That Generous Gift on the Maze of Ith as a response to a boarwipe was such a good play
Thanks, i have good ideas every once in a while :)
wb on this channel, Samut. Love to see you.
Hope everyone enjoyed the deck. I enjoyed your substitutions pj. And what was removed from the deck for them were alright. If I had a fire and ice it would definitely go in there over keen sense. Same with jitte. But I would also add enlightened tutor cause from the gameplay they seemed really important. And if it's important I want a tutor for it. Lots of ways to go with this build. I didn't feel like it was too lot on removal. I think it has 8. But I can see why a few more would he good. I've talked about it with you I've had more hat bears in the list before. And this build I wanted more fun stuff. If anyone else wants to give their ideas I'll be free to listen. Just reply to my comment.
I absolutely love Kogla in my Samut list. It just does everything and I feel confident to give this recommendation confidently regardless of meta.
It sounds like to also played Samut a lot as your commander, so I would like to ask your opinion on something: Is it worth to lean in to her keywords (esp. Double Strike & Vigilance) and body with swords or Jitte if it comes at the cost of losing her more often to spot removal?
I've gotten rid of everything that made her the center of attention *for her body* because the "your creatures have haste" usually sounds dangerous enough to my playgroup. But it's still not as dangerous as also threatens with commander lethal and insane value bc of double strike = double trigger on auras or swords and the like.
@@hafusan man wish I got a notification for this comment. Good thing I was randomly checking this video.
It is worth it but you would have to run a few more protection spells. I used to run 6 ways to protect her from removal. I think I've cut that in half. Because I've spread my threats around so that she isn't the biggest one.
I suggest if you fear removal. Lean Into her having flash. So seedborn muse and that enchantment that untap your lands at end step. Also run both siguarda. One protects from sacrifice the other gives her hexproof.
You can make her Into a Voltron commander. Which is very strong. She hits hard and fast.
If all else fails run rythm of the wild as a back up haste giver. It's worth the slot. Always plan ahead in games. If you think removal might target her. Try a value play instead to take focus off you.
Samut is fast, hits hard and can be extremely explosive.
EM Thalia is to deny blockers mostly, since they come into play tapped.
Exactly. Let me hit you more opponent. Also the nonbasics enters tap is a nice tempo loss.
@@dmany13 It really screws over Fetchlands in particular, brutal like Samut in combat.
@@faerie7dragon yea that is nice. Samut smash. I've tried many things in the list. Like he said adjust hate bears by the playgroup. So the bears I used were turned to lgs group. They all have lots of fetches and optimal Mana bases so it helps a lot. As my lgs meta shifted over time I basically had a samut sideboard in my binder. To be able to deal with specific problem I've had against specific decks
Oh yeah, sometimes its really good. Sadly other times, often later in the game it loses some impact. Many choices for hatebears though.
Hey PJ, I have a mono white golos deck built around emeria, and I was wondering what are some good stand alone cards to gain a bunch of life? I am focusing on not dying with this deck and basically being a very annoying white deck that refuses to die, and I found that incremental damage proved to be a major issue for me. Any tips? I have True Convicion in there already, but I was looking for a creature that could do it perhaps?
The irony is that all the good life gain creatures green....but more seriously I don’t play a lot of straight life gain but here’s a few things that have done well. Soul sisters, authority of consuls, blind obedience. I’ve always wanted to use shattered angel but haven’t found the home for it. Windbrisk raptor and angelic skirmisher are both cool. Resolute archangel is interesting. Sean has been liking war report in his token decks, it’s a little narrow for me but maybe it could be useful. Good luck!
I feel like Angel of Destiny would be broken in an Aurelia deck or any deck that revolves around extra combat steps
Yea that does sound good. But minor life gain also helps it. Not even a lot just incidental
So... I love Maskwood nexus. The All Tribe tribal inspired me to think of all sorts of ideas.
While looking through my paper collection I came across Gishath.
My first thought was, “Gishaths Angelic Dinosaurs”
If you have time I’d love your take on a similar deck! (Also thought of Atla in the command zone but gishath is more stomps)
Yeah any of the tribal decks can be put on steroids with maskwood nexus. Ive been tinkering with Munda allies and a few off tribe creaturs with maskwood nexus, aurelia, moraug and emeria shepherd.
No punts congrats
Thanks! Ate my wheaties this morning.
There should've been more Samut creature cards, as is the creature is way better than the Planeswalker counterpart
I agree
I think birds of paradise and arbor elf would be better than the 2 dorks in the current list: being able to tap for all your colours and the added synergy between arbor elf and the ramp enchantments is probably worth 1 less power
Yea I've thought bout birds and arbor elf. I don't have all the swords. I do just want to en able to swing. Hutbyea birds probably should be in there. Armor elf. Is meh. I personally don't like it in 3 for decks.
Getting the second trigger off isn't correct (pursuant to rule 800.4e) due to Double Strike, but MODO intentionally allows you to get combat damage triggers off people who leave/lose the game so as to prevent salt scoops denying you an important trigger/lifegain. It means this happens on occasion, but the system isn't robust enough to both accurately represent the rules and prevent salt scoops from screwing up the game.
Yeah, its better this way to prevent the salt scoops. Much rarer to have things trigger when they arent supposed to.
The mono black deck didn't play most of the removal, despite your perceptions on the matter...
Probably true. I just needed something catchy to sell the video.
Am I high? How TF does this deck have access to white?!
Activated ability cost
@@mentalist615 Ooh, that's cut off in the card preview. I had the same question.
It has a white ability
Activated abilities count toward color identity in commander.
Lol I said same thing. I had to pull the card up and I still didn't see it at first!
❤️❤️❤️
Maybe i'm in the minority here, but I seriously dislike it when the intro of a video is a preview of the same video. Like i'm here to watch the whole thing, I don't need your spoilers.
You should see what it does for audience retention tho, it’s one of the single most impactful changes I’ve made. Sorry you don’t like it, but I have to play the game the way it wants to be played.
