No the F-35 has SEAD clearly stated as a mission type. The name of the game is standoff munitions, you don't send a 3 billion dollar B-2 (especially with only 20 in service) to do the job a $80 million F-35 can do, and you don't send either when a cruise missile can do it. There is not only one platform used for SEAD but future Nato and US plans rely heavily on the F-35 using it's stealth and network sensor suite with long range standoff weapons to take out enemy air defenses.

Thomas Affolter We can only afford 37 of these machines as they are hugely expensive. The RNLAF wants to acquire another 15 . That is a far cry from the 213 F16’s we initially bought 40 years ago. I really hope the F35 lives up to all requirements. I saw the same display the following day. The F16’s climbed out the same way as on the video. But the F35’s elected to go almost straight up displaying its profile and I was hooked!
Well i think Russia actually can design a jet that is better since the F35 has a lot of flaws. The problem Russia has is that it's a broke country with a lot of lazy and corrupted people.
+MrSkyl1ne the F35 is a new plane of course there will be problems along the way but that's normal, this plane is way more advance than anything Russia has or will have for the next 30 years, it will only get better for the F35
The F-35 is awful..and has proven to be so. The Russians just don't waste their money on developing this shit. It is infinitely more practical and cost effective to design radar and targeting systems that can track multi-billion dollar piles of junk and shoot them down. It's unknown if Russia or China have the capability to EFFECTIVELY target a modern stealth jet, but they FOR SURE can see them coming and make last minute preparations, like getting interceptors in the air. You make it sound like the U.S. has complete and total impunity. The Russians aren't as advanced, but they aren't pushovers. They'd down at least some B-2s and F-22s if they entered Russian airspace. Pretty big gamble to play with aircraft that cost $2.4B and $160M apiece (respectively)...especially considering that they know exactly how many they are dealing with (20 B-2s and 187 F-22s) Knowing the strength and how to find them once airborne is half the battle. BTW, the F-22 is fucking incredible. It's a slam dunk. The F-35 is a turd....and no matter what you do, you can't polish one of those.
ohhh man, I'm going to the Air Tattoo next week and a couple of these bad boys will be doing a display, as well as a few Raptors. I cannot wait. This video has got me even more worked up. thanks for sharing.
Lockheed Martin is one of the best in the business designing/building exceptional Aircrafts! Anyone know if the Dutch are going to be licensed to build F-35's at home, or are they just importing them?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAI_TFX TAI knows how to make a F-35 thanks to their cooperation in the F-35 program. However, TAI also had cooperated with SAAB and EuroJET to get knowledge from them. So in the end it's a mixture of an Eurofighter, SAAB and a F-35, but then completely "Made in Turkey".
+Moist Gaming yep hopefully things may change in the future. Kinda gutted that the hunter pilot has not gone to jail for his stupid act. Things have gone very quiet about that.
Scott Hopkins probably not, was talking to Kirsty, one of the blades pilots at farnborough, she said the restrictions are permanent apart from air shows over water
Scott Hopkins I got to go to the blades VIP tent at farnborough for free which was lucky, free food and drinks, but the show was disappointing like you say
The F-35 isnt unmaneuverable as you can see clearly in this video, infact the F-35 will become more maneuverable when block 8 of the aircraft gets introduced, and its new thrust vectoring engine also becomes available in the yer 2020 or so.
Why would you need thrust vectoring when the plane is stealth and has a good radar? TV is just a "nice and cool" thing. Have you seen the movies of the Su-35 in the Paris airshow? When doing that kind of moves in a close dogfight you're screwed. You're never alone, so when one Su-35 is turning like a "falling leaf" and lost all of his energy, the second F-35 will propably shoot it with a AIM-9X or his guns....
Fuck lol, Russia must be shitting bricks to pay this many trolls. For the record, a Russian Mig designer did a small documentary on here about the F35 and praised it for what it was. The Russian Air Force has admitted it is WAY behind in Aircraft design now. The T50 will only have 8 prototypes and the Russians won't sell it because they want it to be their Front Line fighter. The Russians have however beefed up and created the finest Surface to Air Missle systems and radars in the world. Which may or may not be able to shoot down the F35 and F22. They won't be able to test that out any time soon. They have to base it on theory and insider knowledge. Russia makes great Jets, but they are still Dog Fighters. The Raptor and F35 are BVR fighters.
