Interesting option Simon. We only vulcanise in the factory and won't change that but for restorers a slip on, at half price, sounds like a great option. I guess the only quick way to test the durability would be to build a test platform and run both options alongside each other and see what happens. Sounds like something your local university engineering department might be keen to do.

Yep sure is a good option for the DIY and might be a decent option. Will be testing on my personal mower to see how they stack up.
