Im french and im kinda fascinated of american culture. I've been in michigan during 6months and really enjoyed it. When i see the capitalism, the mentality, and the culture itself i would say its the best place where to leave. In france we think small, the gouvernment is all, and citizens follow.. So just for say good video and good spirit, by
America is better described as a melting pot. Lots of different people and feelings. Myself, I think small and prefer it that way. I'm blessed to be able to choose, but I(my family) do our thing, and the city's and government do theirs. Small town America I guess. I love your attitude.
Thank you everyone, for commenting on this video. Looks like I'll be doing more of these in the future. I'm thinking about going through the cards a little faster next time so that I can show more in less time.
A lot of those cards still have a pretty decent value... I know people that would quite literally commit felonies to get that Bench/Morgan dual auto... Thanks for the video! As a card fan, and ASMR fan, it was a real treat!
a bunch of these shown fetch big money now if you still have em! it's actually partially my job to specifically go through and sell cards like this. I took the liberty to looking some up during the video and multiple are still well into the 3 to possibly even 4 figure range. Make sure you know what you have!! I've been watching ya for years and I'd hate to see such beauties be mishandled.
Wow! That's good to know. I still have them. I have tens of thousands of cards not shown in this video, and have begun the process of removing all the hall of famers. My plan is to someday get rid of all the common cards and only keep the special ones and HOF cards.
@@RelaxingASMR Great idea. Bulk is still bulk. Bulk prior to 1980 would actually be worth selling, as well. Always great to go back and look at your collection to organize.
You know, I have to say. You are my favorite ASMRtist on this website! Your voice is just perfect! It puts me to sleep in seconds, which honestly is kind of a bad thing, because your videos are always really interesting! Keep it up man!
Awesome video! I used to collect baseball and basketball cards when I was younger. My grandparents would buy me cards every time they'd visit. Unfortunately, all of the card shops around here went out of business years ago :-/ I still have the majority of the cards my grandparents bought me along with other cards I acquired over the years. I think it's cool how you, your son, and wife all enjoy collecting.
I know these cards may not be worth a whole lot, but they are cool as all get out, as a die hard baseball fan I would legit buy these cards off of you lol
Thank you for combining two of the things i love most in life ASMR and Baseball. Even tho i am not a card collector. I still find it very fascinating. Please do more videos like this
Do not lose hope on these cards. I too am a avid card collector. The market for baseball cards is getting back to where it used to be many years ago. Many of the cards you discussed in the beginning are still worth pretty close to what they used to be. You're sitting on a gold mine. Many people, including myself . Would be jealous of your stellar collection . Do not lose hope . You have one hell of a collection
Love these videos. I've watched this particular one over a dozen times lol. I used to be an avid baseball card collector, but not so much anymore. I still collect anything Jose Canseco, but that's it. Looking forward to more of these. You do good work, thank you for these sir
Huge baseball and ASMR fan! I have a collection of my own cards that were handed down to me from my dad and I've been adding to them every since. Some of the more valuable cards I have are a Joe DiMaggio jersey card that I purchased and a 1960 Sandy Koufax that I also purchased. My dad handed down to me about 9 complete Topps sets between the years 1985-1996. Very interested to see your collection. Great video!
Have no idea what it is, but i can seriously listen to most anything you talk about. There is just something about that voice. Reminds me of someone i knew once. Great vid
I know quite a bit about the market for these cards and the baseline I would suggest for the Ty Cobb would be no less than $100. The Bench/Morgan I would take no less than $150 on. The Alex Rodriguez sweet spot auto would still net about $80-90 on the market. The Harmon Killabrew would be $20. The Maddux would be $80-100. The Gwynn is an exciting card because late 90's and early 00's inserts have made a resurgence. I would value that card at no less than $150, but due to scarcity it could become more sought after. Not $600, but perhaps $250 at high end. The Gwynn Vanguard silver /10 would be another interesting auction. Perhaps $50-75. The Sammy Sosa Skybox premium /50 is still a fairly sought after card and would likely garner $30-50 on the market. The Tim Salmon card /24 comes from one of the most highly sought after sets of the late 90's and gauging value is hard, but I would estimate between $60-100 on that one.
