    One thing I think would be interesting for updates is more characters from the past as adversaries, imagine a mini boss like bounty hunter, I can hear the Wayner "His bounties allows him survival, and your head allows him his next meal."

      I imagine you can get bounty marked by either brigands or assistance encounters and with the mark on, theres a 10 or 15% chance to encounter the bounty hunter at roadblocks

    I will never not be convinced that the Occultist's heal isn't dark magic but him just pulling out a stapler to try to close the wounds. It's the only explanation as to why more often than not it makes the situation worse, by making them bleed from more holes.

      It's actually the Shambler he has trapped in his mind, dressed in a nurses uniform, trying to administer aid with all those clawed tentacles.

    poor Baer coming back after a week of relaxing shipbreaker only to bang his head on the tough boss in darkest dungeon 2.
    If you check out some other darkest dungeon 2 youtubers, they are not happy about it but the reliable strategy is to ignore the lungs completely and pile as much damage or DOT on the central boss.

      @@Yan.H I'm certainly glad this game punishes 'fuck around and find out' moments. Hopefully Baer will also stop overvaluing Taunt tokens so much, he wastes prime damage turns on setting up Taunt, which actually comes back to bite him in the ass pretty often.

    Two consecutive 1 heals? That's 1/400 chance. Well, that's the fun of employing Cultist, right? Epic boss fight(or more like meltdown) though :)

      I never use the occultist as my primary healer. In fact bringing the plague doctor along has becime a necessity for me. Alhazred has become PURELY damage and crowd control

    • @jasonprince6271

      Occultist is total garbage as a healer imo. You are shooting craps with him, and that's not what you need with a healer...it can't be a gamble. Not only is he not guaranteed to heal anything, he can bleed you and undo what he healed even if he succeeds. This games philosophy on healing reminds me of what DA:Inquisition did...they seriously hindered/removed dedicated healing and replaced it with ways to block dmg, etc. It works yes, but does it make the games more enjoyable to play? No.

    Been loving this series. This is such a cool game. I started bingeing this after your Baer &Breakfast and cult of the lamb series. After I catch up on this, does anyone know a good place to start in DD1 so I can understand some of the back story?

    I think it would be a waste to have driving in the game without at least 1 chase encounter

    I absolutely adore the first Darkest Dungeon, played it hundreds of hours. The new one is of course much better looking but I really do not care for the gameplay. I think that Red Hook made a big mistake by moving from an XCOM like to a more rogue like approach.

    • @sabastianbarnett6518

      While I agree that I think they should’ve tried to blend the two gameplay styles more seamlessly something new has helped the game. We’re all used to the old XCOM gameplay like you said, but I always thought some rougelike elements would benefit the game. The “when you die you die” hard an nails feel was good for the first game, but adding some kind of permanent unlock progression like they have has made completely losing a run less disheartening. Losing a Bloodmoon run 1 week before you win is a lot more disheartening than losing right before the final boss because progress is made in AND out of runs

    Aren't academics study encounters basically curio interactions?

    • @sirvilhelm2360
      @sirvilhelm2360 2 года назад +3

      They're more like a room with a curio. I myself wish there were more random things along the road that are interactable, besides the wrecks that give ya two gold occasionally.

    • @verychristianboi3584
      @verychristianboi3584 2 года назад

      @@sirvilhelm2360 oooh actually yeah thatd be way more epic since roads are barren except for maybe 1 road battle each. Item finds could be way less random and feel more deserved and getting heroes on the road instead of filling back up at the inn sounds much more challenging

    Honestly, what are you even expecting blowing two Empowered tokens on a crit heal when you could just end the fight faster by doing damage? ((Not sure if they already changed it so that heal using Empowered literally can't be 0, but that's still running the gamble between 1-33%/50%. Plus the bleed.))

    It's a pleasure watching you play Baer, though I always feel like your play style is just a wee bit too aggressive/dd1 style?
    As in.. Several meltdowns/character deaths would've been avoided with an earlier stress heal/solemnity (you can also use it just for the stress heal!)
    Good luck in future runs!
