel. My older 71yo sister Ann, passed away suddenly from an infection almost 2 weeks ago. She was a good praying woman and the most generous forgiving big heart. Miss her so much. Buried my dad, brother, mom and now my sister. Only my younger brother and I left from original family. 😢😢😢. -Elaine from NC.

At my Subway in the Midwest (about 20 minutes east of St. Louis), it is $9.98 before tax for one basic footlong. Now, if you order a something like a steak and cheese footlong, it is $11.98. Then if you want to make it a meal with soda and chips, it is almost $4 more. It is insane. I can only afford to buy Subway if I have a coupon, otherwise, no way. One of my students gave me a $10 gift card for Subway for Christmas. I tried to use the app to pay for my order. I figured I would splurge and order a fancy, more expensive sub - hey, $10 bucks off, right?! Well, I messed up ordering and paid with debit instead of the giftcard. Noooooooo! I couldn't believe I had just spent $14+ on just a sandwich. 😅

Compare cost of using your recipe compared to how much they paid using door dash.

Have an old copy of Dining 1; one of only 3 cookbooks I have kept. It's wonderful and paid for itself within 2 weeks of use. Love it and still using it; esp the wonderful cookie recipes!!

I went to Sam's Club with a friend. She told me about the Rotisserie chicken that Sam's cuts up and sell CHEAP. We both got one for $3.98 and that was 2.63lb for my chicken. That will be 2 if not 3 meals for my husband and I. We are having a "big salad" tonight with it. I will use the bones to cook down and make broth too. I love your videos. I wish I caught you live! I agree with the mom's birthday question. We went to MA to visit my 80 year old dad. He wanted to eat out at a steakhouse. We said, "Which one!?" You don't have your parents for long where you can take them out. I would go without meals to pay for a steak dinner for my dad. P.S. No judgement on that person who asked. I understand where they are coming from.

Big rotisserie chicken at Costco for $4.99. Cheaper than buying one to cook and saves time. Add veggie and a starch.

When I don't feel well enough to cook I will eat canned beans straight from the can.
Take pills pop the lid use a plastic spoon fill tummy, throw away trash. And cleanup done.

too out of character - something is wrong … pray for Mike Johnson and his family!
our enemy is evil. Pray Psalm 91
If we protect Israel - God will protect our border.
All we can do is pray ... we can count on God alone.
I'd ask what others think - but I don't even care what I think! ...
we do need to pray - that's all I know ... GOD'S WILL BE DONE.

Need too prep up veggies and meat in advance . Really helps with my anxiety, ocd and bipolar. Only hubby and I and one adult renter son. Easy peasy recipes are the best. All the gourmet cooks with their fancy and expensive recipes drive me crazy. Great if it works for them.

Subway and Jersey Mike subs are nasty now and overpriced since Covid shutdowns. Had 50% off during Super Bowl and they were disgusting. Central NC is one of the most expensive southern states. But I shop wisely.

I bought a $10 electric grill from the thrift store and boy do I love that grill, hardly use the stove top now, it was listed as $139 on amazon. I always shove all the veg on a pan, into the oven, no mess and everyone loves them. My go to is stir fry when I don't feel like cooking much, have a frozen pack of stir fry veg and cook rice, 10 mins and dinner done, any left over meat gets thrown in at the end. I have frozen cubes of cheese sauce, when I make the sauce for one meal I cook extra and freeze in cubes, cook pasta, thaw sauce and mac n cheese for dinner, same with soup and broth, that way you only defrost the amount needed not a whole batch, saves money. My daughters co workers are amazed that we eat at home about 355 nights a year and have lunch left overs as well. One of them came for dinner and said her family never ate together at the table....she thought I had cooked extra special for her coming but it was our regular Tuesday night meal.

I didn't do it exact because EI didn't have some of the seasonings on my pantry but I made your mom's stew. Turned out great! I was surprised to see lemon juice and a bit of sugar but added it and I think it was amazing. 🙂

Congrats on your video going viral! I often get thumbnails pop up on YT with headings something like "I make this every day. So delicious & easy" or "My family asks for this every day" etc. So, I guess those sorts of phrases seem to help?! Love hearing your tips & I always learn something new from your videos & live streams. Thank YOU! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

You know, I was impressed many, many years ago about not buying for specific meals, but to keep ingredients on hand, from which you plan your meals. It took a while to go from specific planning to your way of thinking.
It's a process, as you go from only buying what you need, to buying only the sale items to mix and match. I have "staples" in my freezer - frozen bags of corn, lima beans, mixed veggies, spinach, etc, so I know I can pick from them. I have frozen meat (more than a week's worth), that I can pick from, and I have several kinds of pasta, rice and potatoes from which to choose also.
When I was helping raise my nephew, I always kept hot dogs and mac 'n cheese, and/or spaghetti, pasta sauce and Johnsonville dinner sausages in the house.
Talk to people about how much fat they are eating when they add a can of "cream of soup", a block of cream cheese, sour cream, and cups of cheddar. You can't taste the meat after adding all that, and who knows how many extra calories and how much fat you are consuming.
I do like your tips, I have been using them for almost 20 years.
