    I've dated both and I prefer Italian men...the American guys I've dated acted like they didn't want a relationship while Italian guys will take you on dates, introduce you to their families, buy you gifts, pay for everything...I'm old school so I love being spoiled lol

      I know there is this stereotype that they aren't, but Enrico is amazing! I knew plenty of unfaithful, "unloving" guys in the states so I'd say they're more or less the same. Italian men are more willing to have a serious relationship and American guys need more time and convincing.

      +Tia Taylor ... is probably true, however, some ways polite and kind, can be only means of seduction ... you mentioned the fact to pay for own woman ... this comes from our education, but in my opinion, it depends also from an old conception of woman, a concept that identifies a female subject, as something to be protected and to take care of, in a sense, as a subject weaker ... off course, it depends for our education, but I see in this some traces of an old culture ... I fear that American men are just more honest: D: D: D

      I'm Italian and trust me, also Italian men are arrogant. In my life the majority of guys I've met were assholes. They had the guts to come and talk to me only if we were in a club or if they were in group, this way they would have proved their friends how manly and self confident they were. When I went to the US, though, I was shocked and flattered by the several guys who hit on me, they came to talk to me with no shame at all and they were direct. I know everyone has a different experience, but I hope someday I find a guy as direct and passional as Tia said in this video :)

He loves my taking all day to make my sauce for my home made spaghetti. He is appreciative for every meal I have ever made him! Never before have I had so much passion in my life!!! We have been together for only a year but he allows me to be feminine and though we haven't had our dreaded first argument yet we laugh a lot and have cherished every moment we have together. I hope I never face a day without him!!! I never have thought I would ever fall for someone so fast but I still feel like I am falling every day and tell him as often as he does with me ;) We never say goodbye but wish each other a good journey until we are back in each other's arms again. He is amazing!!!

      Nichol R Spearman I mean a lot of us are like this, I'm thinking about becoming an au pair in Italy. Which is crazy considering I've already graduated college but after working almost two years in Public Relations in Washington DC, I hated it and now really want to start making some dreams I have into a reality. Living abroad and learning a language are two of those dreams, I have many black female acquaintances who wouldn't dare do what I am planning but I know many that would. I just hate how even our own kind act shock when they come across women like Tia walking to a beat of her own drum. It's like hello, black girls can be original, after all we all are individuals here.

    As Italian man i can say it's true, i think cultural differences between the North and the South of Europe make the difference.
    I lived in London for 3 years working as a pt and i can say Anglo-Saxon women are more masculine while man are more shy and reserved. I honestly prefer to get a girl with the same cultural background that's why i am back to my country now, living far from Italy for long time made to to think about how much I love my country, my people, my traditions and my family. Does not worth to go working in another country once again, I am proud and blessed to be Italian. (I think everyone in the world must be proud of his own background)
    P.S. I am Italian and i don't smoke, I hate football too... lol

      When i was living abroad i had seen that family issues are very common, most of the time because one of the spouses cheats on the other one. As one of my British friend said me "family is one of the first problem in England". So, as you can see, cheating is part of the human behaviors.

    I haven't seen anyone mention about the difference between Italian men in the different regions. When I lived in Florence the guys were more what you're talking about, but now I live in the Veneto and the guys are... different. I don't know quite how to explain it. They aren't as straightforward like you're describing. They take a LONG time to tell a girl that they're interested. A former roommate was "seeing" a guy for months before he actually spoke up to say he liked her. In Tuscany I OFTEN got catcalled, or older "gentlemen" were always coming up to me and asking my name, if they could introduce themselves... now in the Veneto the only attention I get are from Eastern European men and the African street vendors trying to get me to buy something, and they do it with ZERO class.

    I just came back from Italy and from my perspective men in Rome, Pompeii, Venice, and Florence are a flirt. however, Florence men are a lot more charming, thoughtful and use humor. I enjoyed that because it made me feel like he actually cared for me. his actions and words made me thought so and because I said I am learning Italian he was patient and understanding. #crushlol Beautiful country!!

