Some very cozy reads, indeed! An Old Fashioned Girl is near and dear to my heart because I read it with my great aunt Mum when I was a child and we shared a bedroom and had a hot plate and made tea in the bedroom at night and she gave me her copies of that and Under the Lilacs. This was in the 1970’s!
@@areadersalmanacwithceleste1366 oh Celeste! I love that story! What a beautiful memory to have.
Oh I love 'The Little Prince' and I love the original illustrations!!!💙
@@WaterBearReads I do too! ♥️♥️🥀
Aw! I love Daddy Long-legs! And her other books!
I'm so glad! It's divisive , I've noticed, so it is always nice to know another caballero!
So many great recommendations 💜I loved the Little Prince as a kid. It’s definitely time for a reread💜 The housekeeper and the professor sounds so charming
@@ChrissiesPurpleLibrary H&P works its way into your heart! ♥️ You would love it.😊
Yesterday I watched this video and today I stumbled across an old copy of Daddy Long-Legs. It looks so cute with drawings and everything. ❤
@@Dinadoesyoga ohhhhh, Yay! I hope you love it!🥰
I’m loving these recommendations!! 🥰🍁
OH, YAY! I hope you find something lovely to read, Bethany! ❤
i stumbled across what you are looking for is in the library at my library and loving the cover i took it home with me and i loved it and i would happily read sequels...
@@curioushmm9027 isn’t it wonderful?! Hopeful & uplifting 💗
I read Cyrano in school and enjoyed it!
@@MorgansEndlessBookshelf oh🥹 that makes me so happy, Morgan!!
So many amazing suggestions! I LOVED your recommendations. 'Out of Africa' is one of my favorite movies and I started reading the book in my twenties. I need to give it another go. Babette's Feast sounds amazing. 🍂
@@WaterBearReads I haven’t read OoA all the way through but I loved Babette❣️
I loved The Anthropocene Reviewed and I listened to the audiobook. Must re-listen to it. So many amazing recommendations here that I’ve made a note of.
@@spreadbookjoy I haven’t liked John Green’s fiction but I loved the Podcast. My old flatmate bought me the book because we liked the Podcast so much!
Some of my favourites! 🦔 barberry 👨🏫ogawa 🤴de Saint-Exupéry, the aoyama's 📚and lots I'm meaning to read, including a gentleman in Moscow.
I've only watched Bs Feast, great movie too 😊. Fab list.
@@PageTurnersWithKatja ohhh, I hope you will deeply appreciate A Gentleman ♥️ and I’d say “the book is better “ but I’ve never seen Babette’s movie ☺️
I would recommend SEPTEMBER by Rosamunde Pilcher. Louisa May Alcott wrote many good books for girls. Under The Lilacs, Eight Cousins,An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving, etc. Little Women my all time favorite since 12 yrs. old. Jo's Boys, The Scrapbook to name a few more. I don't see how ANY child could read Larkrise To Candleford on their own. Would have to be read to, but upper-elementary; my opinion. Thanks🙂
@@eileennielsen5165 Thank you.
I have enjoyed many of those Alcott novels. I chose this one because of the time of year.
I also don’t think a child could read Larkrise on their own, but I think it would make a wonderful read aloud if a parent would like to read it to their child.
Love this! What I’ve read I heartily agree. Everything you suggested sounds wonderful! You may see a “Deea Made Me Do It” TBR soon. I wish I could get my hands on one of Bjorn’s books! I have also tried to track down The Gentle Art of Domesticity.
@@kellireadsalot I can’t find more of Bjorn affordably either! 😕
The Gentle art of Domesticity I was gifted, so I haven’t looked for it. ♥️ I can’t wait to see what you choose and blame me for 😂
Great recommendations! I wondered if you watched the movie for "Babette's Feast" - if you haven't, I highly recommend it. They did such a great job of adapting the book, and it is nice to see everything play out on screen - especially since so much of it is related to food.
@@cindyr4918 you are the third recommender of the Babette movie.🤭
I haven’t watched it. I don’t really sit down to watch movies, but I may have since every one keeps saying how wonderful it is.🫰🏻
Love these recs! I need to read more cozy books and I’m in the mood for them. Have you read any Susan Branch?
@@GloriaZThompson I have! And I had just watched 2 rec videos with her Isle of Dreams and Fine Romance recommended in both videos, so I took them off my list❣️ But I love them.
❤
I have been wondering about 'The Iron Giant'. I have heard mixed reviews so wasn't sure if I should try it with my son. I loved the animated movie! Turmeric ginger is my favorite tea! I would get it loose leaf from a company called Soluna but sadly they stopped selling tea. 'Daddy Long Legs is one I keep meaning to get and read! I just found a very autumnal looking version!🍁
@@WaterBearReads You might peruse I G before reading it to him. As I said it is meant to explain a missing parent and the way society can treat children in a hard situation. So it’s difficult but heartwarming, and funny at moments, & a beautiful story in the end.
@@WaterBearReads Also, Heather, I love this blend of turmeric ginger with the meadowsweet ♥️ it’s 😋 yummy!