Russian trolls? I'm American. The F-22, by the way, which is also made by Lockheed Martin (as is the F-35 & F-16), is a stunningly incredible airplane. The F-35 is a TRILLION dollar welfare program for people in Texas who fabricate it. It's a completely worthless aircraft...and its supposed to REPLACE almost everything in NATO's inventory. The F-35 is SUPPOSED to be a 1-for-1 replacement for the following aircraft: F/A-18 Hornet, F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Warthog, AV-8B Harrier II. Yeah, good strategy. The Harrier is a pile of shit, too, so replacing it with the F-35 is a zero-sum exercise, but the other 3 planes mentioned are VASTLY superior platforms than the F-35. They are proven to be.
Like no car can replace Ferrari, a van, and a semi trailer at the same time, so can the F35 only adopt tiny things of planes it should replace. The overall result will be disappointing.
The Russians praising their enemies jets. LOL In Russian eyes that is as much as an defeat. And when you know how the Russians fight a war, you know it's not going to be that way. Russians never retreat, never give up, fight with the weapons they got, even when they are not that fancy. And they never praise their enemies without reason. They are more of a soldiers as us weekend warriors, with our electronic gimmicks. And no, I'm not paid by the Russians.
4 minutes in, and for a video meant to focus on the F-35, there's a pretty excessive amount of F-16 footage. edit: Just finished screening, and it's *majority* featuring the F-16, with virtually cameos by the F-35. Disappointed. :(

dit lijkt zagt geluid maar toen ik er was het knapte zo hard door je lijf heen ik kreeg gewoon kippe vel van
Great airplane. A significant number of these for the Dutch Air Force will be a good element of security in Europe.
@@cf6282 tussen 48 en 61 is het nu mooi en met de nieuwe transport vliegtuigen die defensie dit jaar zal krijgen
I was there .. and have been for several years .and a bit more than that as well.
First they have an Apache pilot doing stunts, now this. Incredible
Hele gave video. Mooi in beeld gebracht allemaal.
That turn at 2:50 looked pretty tight to me.
Yeah, thanks for watching
I was thinking the same exact thing. Best vid out there showing its turning ability.
Like the display with the flairs and Fire should do more of that at the tattoo
Why didn't the F-35 go to the airshow in Skrydstrup Denmark on june 16th ???
They are back in America, were in NL for just 3 weeks and will not return before 2019
see some Russian haters on here..lol,there's nothing any country can design that comes even close to the f35s capabilities...
Come close... From top or bottom end of the scale?
Well i think Russia actually can design a jet that is better since the F35 has a lot of flaws. The problem Russia has is that it's a broke country with a lot of lazy and corrupted people.
+MrSkyl1ne the F35 is a new plane of course there will be problems along the way but that's normal, this plane is way more advance than anything Russia has or will have for the next 30 years, it will only get better for the F35
More like Yak-141.
So,.... any news?
2:55 seems to me it's WAY more agile then people think.
I still think the F-16 Fighting Falcon is the most beautiful jet.
ohhh man, I'm going to the Air Tattoo next week and a couple of these bad boys will be doing a display, as well as a few Raptors. I cannot wait. This video has got me even more worked up. thanks for sharing.
From those of us out here in the Arizona desert.... MORE MORE MORE!!!!!
the most advanced weapons delivery system in the world!. .period
Great vid man ;) Watched the whole thing.
Thanks for watching :-)
Lockheed Martin is one of the best in the business designing/building exceptional Aircrafts! Anyone know if the Dutch are going to be licensed to build F-35's at home, or are they just importing them?
Just importing ☝️
@@DjiAviation Gotcha. Thanks for the reply!!! 👍
I love how the spitfires merlin can be heard over the jets at 7.54. Did I see Czech markings on the F16s as they were landing?
looks like Czech, but they are dutch markings
Don't disrespect the Spitfire.
For what reason?
