It is what it is. The sport is of the highest intensivity of the most of sports. Individual for sure. No hiding possible using team mates. However the majority of spectators are known what the game is all about. They are a minority fraction. So it will be and stay an isolated mastepiece of sport competition.
At least in 2021 there were a few sheiks in the audience. The question stands. Even if Qatar, why is no one there. Are they doing the call to prayer? I'm not trying to be ignorant.
I agree. So disappointing to a match of such high quality. If they don't rely on tickets to recoup money then they should have given tickets away to local juniors.
I remember watching the highlights to this match and immediately afterwards paying a daily pass to SquashTV just to watch the full match. Many thanks for the upload. Epic pace!
That match was nutty af. Ibriham looks like an absolute nightmare to play. The amount of work and punishment inflicted on Shorbagy’s body in this match is nothing short of astounding.
"ElShorbagy's grit against younger giants like Yousef Ibrahim is awe-inspiring; his mix of strategic brilliance and unyielding determination to keep him dominating the 'T'.
At the tournament in Singapore this November, I was lucky enough to watch the same two athletes competing brilliantly and was very fortunate to have a photo taken with the handsome Ibrahim. He was sweaty after such an intense campaign, but remained an extremely elegant gentleman. Watching him play always reminds me of the most majestic and valiant Lion King on the hunt. (Some players' movements remind me of graceful cranes, some like cheetahs), but Ibrahim is definitely a player with the style of a beast (positive comment).
What an amazing match but omg - way too many green seats. This is the match of the year for PSA (rightly so) and its being watched by the ref, mo's girlfriend, a disinterested ceo of psa texting all match, a variety of security guards and a whole bunch of green seats!!!!!! These are 2 athlete's, no gladiators battling to the end and they do it in front of a crowd of disinterested/detached individuals. I don't even think i heard a single clap. If this was at Canary Wharf we would be going mental. Great game guys. We appreciate you 👊👊👊
Peccato vedere poco pubblico. E' uno sport spettacolare, molto veloce e tecnico.
I find ibrahim really interesting to watch but I cant tell why. Commentator mentioned he's got a lot of quirks, but I can't put my finger on them. Can anyone tell me why he's unorthodox?
I think it is more to that than simply being a left-handed. His swing, especially on forehand is unique, notice how he does not prepare his racket high. He plays topspins quite often when in front, also not happening that often in squash. Ibrahim also has some rather unique movements or footwork - he sometimes jumps a little bit to play backhand or the way he picks up his leg when going for drops/nicks. Probably you can spot even more quirks but that's what I noticed so far!
Shame about the lack of crowd. They missed out on a fantastic game. Honestly, I’d rather watch a fast paced 1 hour 30 minute game of squash than a boring 5 hour game of tennis.
Seems everytime Ibrahim plays Shorbagy nowadays he's also playing against the referee. Amongst other dodgy calls Ibrahim had racket contact with Shorbagy on a shot and struggled to get a let. Same racket contact from Shorbagy and a stroke was awarded immediately. It's pitiful when officiating has a marked effect on match outcomes. I hope Ibrahim keeps reaching for stars and is not discouraged by all this.
@@eddyedwards6273 It's a stroke same as Ibrahims racket contact with Shorbagy was a stroke as well. Also several times Shorbagy plays a shot and doesn't clear or in fact steps back into Ibrahims path. Those are very clear and should have been lets or strokes. Somehow Ibrahim was getting no lets in those situations. No good enough at all.
@@tascolino538 Also, I think Shorbagy was trying to argue that the review was invalid because the screen said "Review: Yes Let" instead of "Review: No Let" - incredibly dishonest
Why is it so empty?? Such a shame a brilliant game like this would have no audience! Ibrahim's play is so alluring ❤❤

Because it's in qatar

At 16:55, one of the most epic attacking rallies of the decade…..and there’s one guy doing a slow clap at the end.
Ibrahim is such an interesting player to watch ❤

Excellent match! The ref doing a really good job on lots of difficult situations - nice to see
Agreed. I thought the ref was pretty good.
Both guys played through everything. Ibriham tries to play every single ball possible.

Really enjoyable to watch a player who is constantly looking to score rather than the baseline endurance test a lot of players employ.
That was an absolutely brutal match!
Great thank you

Game of the year and no crowd!
LEGENDARY MATCH

Amazing game by Ibrahim, but video refree should have been more critical of cunning ways of El Shorbagy..
Ibrahim can fire the ball into any corner in like 10 different ways from any position
Ibrahim is like a fusion of Shabana and Gawad
I find ibrahim really interesting to watch but I cant tell why. Commentator mentioned he's got a lot of quirks, but I can't put my finger on them. Can anyone tell me why he's unorthodox?
The main quirk is that he plays with the left hand, very unorthodox.

Strong strong mind Mohamed on the 8 - 6
An Oscar is deserved for his trip on the last point. Great performance
Ibrahim hits so hard and he is using 115g racket, I wonder what would happen if he used Ali Farag's racket for example haha
That would be interesting but I don’t think that racket would suit his technique
4:58 wasn't that a wrong serve? Ibrahim's foot moved before he hit the ball.
Why is there almost nobody there?
wow
Shame about the lack of crowd. They missed out on a fantastic game. Honestly, I’d rather watch a fast paced 1 hour 30 minute game of squash than a boring 5 hour game of tennis.
No crowd!😊
Can the referees not see consistent blocking?
16:55
Elshorbagy is the lion
Why even bother putting an event on where there are no fans of the sport?

Totally agree, one slight contact with the racket and its a stroke, ridiculous
