My 2023 KTM 300 XC was built wrong | Fixed it with a base gasket and recovered 4 hp on over rev

This 2023 KTM 300 XC was built wrong at the factory. Fixing it with one base gasket and a trimmed piston bottom was worth 2 hp on top and 4 down the back side. Just building it to spec, by adding a base gasket for $9 was worth this.
The compression was too high and the ignition timing advanced because the head was too close to the piston. It was a time bomb and I think that's why so many people are breaking these and you can't get parts.

Is there any balance concern with taking more off one side of the piston than the other? Or lightening the piston overall?
