I live in SW France and duck is the traditional meat from here, either confit leg or duck breast. I love it

Duck is one of the finest foods imho. In times of austerity we all need to be reminded of the things that make life worth living. This video delivers on that! Love it.

As for nat being fussy, that duck lived a hell of alot better than any chicken she has ever eaten. Id understand if it was an aversion to taste or how greasy it is though.

Hello my friends! Now this is something I don’t think I can get here in NYC as far as I know. I love your food, but I might have a hard time eating this because I’ve heard it’s definitely a required taste. I love seeing you both ♥️

Never cooked duck but think I might try it now. Didn't know it was available in a bag. Looked really moist. Have 2 Pinch of Nom books so really looking forward to seeing which recipes you choose. Have just recently bought an instant pot so it would be great if you did one of the recipes that have a pressure cooker option too.

O Yumm! What a lovely dinner. Yes duck is quite lean compared to a chicken. It's about the flavour, not the quantity of meat when it comes to duck.
I love a roasted duck and this one done in the bag looks good. Peking duck and BBQ duck are also delicious.
    Fabulous review and recipe.
    Cheers Keith 👍🤤😀

With the cheese&potato pie, id keep the top rough, and sprinkle cheese over so its got browned bits on top.

I would use that left over duck to make a hearty broth from whatever vegetables are to hand. I like duck, but I wouldn't pay that much. Why not try roasting turkey drumsticks? These are £2.60 in ASDA. Maybe Nat would prefer those.

We love duck but Aldi are a little bit expensive here. Guessing they're asking more because it's cook in the bag. Never tried slow cooking pre cooked duck but it might work! I'd probably just use the rest of the meat in a stir fry and reduce the juices down for the sauce 🙂

The fat that came off the duck would make lovely roast potatoes. A curry with the rest of the duck would be nice, a quick easy recipe is fry a chunkily chopped onion and 2 cloves of garlic in a pan with 2 tbsp of olive oil until soft, then add 110g curry paste (korma or a hotter paste if you prefer) and give it a stir, next add in 2 tsp fish sauce/paste, a large can of coconut milk and 100g chicken stock. Stir and let it simmer for 10 minutes, if you want the sauce to be thicker add a cornflour slurry and simmer for a further 5 minutes. Finally add the duck and simmer for a few minutes. Serve with rice or chips.

  • @independentpuppy7520

Oh no, I wouldn't eat that. In terms of poultry I'll stick with chicken or turkey.
Mind you, there's even worse birds to eat. Some people eat game birds. They hang them for several days before eating. Rotting by the time they eat them. They say it improves the flavour. I feel sick now.

You should cook both duck and goose on a wire rack and save the fat for doing your roast potatoes. Always price the bird well so the fat drains away