    Your "review" is spot on imo. I just came back from Italy. Very different from American men. Most Italian men are very attractive. I found the ones in Rome and south of Rome to be the most attractive. When I was on the metro in Naples, several men had perfect faces and were "manly" to me. I appreciate the old fashion values of Italian men (acting as the aggressor, complimenting you, paying for you etc.) because American men for the most part, aren't assertive with women anymore. With the exception of online dating, I've had to ask out most men lol. The best boyfriend I had was Spanish American via Madrid and the way they treat women were very similar to Italy's. The only turn off really to me is the smoking. Seems like most Italians love their cigarettes more than espresso. Anyway to me Italian men are the sexiest European men based on looks and personality.

  • @michaelehlert9
    @michaelehlert9 8 лет назад +10

    American man in Italy with an Italian wife. I think you're spot on with everything.
    Generally speaking I've noticed a drastic difference in drinking here in Italy, in that many Italian males will have a drink or two and focus on the conversation where ever they are, in contrast to the US, where many seem to see the objective is to get drunk and see what happens. It is almost shameful to just "go out drinking" in Italy. I also never realised how prevalent drinking is and was in Hollywood movies until I moved here as well.

    Hi, I'm Italian and my hubby is American, you said a lot of right things about the difference in the way they show the feelings! The only thing I don't agree with, is that we are more conservative,not saying we are better or worse just telling few examples: in us if a girl date a older guy is very weird, instead in Italy is normal for a 16year old girl do date a 23 year old guy, or taking your date at home here to meet your family doesn't mean you want to get married, also here we can go to the clubs a lot before the age of 21 (recently we change drinking age to 18 but is new and most of the ppl don't respect it). Also breastfeeding in public is not bad like in the States. And we have no laws about what kind of sex you can or not have in your private home. Maybe a lot of ppl here like to pretend to be traditional, but when I've been to the states I've been told I could go to Oprah and talk about my teenage life lol! And I'm just a normal girl not what in Italy we would call a whore ;)

    As an American, (Italo-Americano), American guys need ot understand why we need to pay for the date. While we have this equality culture in the US, guys need to realize something:
    A woman has already spend over 100 bucks just to be at the date, looking put together for you and herself. She has also spent hours preparing or moving her schedule aorund to get those things done to prepare.
    So pick up the fucking check, you mutants.
    Gli uomini Italiani sono piu bravo in questo modo. E' naturale cosi, pagare per le donne in certe cose. Forse non dovete comprare una macchina nuova per loro ma dai...

    • @Buddyboyo7

    You are so well spoken, i love how you put things in your videos.
    I'm italian and it cracks me up how the stereotype of italian men from the late 1800s to yesterday totally implied stinking (anyone would stink after a month-long journey on a transatlantic ship with poor sanitary facilities even for the early 1900s standards!), while nowadays suddendly the italian man is regarded as the quintessential of metrosexuality. Men who take less showers than they should have always been there and will always be all around the world. But if only you could smell the inside of the beauty case my grand-great uncle had with him when he emigrated to America in the 1920s... gosh you would smell dignity, honesty, dreams and good will. It still contains small glass bottles with remainders of perfum and hair gel, a hair brush, an iron thingy which i think was intended to comb moustaches, and a few other things. I still keep it on my bedroom drawer and only open it once in a while to avoid that scent to fade away.

    Nice video, funny and interesting :)
    I think the only thing you got wrong is about the drinking.. Italians drink a lot in general (even though it's way more accepted for guys rather than women) and most of all we LOVE drinking, I guess the difference might be in the "way".. And I mean it's basically part of our culture and we grow up seeing wine on the table almost everyday at lunch/dinner. I'd say we're more used to it and usually handle it better. Probably also the fact that in the States it's illegal until 21, makes a bit of a difference in this IMHO.
    Anyhow..
    I wanted to tell you that I've discovered your channel today and I really enjoy your videos! Sei adorabile!!

    What you said about Italian-men being very straightforward with women is something I've heard before, so I can deduce that Italian-women aren't as sensitive as females in the States. I can assure you that if I walked up to a random-women in the United States and spouted my feelings, she would run in fear.

