I dated a woman who's mother did something like this. For years she denied knowing what was going on in another room with men. When the mother finally confessed the truth. It was like a weight was taken off the woman I dated shoulders. For years her own mother gaslighted her about it. It made her feel crazy like she couldn't trust her own mind. That’s how I knew Murdaugh was lying: he hand waved the last conversation with his son and wife. When you lose someone, especially in a shocking way from my experience, the last moments you had with them come into very sharp focus. I still remember the last conversations I had with the people I loved that died suddenly. I’m sure I remember the less shocking deaths but they aren’t as etched into my memory like the untimely ones.

Something that came to me today was this "mother" could've given Maddie the master bedroom she was paying for already and Jenn could've slept in the living room herself😡 If anyone should've been in the living room it should've been Jenn and Stephan. What good parent would want their child sleeping in a makeshift room while they get to have a huge bedroom to themselves? She was a teenager who needed privacy especially being a girl. Even if we remove Stephan from the equation it's negligent that she would have her child sleep in the open like that when living with roommates.

My husband passed away in my arms in 2004. I remember EVERYTHING, I remember the Levi shorts he was wearing, the tank top, the blue underwear he had on, the Reeboks he was wearing, the last meal he ate, we made my parents dinner, pork chops, mashed potatoes, lettuce outta my parents garden w/ the pet milk, sugar & onion sauce over the lettuce. The very last thing he ate was a brownie that we shared after dinner from the corner store. I remember the last words he said to me. My parents passed away in 8/2014 &15, I remember my dads last meal b4 he could no longer eat, he wanted my homemade sweet & sour chicken but he wasn’t feeling too well so I made him tomato soup instead, the last movie he wanted to watch was the sniper, but couldn’t stay awake to watch it. The last place I took him (his dying wish) Firekeepers casino to gamble. The day b4 I took my mom to ER she spent the day at Lake Superior, I can tell you exactly what my mom was wearing the day I took her to the ER (teal capris & a flower top), her last meal was steak, summer squash fried in cornmeal, baked potatoes & salad. Last thing she consumed b4 I took her to the ER was 2 glasses of milk, once she got to hospital she ended up in life support & was in there a month. I can tell you what I was wearing when all 3 of them passed, so for a mother not to know these last memories of her baby the last time she saw her is, is very questionable!!!

Thanks for noticing the fact that she was under the influence. I know they were prescription, but Jenn, Stephan (sadly including Maddie) were taking many meds. I dated a woman who's mother did something like this.
For years she denied knowing what was going on in another room with men. When the mother finally confessed the truth.
It was like a weight was taken off the woman I dated shoulders. For years her own mother gaslighted her about it. It made her feel crazy like she couldn't trust her own mind.
Unfortunately in this case I think the mother will get away with this. Because people don't want to believe a mother could knowingly and willingly do this to her own daughter. And they'll stick their heads in the sand, put their fingers in their ears and ignore the obvious to hold on tight to that false belief.

What blows my mind is I would remember every single detail on the day my daughter went missing.
That’s how I knew Murdaugh was lying: he hand waved the last conversation with his son and wife. When you lose someone, especially in a shocking way from my experience, the last moments you had with them come into very sharp focus. I still remember the last conversations I had with the people I loved that died suddenly. I’m sure I remember the less shocking deaths but they aren’t as etched into my memory like the untimely ones.

I can't imagine what the text about "I can't risk it" means other than something horrible and evil. And if I had sent a text like that I damn sure would be able to explain why I wrote it! It's so telling how Jennifer just acts like she doesn't remember writing that weird text or why she wrote it. Come on! I think this little girl was a cash cow for her and SS and they were selling CP. I remember EVERYTHING, I remember the Levi shorts he was wearing, the tank top, the blue underwear he had on, the Reeboks he was wearing, the last meal he ate, we made my parents dinner, pork chops, mashed potatoes, lettuce outta my parents garden w/ the pet milk, sugar & onion sauce over the lettuce. The very last thing he ate was a brownie that we shared after dinner from the corner store. I remember the last words he said to me. My parents passed away in 8/2014 &15, I remember my dads last meal b4 he could no longer eat, he wanted my homemade sweet & sour chicken but he wasn’t feeling too well so I made him tomato soup instead, the last movie he wanted to watch was the sniper, but couldn’t stay awake to watch it. The last place I took him (his dying wish) Firekeepers casino to gamble. The day b4 I took my mom to ER she spent the day at Lake Superior, I can tell you exactly what my mom was wearing the day I took her to the ER (teal capris & a flower top), her last meal was steak, summer squash fried in cornmeal, baked potatoes & salad. Last thing she consumed b4 I took her to the ER was 2 glasses of milk, once she got to hospital she ended up in life support & was in there a month. I can tell you what I was wearing when all 3 of them passed, so for a mother not to know these last memories of her baby the last time she saw her is, is very questionable!!!

Let's remember that this an immunity interview with her lawyer present so police are fishing for incriminating evidence to support what they already have. They have recorded telephone conversations. And knowing all that, she still stood behind him, rubbing his shoulders. She protected him then, and she is still protecting him now.

Thanks for noticing the fact that she was under the influence. I know they were prescription, but Jenn, Stephan (sadly including Maddie) were taking many meds. In many of the interviews, lots of the "I" word and then all about HER meds. Stephan was the same, talking about his anxiety, his meds... agghhh, this case makes me so angry. Both adults were so self-centered.
