Hi Geoff, I've recently bought a Weber Traveler Portable Gas Grill, and to my disappointment, I was unable to get the charcoal flavour on the meat, I had barbecued! I was wondering if it's possible to buy briquettes, that I can wrap in foil, to give it the charcoal flavour? I'm reluctant to sell mine, I've used it only twice, and I was so disappointed with the flavour, and not only that, I had turned on the gas high, and marinaded the meat, and it didn't have the 'seared' look I wanted!! Please can you help me on that one! The wide grills and design are great, in hindsight, I would have rather purchased a 'HYBRID' gas BBQ!
@@CountryWoodSmoke Thank you, I will using the smoking wood, wrapped up in foil. Do I have to soak the wood in water first; before wrapping it up in foil?
@@CountryWoodSmoke nice one mate. Many thanks Marcus. Really looking for a portable grill to take to the beach etc. Not a big fan of gas and was looking at the Weber Go Anywhere, Everdure Cube or a PKGO. Never considered a Weber gas until I saw this, but this does look convenient. I don’t think anyone’s really covered BBQ’s for different situation. Still can’t decide now ha ha. Take care.
Never thought you could use wood chunks on gas grill. Great tip, thank you!
Pleasure, let me know how you get on please
Shredded wood works better than solid chunk
Nice cook and nice grill my man. Straight to the point.
Cheers Geoff
Oh yes! I just bought that same grill so this is just what I want to see.
Great production quality
Cheers
me i want to get it how can i buy it
how did you get the grill to close with the gas tank still connected
@@richardknappenberger4005 no problem at all
Temp and time?
Do you soak the cherry wood first?
No...the foil stops them catching fire
What temp. setting and how long was the cook please?
180-200c for around 30-40mins until reach internal temp of 74c
What about charcoal grilling - or is that entirely different?

Hey there, marinating meat reduces chance of getting a good sear, don't use Briquettes, use smoking wood such as cherry for a nice flavour

@@bubblychickbubblychick1803 no need to smoke
How long do you get out of one of the gas canisters Marcus?
Couple of hours at medium i reckon...sometimes the cannister gets cold after half an hour or so and the gas flow reduces

@@darrenhurrell good idea, pkgo looks great, but wga is hard to beat too
@@CountryWoodSmoke I think you’ve made up my mind. Thanks Marcus.
@@darrenhurrell cheers, enjoy
Funny… I didn’t se even a bit of smoke.
Look closer sir... at 1:13
That’s not enough smoke to do anything. Never saw a puff when you opened the grill cover. You might have a good idea, but you haven’t shown it well.
@@richshipley a small amount of clean smoke is better than smoke billowing out.....
