I like how he got to the point and showed the whole place while demonstrating where stuff was. Glad I didn't have to sit through 10 minutes of how he researched his toilet, in this one.
I live in a carriage house with a Dutch door (split) and I never want to live without one again. I appreciate this design, because it is thoughtful. I've often thought ladders to get in and out of bed were horrible ideas. His catwalk requires more confidence at heights than I have, but the clean design and the lighting plan is splendid. The wet room bath reminds me of hotel accommodations throughout Europe. Great job.
I love how the stairs are hidden behind the wall. the upstairs area is beautiful. the catwalk looks a little nerve-wracking without some sort of plexiglass rail. I love the high ceilings and open space. very nice.
This is one of THE best tiny apt homes I've seen to date. Thank you so much for posting, now I have an idea of what I want in mine, when I build it, that is. Awesome layout!!!!
Very nice. I like how you've addressed some issues that other "tiny" house builders haven't. For example, the vacuum idea is awesome. also, the bathroom affords a little more privacy than some I've seen. Finally, I like that you have 400 square feet. It seems like some build small for the novelty of it... "how tiny can we possibly make it?" More like, how uncomfortable? Keep innovating! I love it!
Now this is my kind of comfy, opulent, half zen & half fancy dorm room, everyday style tiny house. Very well done! Love the half door, the bed area, all of it. Absolutely ingenious design!
Brilliant design, clever! And yes, most would be too uneasy with the catwalk and no it wouldn't pass code but he's designed what works for *him* - youthful, limber, good balance, clearly it meets his needs. I especially love the central vac, have no doubt it has an access panel on other side of the wall for maintenance. Blown away by how much living he's packed into this design, I've been researching for many months and this is one of the best designs I've seen! Seriously impressed. Great job!
Brendan,As soon as I saw the upstairs bathroom, I had to share this with my gf. She has been looking at quite a few. She kept sayingshe didn't want to walk downstairs in the middle of the night to pee. Now she won't have to. Thanks!!
Great little place. Love the bedroom. Wonderfully silent video instead of having really tinny, annoying background music that detracts from the beauty of the video and overloads and insults the senses! Great place. Bravo
I just watched this video for the 4th time. It really inspires me to design and build something small and, yet, have all that I need. Nice design, although I would be too scared to walk on that beam on the loft. I see ample storage spaces and unique use of spaces. The door, lights, simple but functional bathroom, built-in vacuum cleaner... everything!
He doesn't call it a "tiny house" and it is disqualified for WASTING all that space that could have been another room. He simply calls it a 'design' by someone. It's a very wasteful floor plan energy wise, and would have been significantly larger had the floor been added to the high ceiling area where the cat walk is.
bfinfinity Or maybe the open space is to give the feeling of openness? That doesn't make it wasteful. It's a personal design choice. I like the idea, and it looks good, but I'd be a little too concerned about misstepping and falling off that narrow catwalk.
a bui That weird closet area where the snowboard pulls out of is the bed. It's under bed storage. Though the bathroom could have been made larger by utilizing the odd storage area at the end of the catwalk.
Very custom for his life it seems. I would have a slightly larger kitchen instead of such a large desk area. I would also like some more seating downstairs. The bed design is nice with the large storage drawers underneath. I would also prefer the toilet outside of the shower and sacrifice the seating/storage in the bedroom. This is a very cool design. :)
Great use of space here. I live in less than 400 sqr feet, but I like this layout with the loft. The high ceiling in the living area looks spacious and frees up the energy and light. Love the wood! Yes, I agree with many of you, the little plank walkway to the music hub is a bit "sterky"!
I love the way the space was used , I hate open lofts and the way he has it makes it feel like an entirely separate room..even if guests do have to go thru the bedroom to use the bathroom , it's still much better. He even has a small stage above the living room! lol. Loved it!
The catwalk is a bit unneccessary and dangerous. You could easily climb over from the bedroom. Or maybe just create some sort of connected space to walk through.
The catwalk , mentally even just knowing its there, is another functional design that allows you to feel the place is larger than what it is. The narrow walkway allows for more of a lofty ceiling feel, also giving the feeling of space. And on one other note: dont allow this new B.S., politically correct, osha, saftey first, sue happy world to make you into a wussy. lets be honest....Grandma Moses isnt going to be the homeowner of this style of design. Its for the single, out and about hip student style. if he falls...its only 8 ft. Next time he takes the catwalk the inner voice will trigger saying,"self....dont fall its hurts!" The catwalk is genius.
indeed great concept of the walkway he has I would definitely install maybe some pipe railing to it, what a way to celebrate the first nite of house warming party ending up with a broken neck/back next day from being drunk walking up to your sky walk! lol
This is such guy's place! Awesome! I wish my man lived in a home like this, rather than us living in the same house. Enigmatic. Besides it's an obviously no wife-no kids space too. Which makes me think the person there doesn't have issues with being abandoned or alone. A perfect friend or lover! Cool.
Love the design, It does not seem like it is a small home at all. it seems so spacious. I like that you have full head height in the bedroom, it is bigger than my bedroom and more storage.
I love it!! Well, all except the wet bath. I once stayed in a small guest cottage in Italy that had one of these, and I don't know if it wasn't designed right, but the whole thing was an absolute mess! You couldn't have a towel or any clothing in there, because literally every square inch of the bathroom got soaking wet. That meant after your shower you were wiping down the entire bathroom, including all over the toilet, so it could be used as a toilet room again. Not exactly what I want to be doing after I just got clean taking a shower-cleaning the bathroom from ceiling to floor. Plus they only gave us one puny towel each for bathing-what were we supposed to use to dry off the bathroom? Additionally, when taking a shower the water poured out from under the door into the room!! I was stuffing the door bottom with my dirty clothes to prevent the nice wood floors from getting soaked!! What a God awful mess!!
I would need a washer/dryer of some kind. I might trip upstairs. Although not an issue for most people, a toilet in the shower freaks me out. I think its very cool when people make the house the way they want it. Good job Joseph.
I'm sorry but I think in the beginning where you walked on the edge on the 2nd floor is just too dangerous.... I don't care how careful someone think they are, it only takes that one tiny little slip and you could probably die or become paralyzed from the fall. Otherwise, nice little house :)
I love the design idea, instead of a desk for just computers I would have my sewing machines set up there so that I could quilt, sew or just do crafts. Plus I would have had quite a few more plants all over. I also would have had a regular bathroom, because I like nice size bathrooms. Id like the plans so that one day I too can have this house design!!!
This home or apts remind me of some of the homes in Brazil ( micro aptos) . This one is one of the most unique and cool tiny but still not cramped up space I have seen so far, the catwalk is actually the solid wood spot light beam he was walking on, pretty cool. If I could ever afford to buy land I would definitely hire this guy.
I like how he got to the point and showed the whole place while demonstrating where stuff was. Glad I didn't have to sit through 10 minutes of how he researched his toilet, in this one.
I've been on a tiny house RUclips streak, and i gotta say this is one of the coolest
Yeah me too
Roy Wardenaar Sameeee!!!!
You and me both that is the cutest little 400 ft apartment I've ever seen totally unique 💯

