Android 17 Z and Android 17 from super are way too different to have stuck them in the same slot. I’m glad they have their distinction. Also most BT3 fans expected them to keep fused with Kami piccolo just because they always have him separated in tenkaichi.
Seriously, anyone who says otherwise about 17, really doesn't value him as a character. He grew a lot, even if it was offscreen. He deserves 2 slots dedicated for his respective Era. Hope he has dialog with himself. Lol

He's an entirely different power level for one thing, which requires being separate characters, especially with an entirely different move set, but he should also have different dialogue with everyone. He definitely deserves different Z and Super slots. Same with Piccolo, if we didn't get a new version of Piccolo then he'd be trapped at a lower-than-Raditz power level for the entire game, as well as being without a lot of his later iconic moves. Remember these characters are balanced to be accurate to the anime, Z Android 17 is not gonna be able to fight evenly with Blue Goku like the Super version does, and a costume wouldn't change that.
a costume could change that. itd be very easy to code certain outfits to give higher stats than others. they could also go the xenoverse route where theres a "loadout" of certain moves that affect powert level and either come with a costume or are separate from.having an entire character slot for it would be the least efficient route

Goku (Super) does more damage than Goku (Early). Even going up in transformations increases stats, it was the same in BT3.

You have to remember they didn't start out by saying "Okay we're gonna have 164 characters let's decide who gets these slots", they started with "let's figure out how many characters we can make". 17 gets two slots because he was worth putting in the work to make two distinct versions; if a costume came with all those changes it'd be the same amount of work and time the dev team spent on it, that wouldn't open up a slot, it'd just mean 163 characters and this one costume is basically a full character.
@@shadowflame68 youre looking at that exceptionally limited. 1. if its just a power level thing and not a move set thing it would be now where near as much work as a full character. 2. even if it was a different moveset with different costume it would still be less work than an entirely different character 3. youre making a lot of assumptions. youre correct that game developers dont decide slots beforehand and then pick characters, they do indeed pick characters first and then those become the slots, but you have no idea how they decide what to count as a slot. they could just as easily combine 17z and 17 super into one slot as they could make them separate slots. saying "17 super being a separate slot would rob us of a character!" is stupid but you cant say definitively whether 17 super is a separate slot from z until we have the game in hand.
First I don't really like King Colds Super skin. I much prefer original Z so hopefully that's an alt colour palette. But onto my Buu Saga predictions. - Great Saiyaman - 'Adult' Gohan SSJ2 - Ultimate Gohan - Babidi - Majin Vegeta (if he isn't in the roster screen yet I can't really tell) - Evil Buu - Super Buu - Buutenks - Buuhan - Kid Buu - Supreme Kai - Kibitoshin Kai (whatever the fusion is called) My hopes would be for; - Yakon - Pui Pui - Kid Uub Those bottom 3 are unlikely but I'm hoping if we get OG DB content pushed to DLC we can get a few more side but neat characters foe Z and Super (my boi Tagoma please)
There isn't really a better name for him tbh. "Kid Gohan" already exists. "Young Gohan" is kinda repetitive. "Cell Arc Gohan" isnt fair since no one else is specified by their arcs. I _could_ see them doing "Gohan (Z - Mid)" with the others getting "Z - Early" and "Z - End" but they're already different enough in appearance that it kinda warrants a more prominent name.
Small nitpick but I hope the ring and surrounding landscape is destroyed and for the fight with Gohan and Cell during Episode battle mode. In every DBZ game the ring is still intact for the Gohan/Cell fight and considering how iconic that fight is they should do it justice this time. The same way they always adopt exploding Namek for the Goku/Frieza fight in all the games

I would just disagree. Z Trunks compared to Super Trunks is completely different, not with just new transformations and attacks but also with his design. It's completely different. With Android 17 in Dragon Ball Z, he's simply within 3 fights, and the biggest one of those fights is with Piccolo. He's not really shown using a lot of new attacks and designs there and if he is, the barrier attack that he uses is perpendicular to him in Dragon Ball Super. I believe they could've added one Android 17, and consist him among the same moveset with different outfits. Xenoverse 2 is a horrible example since the game itself is milking content to add repeat characters like Videl and Android 18. Apart of me can see why it makes sense but IF you're limiting yourself to 164 characters then you need to make use of every character you add. I still do believe it will be more than 164 and if that's the case, then I have no problems with the various Android 17's. Hopefully that makes sense haha.
@@PblGaming- I think it comes down to the number. 164 is a big number but I think you and some others are getting a little antsy because now it feels like characters are taking up other characters spots since we're nearing the end. Happens in every fighting game pre release. Me tho, I love 17 from Super. Him being bundled into one with Z 17 is outlandish to me. I play as 17 in FighterZ and can't see 17 from Z using those moves because it's just inaccurate at that point for the sake of roster space. It's a disservice to fans of 17. I have no issue with 17 have separate distinct characters and I can pull a perspective on how it makes sense IF we get more than 164 characters. 164, while it is a lot, BT3 was 161, considering how we have an entire new franchise since BT3, it’s only right that we extend it a little bit rather than just 3 more characters compared to BT3.
4:55 "Basic normal ki blast" is crazy when I'm pretty sure that's "Big Bang Crash" from BT3: The red attack that looks like Vegeta's Big Bang Attack. 7:55 I can tell that the focus for this video was only on the Sparking series of games (BT1, BT2, BT3), but they did admit (and we have seen) that they were also pulling from the Blast series of games (RB1, RB2, UT) too. These two attacks are the "Quiet Rage" and "Explosive Demon Impact" super attacks from those games.

All the characters make approximately the same damage, it’s not a power level problem, in the TOP A17 have just an entire new moveset.