I trust enough about my evaluation. I have been in the market for twenty years. I'm just saying what I would consider market value for these cards, even on eBay. Some would do better and some would do worse, but the concept of giving these cards away due to some perception of the bottom having fallen out would be a disservice to the collection. Which prices in particular did you take issue with?
BASIAN 87 the sports card market is as stronger and healthier than it's ever been. eBay sales on sought after cards, both current and vintage, are through the roof! Sure, junk era cards, late 80's thru late 90's, that were severely overproduced are still not worth much but that's likely never going to change.
To me this is interesting, as I known nothing about baseball nor card collecting, but it is fun how a piece of cardboard can be a treasure to certain people. Collectibles are fascinating.
Some of the values of the cards may or may not have gone up. The A-Rod one probably took a nose dive after this year. But the Ty Cobb one certainly has some potential. I checked Ebay and Google shops, and mint conditions are valued at $199. Gregg Maddux may have lasting power as well, but not the $150 it was in its prime.
I am quoting sale values as well on these cards. It's likely that the "book value" as in Beckett value, still has the cards in the vicinity of what your pricing looks like. But eBay has changed the game. The prices I quoted in my previous post are what you could expect to sell them for. I would by all means not entertain any offers *here* on youtube for these cards. Especially the lower numbered ones, because the value is in the scarcity. The Barry Bonds Brilliants /24 could be a $100+ card too. Incredibly hard to gauge value on those, but trust me when I say they're highly collectable. I would be incredibly interested to see what the rest of your collection looks like and if you have any specific examples of cards you'd like me to price I would be more than happy to do that. I could also potentially put you in contact with a reputable consignment dealer if you'd be interested. But I would be prepared to get your fair share of sharks sending you PM's about these cards trying to do some back door deals. It's a dirty business.
I enjoyed the tour of your collection! It's a shame this is the first time you're looking at them in a while. Personally, I just love admiring the different card designs, and reminiscing about all the players I used see when I would go to games with my dad in the 90's.
The Tony Gwynn card is worth a lot. Very rare card of a great player and popular athlete. The Bench Morgan card is a nice one. On eBay ppl are asking from around 150 to 400. You have some nice cards there that haven't lost much value. Finding a buyer can be difficult.
Love these videos. Very relaxing. As a former baseball card collector myself (I still collect my favorite player Jose Canseco) this video hits home with me. I also have a couple thousand cards that the value dropped out of. Looking at all the old values of your card collection, and knowing what they go for nowadays, it's almost heart breaking. I hope you didn't pay the prices on those old tags back then. If so, then I really do feel bad. However, the auto at the beginning is probably still worth quite a bit.
These cards still have good value. You certainly wouldn't get the money you have them valued at because nobody buys them at book value anymore. Trading Cards took another fall after ebay made it an even more competitive market. But there is still a huge following and love for collecting these precious pieces of baseball history. Thanks for showing.
keep in mind as well, alot of stickers on back of cards were/are the high Beckett value. this is a magazine estimate, not necessarily the price that cards were actually selling for at the time.
Kazuhiro Sasaki Fleer is now available on eBay for $4.95. 1/10th of the former value. The A-Rod Showcase has fared a bit better than most. It went from $250 down to $122 on eBay. I suppose if you're looking to get into collecting BB cards, now's the best time.
Awww 75,,, ugly ol"Topps,,, great lil mini set,,, started my Fresh HS,,,, Issued #23 FB,BB,,, so I'm the oringal ,,, not Jordan,,,, lol,,,, while I have been collecting since 71,n worth a few bones,,,,, I'm like this dude,,,,,, I lov showing my collection,,,, not bragging to my fellow Fantasy Sports buddy's who I've never met,,, never got complaints So I guess it's all good