Wow, That was a long time ago. Get over it.
Saved during the battle of Britain? If you mean by the Spitfire then you're correct :)))
Turkish TFX is a replication of the F-35 or a completely different fighter jet? ...if anyone can answer this ? thank you
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAI_TFX TAI knows how to make a F-35 thanks to their cooperation in the F-35 program. However, TAI also had cooperated with SAAB and EuroJET to get knowledge from them. So in the end it's a mixture of an Eurofighter, SAAB and a F-35, but then completely "Made in Turkey".
tx
Got F-16s?
Hell yeah
Dman that F-35 has a AOA at low Speed - It must be hard to see over the Nose by 250kts! Wonder how hard it is to turn below 300kts!
You can look though the plane using the new helmet.
Oh, flying Dutch men! 😎
I guess the "Massive..." was ment to lure more viewers huh? Cause this is not a massive air show. I mean, how much planes were in this demonstration?
Amazing video, looks like an awesome event. I watch some of the livestream of this, a lot of people turned up :o Liked!
Thanks a lot
at 2.44 wow that is a small turn radius, even smaller than the F16
I was there that day, loved the displays :)
Why don't we get this sort of display in the UK Farnborough was disappointing this year (2016) we never get anything like this this is amazing
Scott Hopkins restrictions after the hunter crash has made every airshow from now on bad
+Moist Gaming shame tickets are expensive and I like to see things close. I wonder if going abroad in Europe may help
Scott Hopkins I got to go to the blades VIP tent at farnborough for free which was lucky, free food and drinks, but the show was disappointing like you say
Super Show, wir waren da!!
The F-35 isnt unmaneuverable as you can see clearly in this video, infact the F-35 will become more maneuverable when block 8 of the aircraft gets introduced, and its new thrust vectoring engine also becomes available in the yer 2020 or so.
It still looks like a penguin. But a flying penguin. American engineers have proved that penguins can fly like F16s. LOL
LeadMeTo What are you even talking about look at that tight turn Its taking!
I know there are still kinks in the system, but are the Dutch really ok with it?
Brian Woods 80%...
+lairdriver Yep, exactly what you said! Right on all accounts!
Oh yeah, because the F-22 was sooo cheap, didn't replace anything & is soooo useful. You have no idea.
The Russians praising their enemies jets. LOL
In Russian eyes that is as much as an defeat.
At 7:40 I died. The F-35 is about to stall because it has to follow the Propeler at the same speed ;))
Cool Show Thank You!
Deze jongens hebben meer G's getrokken dan CJ in grove street.
Why did dutch buy f-35? Are they implying that eurofighter is inferior?
The Eurofighter has a twin engine, which is deemed too expensive to fly, by the dutch.
I AM so proud tot be dutch
We do not have a big army but we are a support to any one..
Yep, like Srebrenica
@@nikostorm5399 I respect that
nice turn at 2:43
Maksudnya kalau pakai rudder bisa fly by wing
It's going to be great to see them replace the older planes
They just did a month ago
When will the Russian version of the F35 come out?
It's came out long time ago..., it's name is YAK-141
+hawkhack lynx (Holy shit, I totally forgot the full stop)
Russia don't have money to build something like that. But they do have some good engineers and aviation masters.
My country!! 🇳🇱
The sound of the f35 is nicer then the f16.
Did i read Massive Dutch Airforce?
no, you read Massive DISPLAY.
I didn't even know that we had so many jets i think that was VERY expensive!!
7:58 i see that heli with 2 propellors sometimes fly over my house😀
De F-16 ziet er zo veel beter uit!
how come you never see it do anything other than fly simple circles
because it doesnt have to do anything else, those loopy 360 shits the Russains do wont do jack shit in combat
I don't hate the 35. What made me dislike it was being a decade behind schedule.
Great footage!
If there is DUTCH in the commends half of the netherlands is watching the video.... so am i;)
4 minutes in, and for a video meant to focus on the F-35, there's a pretty excessive amount of F-16 footage.
edit: Just finished screening, and it's *majority* featuring the F-16, with virtually cameos by the F-35. Disappointed. :(
I still love the Super marine Spitfire
