With Erik Ten Hag’s job in question with United having statistically one of their worse ever Premier League seasons, managers are starting to be earmarked for the United job with one of them being the well travelled Thomas Tuchel. United’s strike rate on managers since Fergie has been underwhelming to say the least and the jeopardy behind each appointment is beginning to grow as the fans and club become more and more desperate - Thomas Tuchel is a great manager within his own right but you can’t help but wonder whether the United job has become a bit of a poisoned chalice. Tuchel also DOES have a few concerns to consider also, so let’s talk about the worry with Thomas Tuchel...

We want time for a new manager yet some only want to give ten hag two years and one of those was good. The second was 60+ injuries and off form players. I think the solution to this man utd mess is to fire Ten Hag NOW!!! because he has lost the dressing room, rarely uses youth, a rigid coach who uses the same sytem every time despite failure & doesn't like squad rotation, then on temporary basis bring a good vibes coach to pamper these prima donnas they might finish top 6 then in summer bring a no nonsense coach like De Zerbi & carry out a PROPER CLEAR OUT. One good thing with De Zerbi is he can do wonders with youth and average players....united won't require superstar signings he will work with talents like Openda, Jonathan Davids, Ivan Toney, Vlahovic, Brahim Diaz, Dyabala 12million release clause ,Sergej Milenkovic, Ousmane Diomande, amadou onana; amadou haidara from Leipzig who happens to be a man utd fan, Johan bakayoko, zubimendi, Latin America talent, replace Rashford with mitoma, Neco Williams or Leao etc

I know this season has been rough but I honestly feel that bringing any new manager in just puts us back to square 1 and in 2 years time we’ll start the whole thing again. Let Ten Hag have the time required to move out the deadwood and bring in a squad that functions as a team. If he’s still not good enough then at least the new manager will have a functioning squad to work with instead of the patchwork quilt of a squad we’ve seen for the last 10 years.

So when his team at Ajax were playing, it was something special. It wasn’t something you could attribute to a team of that age because they were really young or the financial resources; it was incredible.
“They were up there with the best teams I’ve ever seen play. You know most of those teams in recent times have been associated with Pep [Guardiola]. Of course, there were other managers as well. He was one of them, you know for sure.”
“It’s not like we go out for coffees or anything, but I have followed his trajectory, and he’s one of those reference coaches. That’s the reality of it. It goes a little bit against the trend right now, but I’m telling the truth.”

What he cannot do anything about is the level of fitness as we have seen the list of injuries, the push back from players on the intensity of training. I don't want a new manaher discussion at all. It should be pretty clear by now that the 90% of the problems lies elsewhere. The club and the players are mostly responsible. Manager can take the remaining 10% blame in my opinion. We are repeating the same cycle with this.

Mourinho is looking like the best option if the Owners have made their mind up about Ten Hag out

Less bad than the other names mentioned but not close to what we were looking for when ETH came in - culture, style of play, youngsters etc for the longer term. We'd be going for ETH were he still at Ajax.

Maybe short termism right now isn’t the worst thing. I’d say let the changes upstairs take place and wait for people to come in from their gardening leave. And then give em some time to bed in and get everything running as a well oiled machine before going for that long term manager. Because if that long term guy comes in this summer and start at the same time as, or even before the CEO, DOF etc. I don’t think they stand a chance.

Hold off another year. Let the back room staff bed in and then look at where we’re at.

@@IR._ so we pay off 1 manager bring in another who doesn’t understand anything and has proven he’s a short term maybe do things maybe not because nothing he’s shown has made me go wow he’s good, and then we pay him off to get another in after he ultimately doest finish his contract either. Fans like you are the absolute worst

@@lloydgiles4816 I didn’t say Tuchel was the answer. I don’t think he is. I think we should treat Ten Hag as a bit of a caretaker manager, have him at the helm for next season and reassess this time next year. Probably bring in a proper manager then, not Tuchel. We bring in a top manager now, they’ll fail just like all the other managers we’ve had post fergie because the structure isn’t in place yet and it’ll just set back the whole process

    • @lloydgiles4816

@@IR._ that short termism, we have to allow a manager to build. We’re not a winning team anymore and just plugging gaps with managers hoping they fit the squad is messy. If we don’t see a future with ETH we cut ties but if we do we back him and a bigger longer term project. Our squad has been awful this season and individuals have bailed us out. Not sure with exception of some question sub choices and not trying to dig his players out in the media which is ironic really given the Sancho thing what was he supposed to do this year

Love Ten Hag but think he's gone in the summer. I'd go for Luis Enrique or Tuchel because both are elite coaches , win trophies , improve players & have managed big clubs.