My dad used to have boxes full of baseball cards when he was a kid. He had 3 Pete Rose rookie cards in those boxes! What he did with those boxes he still regrets to this day. He burned them when he was growing up cause he felt he had outgrown them. I guess collecting baseball cards was considered to be childish back then.
You have quite an impressive collection of baseball cards in the 2000s. Unfortunately, I agree with you on the value of your collection due to ongoing trends. You still have cards that are worth some great money. You have 5 cards that are valued over 100.00 dollars, and the majority of the cards that you showed are worth more than 10.00.
I have a limited edition Tom Brady card with the air he deflated from footballs. Not very valuable though because there are so many of them out there...
I'd say the Josh Hamilton card with the "Devil Rays" may have some value today, because he is still active with the LA Angels of Anaheim. He was drafted by the Devil Rays, but never made an MLB appearance with them. The value may not be super high, but you could get money out of it.
Only bad part about this video is how pessimistic he is about the drop in value. I don’t even think the values listed on the cards seem outrageous today
I know for sure that A rod Cal Ripken junior and Ty Cobb cards have value now. Not finished with a video so I may add more *by now you likely know which ones have value*
another top vid mr relaxing. Dont think baseball is popular here in england. I like it, tho i dont profess to have good knowledge of the game. Im a red sox fan, or dead sox, when we were really crap. I could definitely watch more baseball card vids.
that Maddux card at 14:00 still sells for $100+ on ebay! a lot of your cards are still worth money actually. the cards whose prices went down to nothing are the base set cards of basically anything from '88 to the mid 2000s. if you have inserts, autos, etc., of great players, they've retained a lot of their value.
For eBay it's very hard to say a card is worth $X dollars when you are only looking at what people are selling it for. Something is only worth what people pay for it so you have to check and do an average of what people actually paid.
I remember my friend bought a pack of cards and ended up pulling an Al Kaline signed Bat Card. Store owner then said the card was his because he got it inside the store and we basically just booked it and never went back.
Very relaxing video and interesting too even though I've never been into baseball, being from the UK it's not very popular over here. I notice some of the cards have been graded, did you buy them like that or did you get them graded?
I recently sold my collection, save for a selection of personal favorites and the most valuable ones. Sold a who trunk full of 80s/early 90s for $100. Was happy to get that.
the Arod Sweet Sigs is booking for $200, the bench morgan 92 UD auto is booking at $80, those were the highest listed. I can assume the Gwynn sp auto is some where between $150 and $200 and im sure those Brilliance 24k book for a decent price if beckett still listed the set. i'll check an older book and get back with you Asmr
Ah, I have so much memorabilia (Hank Aaron auto bat, Tom Glavine WS MVP auto ball, etc) and was going to do an ASMR video on those while explaining the in depth rules and unseen tactics to the game, strategy, little things like terminology, American analogies, why it isn't a boring sport, etc.. Maybe I will.
Interesting video. I liked the pace, I feel it could ruin the experience if you were to rush through them faster. I like the idea someone said of picking up a guide and checking out the values, that could be a good video...I'd watch it.
Stuff like Corey Paterson are wireless unless rookie year...even then, dirt cheap. Anything that is a limits edition, signed or rookie year is expensive. Don't get rid of any. So we're both packers fans, what's your baseball team? I'll give you a hint for mine. He's the first guy you mentioned and he left is for the dodgers
No, except for the autograph, game used, short print #'d and relic cards, cards between 1986 and 2002 were produced like banana republics print money. A Barry Bonds Topps 1987 rookie card only sells for $5.
The Ray Durham gamed used - $3-$5
The Ty Cobb game used - $45-$60
Griffey Upper Deck Game Used - $6-$10
Killebrew auto - $25 to $35
Greg Maddux Sweet Spot Auto - $85
1994 Fleer Flair ArOD - $10
Tony Gwynn Chirography Auto - $30-$40

