Do you want to use it in a batucada group? Most tamborims are metal and loud. For playing the virado, it would be nice if you buy a light one. Tamborims from Gope, Contemporanea, RMV are always good.

You can find them cheap in used Music /Guitar Stores...I bought two for just $15...nobody knows what they are....