      They aren't as sensitive for sure but you have to WORK to get their attention 😂😂 don't worry, I'll have the video on Italian women soon:)

      +Tia Taylor Italian-citizens don't live in a fear-based society, like Americans, so it's understandable why Italian-women aren't consumed in paranoia, but that certainly doesn't mean you don't have to work for them. That notion isn't far-fetched at all!

    Mia cugina è nata a NYC manhattan da padre italiano. Una sera l'ho portata a sentire musica tekno e li abbiamo conosciuto della gente con cui poi abbiamo fatto l'after a casa di uno di loro. Mia cugina era in paranoia perchè erano sconosciuti nonostante fosse tutto tranquillo. Mi ha detto che a new york non vai a casa di gente appena conosciuta ad un party e che ognuno ha la sua cerchia di amici. Non pensavo fossero così chiusi...

      Meglio! E poi vi lamentate degli omicidi oppure delle scomparse! Ecco la vera italia, i ragazzini italiani (quelli meno maturi) conoscono una sola cosa nella vita: Divertimento. Vanno in discoteca, e poi te li ritrovi schiacciati da un TIR, a causa di alcool e fumo.

      Beh dove vivete voi? Se dalle vostre parti sono tutti delinquenti non è colpa di tutta l italia, qui a verona succede spesso che si vada a dormire a casa di persone appena conosciute dopo una festa e non è mai sparito nessuno.. Forse perche in alcune zone esiste ancora quell idea del limite di eta per uscire di casa fino a una certa ora. Se lasci dei bambini di 15 anni girare da soli di notte ti lamenti anche di ritrovarli morti sotto un trono il giorno dopo? È il minimo che dovresti aspettarti quello

    • @SuperJuvent
      @SuperJuvent 7 лет назад +1

      Xtr3m3_babu98 io a 24 anni non ci andrei comunque a dormire a casa di qualcuno che non conosco , ma proprio perché così sono fatto , mi darebbe prima di tutto fastidio e poi soprattutto non farei il contrario.

    • @qwerty12773
      @qwerty12773 7 лет назад +1

      Xtr3m3_babu98 Basta pensare a quanti omicidi avvengono in Italia. Ti fideresti di qualcuno che hai appena conosciuto ad andare a dormire a casa sua? Può semplicemente spruzzarti addosso dello spray per farti addormentare e derubarti, o nei peggiori dei casi ucciderti derubandoti. Poi non venire a lamentarti, si chiama responsabilità. Intuisco che tu prendi questa faccenda un pò troppo alla leggera, l'unico che dovrebbe preoccuparsi qui, sei tu, non noi. Quindi non pensare che a Verona non ci siano delinquenti. ;)

    I dated an Australian guy when living there, once I went back home he wrote me he missed me and wanted to meet my family and friends....knowing how rerely that happens in an anglosaxon culture, that statement meant the world to me!
    (eventually he came to europe but things didn't work out - but that's another story!!)

    Italian men are way more deeper in expressing their emotions and passions. I would rather have that than any tall American that over drinks and looks at my wallet to open on date three. Stylish vs athletic? I will take the stylish guy any day. Athletes have less time to be passionate and expend all their energy at at the gym. Totally boring.

      +Grumpyy Cat I've never had a guy not expect to pay for a first date, and I think most of the time he wouldn't expect you to pay half for the next few dates unless you'd talked about it -- but once you're in a relationship he might well expect it.

    • @mythos1858
      @mythos1858 8 лет назад +13

      +Grumpyy Cat - I don't know one American man that would expect his date to pay 50/50. With that said, American men have to walk a fine line between being a gentlemen and not being sexist. Sexism is a huge topic in America. I think the 50/50 split says more about American culture than it does about American men.

    • @SilviaBieber123

      +Modus Pwnens no it's what gentlemen do! Responsability is another thing maybe you pay sometimes because you don't wanna make him spend his money but even if you do the man try to force you to don't pay i give you an exemple my man yesterday bought me a thing then i've decided to pay him a coffee but he almost forced me to don't pay so it's a galant thing
