True story. During the silver age, DC found that putting a gorilla on a comic cover would automatically increase sales so writers went out of their way to make as many stories incorporating gorillas as possible, even if it's for just one short contrived panel, just so they could put a gorilla on the cover. Eventually this got so out of hand that they had to enforce a rule at the company stating, and I swear this is real, that there can be no more than "one gorilla cover" per month.
His moments with Flash were really good as well. "That's for the banana..... I HATE BANANAS" "Flash? I am not Flash.... I'm Lex Luthor!!" "........and I'm Charlton Heston"
Grodd's real hook in my mind, is not the Gorilla-ness; it is his massive, bloated, towering EGO. *That* is what makes him an ideal flash Rogue; so easy for the sarcastic, cocky flash to deflate his inflated self opinion.
Hey dude. Since Mysterio is your number one favorite Spiderman villain, how about a top 5 list of your favorite Mysterio episodes for the upcoming movie, Spiderman: Far From Home ?
@@michaelraymon111 it's okay to make this kind of questions ;) after all, those cartoons are based on comic books, and Mr. Rogues has made some videos around TV shows, cartoons and movies, I was just wondering because the Ultra-Humanite's personality in that show is really different from the source material, with a sympathetic portrayal😄
The "Super Apes" from Marvel Comics should've been up there--since they're a team of super powered apes. Titano should've been able to shoot out red solar radiation from his eyes & not kryptonite. It'd still hurt Supes but it'd make a bit more sense. Plus red looks better than green against the ape's brown/black fur.
Honorable mention...Ape X from Squadron Supreme. I give her credit because...ironically...had Golden Archer not brainwashed Lady Lark into loving him, Tom Thumb would not have put in the safeguard that made the Squadron members immune to the mind altering machine... meaning that Ape X and her Institute Of Evil would have succeeded in taking over Earth 712. How come Marvel never made that a What If?
Here are other ape villains: *Cy-Gor from Image Comics, enemy of Spawn. *Brainape also from Image Comics, enemy of Savage Dragon. *Gorilla Boss from DC Comics, enemy of Batman. *The Super Apes from Marvel Comics, enemies of the Fantastic Four and allies of ther other FF villain the Red Ghost.
I love the background music you've selected for this video, I think it captures the off-beat nature of the subject very well. Anyways, Great list, I was surprised Grodd ranked relatively low but you explained your opinion very well.
It's been a while since we had one of these lists, and we haven't yet seen your top 5 favourite western-themed villains list. I'm guessing it's because you're busy with other things, hopefully it isn't that you've stopped doing these videos. But anyway, if you decide to do more of these, I have a suggestion for a top 5 themed villains list. Throughout some of your videos you've noted how you don't like the idea of a villain that keeps changing outfits and identities, well apparently there's some cases where that's a villains entire gimmick. So what I'm suggesting is more of a joke video, a list of 5 villains that keep changing their costumes and identities. This would obviously be poking fun at the theme and why it wouldn't actually work at a villain gimmick. As for any examples, you've already mentioned Calendar Man and Planet Master as examples, but I have two selections that seem to fit this perfectly, Ned Creegan and Five-In-One Foe. Both these villain's share the same gimmick of not having one supervillain identity and style but multiple ones, yet both are different from one another in a way; Ned Creegan is a more sympathetic villain that takes on three supervillain identities (Bag O'Bones, Cyclotronic Man, and One Man Meltdown) in each appearence he makes, and has surprisingly appeared in the Black Lightning TV series in his Cyclotronic Man alias; Five-In-One Foe is an ex-politician that used different villain aliases and gimmicks (despite the name he only uses 3) as part of a revenge scheme, and hasn't shown up in any other form of media. Anyway, tell me what you think of this idea, and hopefully this series isn't cancelled.
It doesn't hurt Humanite's visual aspect that his costume is one of those pseudo-Kirby ensembles created by George Perez for DC Comics, along with Lex Luthor's power-suit. I imagine I'm too late to contribute to the cowboy villain list... too bad. There's a villain of the Vigilante, the Golden Age’s cowboy-inspired hero, with an interesting history, the Lash. He started off as a modern day rustler, leading a car theft ring that he ruled with an iron fist… and a bullwhip. He posed as a crippled man having to get around on a motorized wheelchair, but that was all a feint. Hen he was brought back months later, he’d been recreated as a Latin American “bandito” stealing a variety of antiques, which it turned out all had clues to a hidden treasure somewhere… that old cliché. To be honest, I’m not sure if the earlier and latter Lashes are supposed to be the same guy, as the writing team had changed by then, but DC’s wiki age treats their appearances as by the same guy, so until someone says different, I’ll leave it like that.
I was expecting UltraUmanite. I actually don't know much about the character but I remember him from the JLA animated Series. He was so pragmatic, yet so sympathetic: like when he helps the Flash to build a present for some kids of an orphanage. "I take any opportunity to bring culture to the innocent and the undaunted". That ape had a big heart xD. top 5 Undead Supervillains What do you think? That would be an interesting list, made by you Edit: now that I think about it, I would have liked to see Armored Gorilla from One Punch Man on this list xD.

Monsieur Mallah A gun-toting super strong super smart gay French gorilla. Monsieur Mallah is just one of those beautifully insane characters you only get once in a while. He and The Brain are tied for my second favourite DC villain. Their relationship is sweet, funny and tragic all at once (why do so many of these apes have really depressing sides to them?). Gorilla Grodd immediately gets banned from my list for that time he killed them. I don't care that they're alive again, I'll still never forgive him.
