If the taxpayers money was used to improve the country instead of the vast military interests this would not be. Now people can understand what kind of mismanagement aided in the downfall of the Roman Empire.

I think the problem is more entrenched than just reducing military spending, although there is a valid argument for that. If you look at any of the streets such as in Philly and many places in California, such as Oakland or 'Frisco one of the biggest drivers for homelessness and crime, is opioid addiction. Some areas the people on the streets look like zombies. Many of those people led normal lives, until they were PRESCRIBED opioids by their doctor.
That is symptomatic of the problem in the US. Those opioids were made available to patients that never should have had access to them for one simple reason, GREED

@@Ozvideo1959 I am a resident of California and it’s ALL drugs, including opioids. The list of drugs used in this state that people get high on is quite long. But I do agree with your statement. I do feel that the military budget is just too big though. Can’t we learn how to get along as human beings ? If not, eventually something catastrophic will happen. It’s inevitable !

@@ToniDuke-s7k I get what you're saying regarding the drug problems. I'm Australian, and thankfully drugs like Oxycontin, crack cocaine and Fentanyl have never been an issue here. We have homeless too, pretty much every city in the world does. But we don't have the encampments that the US does. And we don't have the massive disparity between what are considered "good neighborhoods" and the way the poorer areas look.
And it would be great if countries could all get along, or at least resolve their differences peacefully, but given the problems in the middle east, Ukraine, and a lot of other parts of the world, I'd say, sadly, no we can't.

In the USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. @venezzrok-fz1du I respectfully disagree. In most cases of liberal, high-taxed cities, the results are poor government services and people who are more poor compared to lower-taxed cities. The reason is clear. When you give the government more of your money, they, in turn, give you back as little as possible that they can get away with. When you let people keep more of their money, more privatization occurs, resulting in much more efficient and superior services and at lower costs. There are always exceptions to any rule, and perhaps the Netherlands is a rare exception. But, the rule is still true. The higher the taxes, the worse the public services are, and the more poverty exists.

So, as the ship is sinking, they are rushing around telling the passengers that there's nothing to worry about, they have the situation well in hand and under control, nothing to see here, just go and enjoying your cocktails, Knapps and continue dancing. When the President of Mainland China had attended a summit somewhere in California in about October 2023 or November 2023, jut before that summit, a few more plane loads of homeless people of California were shifted to a lesser known island in Hawaii. Too much hubris, too much nanophosphor, too much arrogance and belief in its "greatness" leads to stagnation. China once did that when it regarded itself as the "Middle Kingdom", the center of all civilization and the Manchurian Imperial Court fostered and cultivated that self-illusion even against the evidence of more industrial advancements from the West. When the kingdom fell, the devastation was immensely huge across the entire nation, culturally, religiously, and politically with the death of tens of millions and the loss of its treasures and "face", bringing in the "century of humiliation". China has learned its lesson and to this day, despite its' rise, refuses to admit it and still classifies itself as a: developing nation" with much to learn still.
The Bible has words of wisdom in Proverbs when it warned against pride and how it can lead to falls. It is such=h a pity that more do not heed o believe in it and are headed for a very, very big fall.
Will the U.S. ever wake up and learn that it is stupid to go around screaming, "America Number 1" while ignoring all of it societal ills without actually doing something to fic them? Blind people walking a straight line can fall off the cliff when they get to a bend in the road.

@@MicheleLLOYD-bk2mt Exactly! The problems of homelessness, etc were all there a long time before Obama, Trump and Biden. Anyone remember the U.S. sub-prime mortgage that led in turn to the GFC - Global Financial Crises - that forced many homeowners out of their homes and into the streets? Under whose Presidency and Administration did that begin the downfall? sure - neither Obama, trump nor Biden have been able to fix the problem, but it all started several presidents ago, going back as far as the Nixon years, exacerbated along the way by the Clinton years and hurried along by the two Bushes years.
U.S. homelessness, drug problems, unemployment problem, crime rate, street violence, etc all did not magically appear overnight. Every single one of the politicians placed into positions of authority had the responsibility of solving those problems or at least, prevent them from happening or enacting national acts to reduce or slow them down - but most did not, holding themselves unaccountable, some with greater irresponsibility than others. They blame the problems all on the common people and even tried to dissociate themselves from having anything to do with fixing them. One wonders, if this is the case, why do we even need a government for when they are not expected to govern?

Those of us living in 3rd world sh*thole countries just find it difficult to comprehend this level of poverty and crime in the world's richest country. It is still probably the best country to live in for upward mobility hence the endless queues of people desperate to go to America.

Great place to go - if you are young, healthy, and wealthy. Not so good if you are old, have underlying health issues and not so financially well-off. Fantastic place to visit if you are unafraid of being shot at random - and by the police for looking the wrong way or making the wrong move in your car. Terrific country to go - to theme parks, live in fantasy land in Hollywood which creates illusions.
The U.S. has weaved a cloth so beautiful for the rest of the world to see that they bought it, without realizing that the cloth is only a facade that has hidden the real picture behind it on the other side.

@@George-rj4fj the getting shot part is scary but I live in South Africa, lots of crime here, so it can’t be any worse. At least in the US they have a functioning law enforcement. I love my country but it’s a crap-hole - crime ridden, corrupt government, uncontrolled immigration, crumbling infrastructure, economy in freefall.

You cannot compare houses, the prices are simply not affordable. However, the reason why there are so many people on the streets and so much crime is due to the fentalino epidemic, a drug that has become very popular.

As for crime....stop protesting on behalf of criminals!! All of this is our fault...can't blame everything on politicians.

That's what happens when people are allowed to buy property and constantly resell at higher prices ! In falsely inflates the price of properties then your average family's can no longer live on a normal wage . Governments need to step in and put a house limit on how many houses people can buy in their life time ! No one needs more then 4 houses in their life . This way others have a chance to buy houses ! House flippers need to become a thing on the past it's destroying the dreams of many . Greed must end people don't need to own or have so much . We should not have so many homeless while others own so much property. We need change and fast !

In the U.S., they want even less Government fingers involved in their society (e.g. "States Rights, etc.). The people want the leaders they want, the people get the leaders they want, the people get exactly what they want. Simple. As long as the citizens are involved in popularity contests and choose by the cover of the book than what is inside according to merit, they will always get the bus driver in charge of captaining their cruise liner.
