      I agree that's what I saw also, Judge was walking away just said it was a bad call but the incompetent umpire with his ego threw him out. It's all about the ego's with these officials. I remember watching an NBA game the Spurs Tim Duncan was sitting on the bench not even aurguing but shaking his head and laughing because it was such a bad call, but the ref threw him out just for that. These ref or umps when their ego's get hurt they throw out anyone they please without any accountibility.

    • @MylotheZooLovingScientist

      Yeah, as far as I can tell, based on all the replays and audio YES's feed provided, Judge said, "God damn it, are you fucking kidding me? That's bullshit man, you've been bullshit all game." Didn't see the earlier innings so I don't know how (in)consistent the home plate ump's strike zone was. But either way, you know players have said way worse to umpires and been way more in-their-face about it. Soft ejection.

      The rest of the story is that judge then said “you’ve been bs all day” which is what got him rightfully tossed, not for arguing balls and strikes but using profanity to attack the ump. Had he just left it as “bs man”, he would have been fine.

    Until then Hockey is by far the best sport. There is always a winner. It's physical. Fights are allowed. Games are always close. You NEVER see a bad call by a ref. There is still old school respect in that game. Players have a hand shake line. It basically has the best of all sports in it. It's criminal it's not the #1 sport but it's probably for the best. If the money ever got big it would ruin what makes hockey so great because that's what ruined every other sport.

I don't think full on robot unps are the option but the umpires should have an earwig in and someone at a computer should be telling them ball or strike because you still need a home plate umpire for other things but balls and strikes can be seen by everyone watching the game with the strike zone technology so why they're not using that in game I don't understand.

    I understand if they're getting in their faces and getting physical and just causing an all out scene, then, yeah, get them out of the game. But, just for being aggravated or disagreeing with a call. Most of the time the player is walking away, like shown here. Maybe they say something under their breath, who cares. Come on, guys. You know that little box isn't official, right? It's different for every channel you're watching, only accounts of the front edge of the plate, and doesn't adjust for the height of the batters. KZone itself has been measured to be off by as much as a half inch which in this case could easily make that a ball. To the naked eye it does look like a ball, even with the fact that the centerfield camera is off center. This was a good framing job by the catcher, nothing more.

    • @keith3915
      @keith3915 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@MikeSchmidt969 well for one it does adjust to the height of the batter, but Im under no misconception that the y-xis of the zone is perfectly accurate. Until you have been behind the plate and seen what a Major League pitch looks like and how quick of a decision you have to make then many of the comments made are out if line. I agree that there are many times when spectators and players react to what they think is a bad call. In the replay the ball paints the strike zone. The entire ball does not have to be inside the white box. If even a lace of the ball is in the white then it is a strike. I am a current umpire and we have the best angle in the house. If a catcher sets up outside and the pitcher throws a ball right at his chest everyone in the ballpark expects a strike. Unfortunately many times it's not because of where the catcher set up.
    Aaron in this case was rung up correctly and if in doubt foul it off to live another pitch.
