      @@alanduncan1980 Lol the product Madonna was very hot in those days fresh on the scene the late 70's & 80's were theeeeeeeeeeeee golden age for electroinc synth dance music the battle edging out but also fusing the great Disco era. What a time!!! You just had to get 'into the groove' - shame Madonna became a Hollywood Echo chamber to sell her soul to the devil as she aged like a worn out leather Baphomet suite from MFI & Lee Longlands cast off furtniture (oooh controversial lol). Still I played her first LP album to death at the time, perfect to get you in the mood before a night out on the town and clubbling when you didnt need to remortgage to buy a full roiund of drinks or show your DNA scanned like a product code a vax certificate cash was king. I wouldnt' say I was 'Mad on her' but the Catholic church were 'virgin' on being ridiculous to be embarassed by her Top of the Pops dance routine with hairy legs & armpits if I recall no sweat.

      I just think it’s cool that it’s basically just a break beat. Man, music was just so much cooler back then. I mean, this is a pop song. And it’s friggin’ cool! Hip hop was something new. It wasn’t completely overrun by the vultures. It hadn’t yet been made a mockery of. I’m not only glad I was alive then, I’m glad I was a child in NYC of all places. It was during the 80’s what San Francisco was during the 60’s. The epicenter of cultural movements. You could feel the energy. Nowadays you can barely even see traces of that. Still a vibrant city, but nothing like it was when Madonna could be heard all over the place.

    • @GuyGamer1
      @GuyGamer1 Год назад +10

      It is indeed from the minimoog... but all these analog synths can produce extremely similar sounds. I'm liking the sound the Juno here more, but that could be a lot of factors other than the synth, from processing to just pure loudness.

    • @Valmont2001
      @Valmont2001  Год назад +23

      Minimoog could make sense - it defo can sound like that - but it would be (to my simple opinion) weird in an aesthetic & technological perspective. The song was produced with toptier technologies of the moment centered around a MSQ700, so rather MIDI, DCB and timecode sync ; typically what a Minimoog doesn't have. Lots of the tracks were sampled with an Emulator II, I sometimes believe the bass would have been sampled too, which would give this super rigid sound. The Minimoog phases out a lot when you play it, it can't be that regular! If the original producer says it was a Minimoog, then I'd rather think it was a sampled one x) But as the other instruments were Obis and Junos only, it seemed logical the bass would come from a 106 too...

      Nothing cheesy about the unadulterated electronic beauty of vintage analog synths. They got ditched during the digital age because they couldn’t accurately emulate “real” instruments; they always sounded electronic, always like … synths?
      But I think now most of us realize that the fact that they couldn’t sound like “real” instruments is the whole point. The pure, raw electronic sound of analog synths is beautiful.

    • @XenoghostTV