+RelaxingASMR oh ok, well then that's not so bad then. It's a good looking collection.
Thanks. Those little price stickers were put on many of the cards by my wife as she looked up the values in Beckett, back in the day of course lol.
Can you explain how the prices dropped?
Great video. I've never understood the appeal of baseball cards personally, but to each their own!

Oh, and the transparent designs on the McGuire card are meant to resemble foul poles I think.

Great video. I definitely think some of these cards have a lot more value than you were thinking. Hope you still have them. 😄
I do!
Your videos are always relaxing.
Cool cards awesome love the graded cards. Sick looking.
It would be cool if you picked up a Beckett and checked the value of some the cards now.
If you have pre 1980 cards, those are still worth money.
Do you have an older collection?
Also, didn't you say you have a comic collection too..
The last Bonds 24k Brilliants sold for around $450. I collect Bonds exclusively and would love to own one! Many of these cards are far from 'worthless'! :)

He burned them when he was growing up cause he felt he had outgrown them. I guess collecting baseball cards was considered to be childish back then.
Amazing! Please make more of these, they're really interesting!
The value is returning to these treasures
Alot of these cards have actually increased in value believe it or not
Dwally8 8 the good player relics or autos not base
the autograph tony Gwynn is probably worth a lot....One of my favorite players

Alex Rodriguez auto is worth about $80 to $110. Bench/Morgan auto between $70 to $90. This is a little below retail.
The Cal Ripken rookie card looks like it is in great condition! Maybe you should get it graded.
I have a limited edition Tom Brady card with the air he deflated from footballs. Not very valuable though because there are so many of them out there...
hahahahahaha
that bonds 24kt card is worth around 1-2k minimum right now
That's great news!
Awesome video and I love baseball ⚾️
Go RedSox 💯
The barry bonds card is definintly worth a lot and the Ty Cobb
Ty Cobb - with a piece of a game used bat !!! Just Amazing !!! Did you know that Man stole Home 54 times, Blows my Mind,
Relaxing and interesting! As always!

Almost all your cards are very valuable, and you may want to keep them- or sell them. The cards with "souvenirs" you should definitely look into.
Great video, awesome cards too... Awesome video bro

What we've all been waiting for. Woohoo
Very relaxing video and interesting too even though I've never been into baseball, being from the UK it's not very popular over here. I notice some of the cards have been graded, did you buy them like that or did you get them graded?
Old video, but if you have that AROD signature card I'd pay more than market for it. I specifically go after his cards.
Hey asmr man love the show I take those cards off your hand
I like the Big Red Machine! I'm from Ohio and am a Cincinnati fan.
That Ty Cobb card is cool. That bat has to be about 100 years old.
Brennan Adamski depends on the year or how long he had one bat for becuase he played from 1905-1928
this video made me very drowsy at first, then very depressed hear how much my card's value depleted, lol...thanks for the vid ASMR!
Great video! :D it was relaxing
oh my gosh, A-Rod from his Mariners days!
Very Nice Collection
Thank you for being so quiet!
Where you get the baseball cards from
Love the Robin Ventura card ..
May wanna recheck the value of some of these.. Cards values are sky high right now!!
A lot of them do have value.
this is like a modern ozymandias
You make very high quality video, thank you for this! Like big!
Did you pull all or most of these or did you buy them online?
Stuff like Corey Paterson are wireless unless rookie year...even then, dirt cheap. Anything that is a limits edition, signed or rookie year is expensive. Don't get rid of any. So we're both packers fans, what's your baseball team? I'll give you a hint for mine. He's the first guy you mentioned and he left is for the dodgers
You have very nice baseball cards
This is a great video
Thanks!
very nice collection
The longer you have them, the more valuable they come. You could sell them for a lot of money if you sell them at the right time.
+Ryan the best You may be right, but, I'll probably never sell them.
No, except for the autograph, game used, short print #'d and relic cards, cards between 1986 and 2002 were produced like banana republics print money. A Barry Bonds Topps 1987 rookie card only sells for $5.
