Hesham has such a fun game to watch when it’s going well. Brutal to play against, with all of the unpredictable shot making and weird angles, and he moves deceptively well.
Then he is a hugely fair and respectful player. Serving out of court in that weird situation was the right thing to do, and he’s not the only player who would do such a thing, but he did it with such humility. Wonderful to see
I like both of these (very different style) players, but glad to see Hesham win on this day.
I totally agree.. Hesham did the right thing.
This is the squash I like to watch. Sportsmanship. I hope some others players realize why this kind of behavior is desired.
Gentleman Hesham! Love this guy. Always fun to watch.
Wow, when it all comes together for Hesham he is some sort of Wizard of Squash..! Amazing shots!
Just what I was thinking, raw magic. Alakazam Hesham!
@@bzijp I can't help but think now that maybe "The Wizard" would've been a more suitable nickname than The Black Falcon"...
Love seeing Hesham get some results. Probably the closest player like Ramy since Ramy. If he had Ramy's consistency we'd see him in a lot more finals!
You can't ask for fairer! He has the same classy attitude as Farag. That was impressive to watch.
Already has been said, but again, Hesham is such a joy to watch, and always a gentleman. You know when you watch his matches that you'll see some shots you'll never see elsewhere. That's precious for the sport. Kudos to him !
We need more players like Hesham
Fantastic shots from Hesham when he plays them correctly...
Two ends of squash spectrum w.r.t respect and fair play.
Hesham on one end and Asal on the other.
Hesham is just a pleasure to watch on court.
Hesham is so skilful and deceptive, he must be a nightmare to play against. The most entertaining player on the tour to watch. His wrist can spin the full 360 degrees somehow.
Hesham does 20 things my teachers will kill me if I do, and somehow it works so flawlessly for him (whereas I only get a shaky finger haha)
Yes I tell my students never to watch him lol
His constant wrist flicking kills me! His racket preparation is so bad, but I just love watching him play.
@@watching99134 hahaha I should ask what my coaches think!
@@BeakFoundry yeah he is a prodigy - if I do like he does, I am gonna be kicked out of the club haha
Really wonderful, great players and skill, its whats squash is about.
Best match I've ever seen from Hesham who has also developed a little "quirk" on his backhand that is quite deceiving
Cocks back his arm which is normal but then also his wrist for a final adjustment to his shot either for power or for a soft drop in the front...very tricky.
Good match up and good sport Hesham.
Hesham is unbeatable on his day
Its funny, one of the tournaments after this, Makin's mix-up game improved and he won.
Respect Hesham!
Great match.....Hesham was exceptionally deceptive...remarkable skills...
Makin doesn’t make it easy for himself - needs to add more short touch shots to his game. Too many times he just went long again when he was in front and could have killed rally. Hesham so good at turning defence into attack and was just better this time - def reduced his unforced error count too. Well played
100%, early in the first game he declined to take Hesham to the front off the boast too many times. He followed up with going short off the volley, with came out loose time and time again allowing Hesham to use his amazing deception to really hurt Makin, both on the score line, physically and mentally. Clearly, Makin not able to recover from his match against Ng.
It's a great sportsmanship shown by Hesham, intentionally serving out of court to give Makin a point he deserves, but I wonder if it was a necessary action. I mean both players were in accord about it so the ref should've simply respect their agreement over his own decision. All in all, it comes out with the same consequence anyway so I believe the ref should've just give Makin a point as both parties agreed upon. It's not like they are agreed to take 20 min break or something.
Makin was hurt by Hersham unpredictability, gosh he forced him to do alot of Sharp movements, sharp taking off....That is rough on the muscles,it causes tears to muscles and with older players who are not teens anymore... This is rough,Hersham was firing at places were most people don't. So you playing surprised at the shots most of the time....Gosh makin I felt his pain
one of the greatest victories i’ve ever seen. How was it that the referee didn’t punish Makin for time wasting?
Well, Makin was having quite some issues with his lower back, so understandably he tried to slow down a bit.
I notice a few players don't want to go all out, based on their movements on court, seems the flooring is exceptionally slippery and one can get injured if slips. Anyone notice this too ?
Please explain to me what happened at 4-4? Why did an argument occur and Hesham conceded a point?
The rally before that Makin asked for a let. Hesham initially asked for a review, then Makin clarified he wasn’t looking for a stroke just wasn’t sure where Hesham was in his swing so looking for a let for safety. Hesham agreed and they continue to play the next rally.
However, the ref heard the initial request for a review on the yes let and so the ref was going through a video review while the players were continuing to play.
We did not see that rally during the review, but Makin won that rally. However the ref said it didn’t count because the review was taking place.
Hesham was a great sportsman, and served out of court to give Makin the point for that rally which the ref didn’t count. Very gentlemanly of him.
@@baseballgenius3 thank you very much
7:07 Why did he do like that?
Basically what happened was that in the decision right before, Hesham thought that Makin was requesting stroke, but he merely wanted a let. They agreed to play the next rally. However, the ref wasn't looking because he was doing the video review for the decision, and Makin won the rally while he was looking at the review. It unfortunately didn't count for Makin because the ref wasn't there, but Hesham served it out to be nice because Makin deserved to win the rally, but didn't because the ref wasn't looking.
I hope that helps clarify what happened. Very nice from Hesham for sure!
@@albertyao7343 Thanks. So did Hesham think that was stroke, didnt he? Sorry so much.
@@uetel1120 hesham agree is a let
@@TheHilarious91 I see. Thanks so much.
Makin wasn't at his best and hesham was at his peak performance. Very deceptive in his attacks at the front