Thank god he moved the plant I hated where it was lol
lol
Julian Roberts lol
lmbo
+Julian Roberts I can't stop laughing at your comment.
LOL thought I was the only one who noticed. Like what was that for??
Very nice. I like how you've addressed some issues that other "tiny" house builders haven't. This is the best small house design I have seen!
agreed
Absolutely the best one I've seen.
Yep the best
it has a high ceiling. Assume the guy is 180cm and there is 15cm left, then the ceiling is 390cm high. That make it more space for the room.
who gives this a thumbs down, this place is a great little home with very good use of space. Huge thumbs up
Love this design...except for the walk of death to the music area
whatever, it's highly unlikely that you would die from that height but you'd sure feel the pain!! 🤕
It's possible though. It just takes landing at the wrong angle to break your neck or something, even if the fall is only one floor.
More like walk of nasty pain!
You would think they make the walkway wider with some railing for safety.
You can fix that by filling the first floor full of packing peanuts or bubble wrap.
Now this is my kind of comfy, opulent, half zen & half fancy dorm room, everyday style tiny house. Very well done! Love the half door, the bed area, all of it. Absolutely ingenious design!
one if the best small living spaces ever!!! I totally love it. great job!
ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS!!
The presentation/demo is exceptional.
Wow!! This is tightest design I've seen.
The space is absolutely fantabulous!
first reaction: "YAY! no obnoxious song!"
second: "this is getting kinda creepy..."
that being said, i'm definitely glad that plant was moved.
lol
LMAO!
I love the quiet, the smart design of vacuum-cleaner, and the beautifully tiled washroom.
Brilliant design, clever! And yes, most would be too uneasy with the catwalk and no it wouldn't pass code but he's designed what works for *him* - youthful, limber, good balance, clearly it meets his needs. Fabulous design. Opens up so many possibilities for similar spaces. Love the split door. :)
Great little place. Love the bedroom. Wonderfully silent video instead of having really tinny, annoying background music that detracts from the beauty of the video and overloads and insults the senses!
Great place. Bravo
😍😍😍😍😍Love how big it feels & the access to so much natural lighting!
Thanks for showing and not telling. I get the space so much better this way, thank you.
This is inspirational, I love the layout and functionality. Great job!
I like this place a lot. I have no real complaints except he's just tracking more dirt with his outdoor shoes while he vacuums. THUMBS UP THOUGH :D
Lol. The vacuum is insanely cool. Did not see that coming. Awesome!
This is a phenomenal use of space. I'm really impressed with the stairs, since most tiny homes rely on ladders. The teensy studio is a great touch.
One of the coolest I've seen but I think I would do a spiral staircase and a bigger bathroom
This is the coolest tiny house I've seen. Great layout!
Love, Love, Love it!!!! Your are amazing Joe!!!!
I just watched this video for the 4th time. It really inspires me to design and build something small and, yet, have all that I need. Absolutely AWESOME! This is a totally masculine space with some surprising perks. Well done!!!
Almost forgot! Of course, my favorite part is the catwalk across entire length of house. Very handy and useful, unique extra!!!
most awesome tiny house I have ever seen!

