Hi Akhil, Just sitting under the sunlight won't get you enough Vitamin D. It's a complex process. It would help if you had a good diet and then walked in the sunlight (or exercise) where your skin should be covered in sweat. Only then will sunlight generate vitamin D . If you sit idle, it will generate a protein called melanin (brown pigment, beneficial to avoid skin cancers), making your skin darker. Yes, it's called tanning. Activity is essential for Vitamin D.
I appreciate your concern but do check this out with doctors.

Yes, mere sunlight is not enough. The intention was that sunlight is on of the best sources and not just vitamin d but a plethora of advantages of exposure to sunlight. Thank you for your inputs too.

Hello Akhil Sir...Thank you for your advice...I just have a very silly question but an important question for myself...I want to pursue HRM from Tiss but I just dont want to land up to a place where I will be a slave to the upper management and maybe I have to convey message of layoffs to the employees(since layoffs are pretty frequent now)...I just wanted to know ki is cost cutting through firing an integral part of Hr or it is based on the job description??

Layoffs are not a regular affair and it's a way of cost cutting but only the employees on the bench or those who are not working with efficiency are the ones who are asked to leave. Yes it can be tough to do this..But the market scenario changes every quarter and the one laid off will soon grab another job in the market. They are also provided with salary for their notice period or severance package. Top performers are not asked to leave. It's not an integral part of HR. Usually low performers, integrity issues, people not contributing are the ones asked to leave. And in case high performers are asked to leave be rest assured that these top talents will always find a job in the market.
