Thank you data professor. I’m a beginner in data analysis. I have little or no knowledge in it. Is the use of excel important as a beginner in data analysis? Which programming language do you recommend that I use?
Excel is indeed useful, normally I would use Excel and its many useful functions to implement the first working procedure to see if the end result is what I need, afterwards I can automate this with R or Python. Hope this helps. Python has more available resources and tutorials and thus would recommend to learn to use on your projects.
Data Professor thank you sir. I’m about to start a career in data analysis. I just started the KPMG and ANZ online internship, and it’s really difficult for me. Any excel tutorials you could recommend? Or what do you suggest that I do?
First of all i am not in University right now it will take 2 more year to get There. But i know python solved some problem in hackerrank and i always have been interested in data science.Because my background is business i am gone be take economics as my bachlor degree. So what do you would it be possible to come out as a data scientist after finishing my bachlor degree Looking forward to heard from you
Hi Niloy, I would recommend you first learn a programming language (R or Python). Start some personal data science project and start building a data science portfolio. Then while you are doing your bachelors degree, I would recommend you to continue to build your data science portfolio. I made a video about building data science portfolio, please have a look at ruclips.net/video/fCXBaEnPzgo/видео.html I've written a roadmap article on beginning data science journey, please check that out towardsdatascience.com/10-things-i-wish-i-knew-about-learning-data-science-7a30bfb91759
Thank you for video! I am new on data science path and I am looking for some guidance. A little about me, i graduated with Business and Accounting bacherlor and I came across the idea of data science, for me it seems fascinating career. So few month back I started digging in and managed to finish SQL Bootcamp from udemy and successfully started 365DataScience course. My question would be about starting data science master's to have advantage in the field, knowing that this particular degree requirement is just honours degree in any field. What do you think?
Kestas, Thanks for watching! Great question! You'll probably have to do a pros and cons checklist to weight in the various options that you have in hand. Factors to consider are the costs of the Masters degree, what you will gain from the Masters, will it advance your transition to data science?, etc. Instead of pursuing a Masters (which may take 2 years or more), have you considered doing an internship that is related to Data analytics or Data science. I've related a video on doing a virtual internship with KPMG (ruclips.net/video/kzooaiCsz5k/видео.html) but that is a start. If possible, if you could immerse yourself to doing data science/analytics on a day-to-day basis via internships or by doing data science projects and building up your portfolio, that would take you towards your goal of getting into data science. Hope this helps.
@@DataProfessor, thank you for your response. It is valuable information. I definitely will look in to and consider every aspect of it. That degree that I am talking about is from Birkbeck, University of London (www.bbk.ac.uk/study/2020/postgraduate/programmes/TMSDATSC_C/) it takes only a year which I think could be strong statement towards further studies and finding a job. I really value your opinion. Thank you.
Love your videos. It's cool to see someone genuinely passionate about data science and it's clear how much effort you put into the content of these videos, as well as your articles on Medium. Hi sir, Thank you for your amazing content. I'm currently a CS student. I have no mentor or who let me know what to do so I'm confused, from learn Python as a first language a year ago (not really understand and couldn't built anything). From want to become a data scientist( want to do AI project, then relize I was so naive), to want to do app, then learn about Web. So do you think that If I want to do web by python ( because I really want to do something now and learn python at the same time @@) and then learn python to become a data scientist( to do something bigger) is a good idea :( I'm just a community college student, I just learn from course from website :( I know my question is confusing, too.
Thanks Justin for your kind words. When I first started out, I was also in a state of confusion when following programming books which teaches abstract concepts which may seem a bit far fetched from our own domain of expertise or interest. I think that soon we lose interest and become demotivated to learn coding. At the time, I then realized that there was no book that would serve my goals and so I set out to solve my own biomedical data problems by searching on Stack Overflow. I did this by breaking down my data problem into bite-sized tasks and solving those small tasks one by one, then at the same time, piecing them together into a workflow. To help you get started, I plan on having more in-depth tutorials and would use real-world data (in biology, but don't worry, I'll simplify it as much as possible). Please subscribe to this channel and hit the notification bell for future videos. Thanks for your support!
@@DataProfessor Quite good answer! That is probably the best way to get into it and stay motivated. Dive into some actual projects and find solutions for every little problem-part. At the beginning it even helps to just copy-code some example projects.
Languages are just tools. If you learn "why" you're doing something rather than "what" to do, then you will find you're much more able to find the solutions. I'm studying it full time at uni and there's a very heavy emphasis on learning statistics, and a fair few data scientists I know in the field were mathematics majors who picked up the programming only to do their mathematics better.
I am a mechanical graduate and now I am studying data science now...do you know any domain where my knowledge of data science and mechanical can be efficiently used Sir??
Hi, thanks for your comment. The first thing that comes to mind on how you can apply data science to mechanical engineering is something along the line of driverless car or smart robotics that is self-aware of its surroundings (via the use of sensors that generate data that serve as triggers or thresholds for an machine learning model to make decisions or predictions). The possibilities are endless! If you can blend in IOT, mechanical engineering and data science you can innovate and create life-changing innovation. It's great that you are embracing data science 😀
Thank you professor for your kind guidance. I would like to count on your opinion in how deep we should go at the learning on Python because the offer on this matter available seems to be vast. There are some courses that seem to be address directly the field of Python in Data Science for creating models. However, there are others which offer subjects such as data structures, data analysis, 3DModeling, functions files and dictionaries, etc,
Very useful information about becoming Data Scientist. I eagerly want to learn this. Sir, I'm now doing Masters in Computer Application, and i know basic of python. From where will i start my Data Science lessons ? Please help me. 😊
I would recommend to start with the basics. If you could choose 3 libraries to learn, start with pandas, scikit-learn and seaborn (or matplotlib or plotly).