bfinfinity i agree. Bathroom is tiny also because of that weird closet area where a snowboard pulls out of the drawer.
a bui That weird closet area where the snowboard pulls out of is the bed. It's under bed storage.
Though the bathroom could have been made larger by utilizing the odd storage area at the end of the catwalk.
This is by far the nicest tiny house I've seen!
You did an amazing job, I love the vacuum , you little neat freak.... love it
Do not drink alcohol if you choose to live here.
at least when you're planning to play in the music corner
It appears to be just a storage area.
nay, that definetively IS the playing corner ;)
Or drinking game area. Who can fall out first.
tucnasam You made me REALLY laugh! Thanks. :)
Really cool and I like how you found a way to include very specific storage to suit your needs like the snowboard drawer.
Might possibly be my favorite tiny house ever!
Very, very nice. Love the vacuum...great touch!
This place is completely AWESOME!
Amazing! I especially love the upstairs!
I love it.. love the long drawers up stairs, I would have to put a railing at my age, but you did an amazing job, well done...
Very cool. I like the walkway above, different. The bathroom is great. Excellent design. Thanks for sharing.
I love your design! You have made some excellent creations! Thanks for sharing your home with us! Blessings... :-)
really nice use of space and lighting. really like the can lights and the vacuum.
This is one of the best Tiny Houses, I have seen on RUclips mang, awesome job.....
The best mini house i seen, thanks for sharing
one of the best I've seen. Congratulations!
It's not my aesthetic but it's still cool. My cats would love the cat walk but I wouldn't dare walk on it myself.
How practical is having the vacuum embedded in the wall? Any maintenance issues? How do you change the filter?
Go outside, take it out of the vacuum cleaner and so on. I don't think it's locked in ghe wall.
That cat walk is an awesome part of the overall design.
Marvelous.... Extremely impressed.... I am inspired to make home like yours. Thank you for sharing such creative house.
Beautiful! Can tell a lot of time & energy building your tiny house! Good job!
Is it only just me?, the video has no sounds
+Eric Harrison the video is silent, it says in the description
He was afraid of walking the catwalk and someone yelling, "Boo!"
Amazing great use of space. I really like the catwalk.

with my Vertigo,it's an accident waiting to happen..
true, but that's also where he installed the lights
Love it Brendan !
Thanks Tom!
Splendida , un equilibrio perfetto fra eleganza e praticità, un miracolo!
totally AWESOME!!!...I just LOVE this!!!....WOW!!!
Wow, this is beautiful. Thanks for sharing

Great design! The only thing I would change is adding a support to the beam you walk on, it already is sloping when he walks on it :-o
Agreed. I noticed it bouncing a bit myself!
The board having spring in it doesn't mean it's going to collapse. It is nerve-wrecking to watch, though.
This is amazing! I'd like to leave here!
Love this so much!!!
By far the neatest!
Looks amazing . Although it's small it looks big and roomy
Finally, a small space my cat and I could comfortably live in.
This is so unique so spacious I love it.
love it....very well designed!
Wow great home! Well done!
beautifully designed. A very liveable space.
This is so cool, so creative.
That's like the best house I have ever seen... But single life....
Love the design, It does not seem like it is a small home at all. it seems so spacious.

That catwalk 😍😍😍 My cat will be happy to live here with me
I can see myself falling right into the living room!
wow! this is much more u can say a house, more space, love it.
Very cool - Well done! The bathroom must be Public pool inspired- Very cool. The rest is very Well planned out space usage.
This house is LUXURY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best tiny home every so cool!
I would need a washer/dryer of some kind. I might trip upstairs. Although not an issue for most people, a toilet in the shower freaks me out. I think its very cool when people make the house the way they want it. Good job Joseph.
great design and really personalized, like it
Very different, interesting I don't like loft beds, but love the way they did this!
what a beautiful well planned house
so nice not having some amateur munt on about there life story !!! best vid iv seen!
I'm sorry but I think in the beginning where you walked on the edge on the 2nd floor is just too dangerous.... I don't care how careful someone think they are, it only takes that one tiny little slip and you could probably die or become paralyzed from the fall. Otherwise, nice little house :)
The future of housing, I love it.
Is it weird that I started to imagine the sounds?
Hopefully not
Best design. I really like your design;)
Keep it up always.
All the best.
Love that the bathroom is by the bedroom. :)
The vacuum built into the wall is sexy as hell. I want to build something like this! Wonderful design!
Space seems so much bigger. I like the levels.
Wow! Awesome!
I love this tiny house this one is the coolest one
0:48 but it bends though. Don't gain any weight.
I love the design idea, instead of a desk for just computers I would have my sewing machines set up there so that I could quilt, sew or just do crafts.