@Data professor: I just watched the live session ,pretty useful, I have a query that I want to start my career in data science how can I start regarding the course .....I mean that how should I start✋✋✋✋✋
Hi Varun, I've written a roadmap article in Towards Data Science with 10 practical advices that you can use to take your first steps in starting your data science journey towardsdatascience.com/10-things-i-wish-i-knew-about-learning-data-science-7a30bfb91759
How many years did you spent before you became a complete Data Scientist?.
My background is in computational science and did some statistical research in uncertainty quantification during my Postdoc (in Matlab and C). So my transition to data science is much smoother. But there is still so much more to learn! I am learning new things every single day through hands-on programming.
Thanks for your comment. Certainly nice to learn of your journey in data science. I just subscribed to your channel, remembered seeing the cool animated bar plot coded in R a week ago from your channel.

Great video..I have recently graduated from Maths background and will be pursuing masters in the same field. But, my ulterior motive is to become a data scientist. Recently, I tried to develop my Python skills from udemy amd now I'm pursuing a data science course also from udemy. I am hoping to find an internship to understand amd learn the job of a data scientist
You're on the right track of becoming a data scientist. Keep at it and you'll get that data scientist job!

So what do you would it be possible to come out as a data scientist after finishing my bachlor degree
Looking forward to heard from you
Hi Niloy, I would recommend you first learn a programming language (R or Python). Start some personal data science project and start building a data science portfolio. Then while you are doing your bachelors degree, I would recommend you to continue to build your data science portfolio. I made a video about building data science portfolio, please have a look at ruclips.net/video/fCXBaEnPzgo/видео.html

@@DataProfessor Thank you for the reply.stay safe and bless!
Data science is a tool that people in all walks of life can utilize and you make it seem so non-threatening. I've recently lost my job in business intelligence, but these videos are giving me motivation to turn this into an opportunity to hopefully land an even better job, and i've been putting in the work to gain the skills and knowledge I need to do that (finishing up a bootcamp and planning on putting together a data science project to show prospective employers).
Thanks for sharing your story, your positive mindset will take you to your goals, keep on progressing on your data science project, it would surely give you the competitive edge.
Appreciate this video! I'm not a CS or DA major either, but considering to pursue DA as my career. This video helps a lot!

thanks virtual mentor. i already ran my first machine learning model in R
Fantastic!
Hi sir,
Thank you for your amazing content. I'm currently a CS student. I have no mentor or who let me know what to do so I'm confused, from learn Python as a first language a year ago (not really understand and couldn't built anything). From want to become a data scientist( want to do AI project, then relize I was so naive), to want to do app, then learn about Web. So do you think that If I want to do web by python ( because I really want to do something now and learn python at the same time @@) and then learn python to become a data scientist( to do something bigger) is a good idea :( I'm just a community college student, I just learn from course from website :(
I know my question is confusing, too.
@@jeffersonjones7863 Thanks for your comment, couldn't have said it better :)
@@orderinchaos Well said. Learning with a purpose. 😊

Sir,
I'm now doing Masters in Computer Application, and i know basic of python. From where will i start my Data Science lessons ?
Please help me. 😊
Hi, I’ve summarized the roadmap on getting started in data science in this article link.medium.com/aG8PlZXfv8
Thank You 😊
As a beginner which one learn first? Scikit-learn, keras or tenserflow..
I would recommend to start with the basics. If you could choose 3 libraries to learn, start with pandas, scikit-learn and seaborn (or matplotlib or plotly).
@@DataProfessor Thank you..

hi sir currently i'm doing my pg in data science and i'm from india
Hi Alisha, thanks for commenting, if there is a particular topic you would like me to cover, please feel free to suggest.
Hi Data Professor, do you have any tutorials or practical for numpy?
I am very weak in chemistry, having a very hard time understanding all these compounds, though my data science basic concepts are clear.
That's perfectly fine, acquire just enough domain knowledge for model interpretation in order to draw insights from the data.
@@DataProfessor ok sir, will try my best
