    Yakoo couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Dad than the one who adopted him. Talk about a match made in heaven, this beautiful and lucky dog has everything a pup could dream of, love, devotion, protection and a life of exploring a world he can experience in special ways. I wish them both a long and happy life full of fun, adventure and love.💕

      I bet this will be the last dog he has for a long long time. I used to foster and rescue dogs, and I ended up with some VERY special dogs because I had so many fosters. One went blind from glaucoma, the other one had live cancer, but it was benign for 6 years. I loved doing rescue, I loved my dogs, great to hand out with them, but when they died, part of my ability to feel died.

      This is how all forms of love should be. You should always think -- how can I give something of myself to others that they can't otherwise provide to themselves.
      Unfortunately, in the selfish age in which we live, there's a mass delusion which was inflicted upon us for the profit of parasites. The delusion being 2-fold: first, that everyone is here to ruthlessly compete with one another. The second, that the competition is a zero sum game.
      It's the pathology which inflicts every prosperous society because only in wasteful times can you con people into wasting their lives on beliefs which require luxury to sustain.
      Very few people can see though the smokescreen. You know these people by the simplicity in which they strive to exist.

    I'm disabled and I love this guy. He understood that it was up to him to educate himself about his dog's needs. Instead of expecting the dog to adapt to a sighted and hearing world, which would likely be impossible, the man adapted his *own* behaviours to his dog's world! Wouldn't it be wonderful if able-bodied people educated themselves about disabled people's needs and adapted to them?

      When he was advised that Yakoo wouldn’t able to do anything because of his disability, it broke my heart. It really did make me think “what if they also said that about a disabled person?”. The assumption that people should do less/or not try to do much at all because it’d be a lot easier than to put in effort is just sad.

    • @CharlotteIssyvoo
      @CharlotteIssyvoo 2 года назад +4

      @@REChronic54 They often do tell parents that their disabled children will not be able to do anything. What they really mean is that they won't be able to do anything because the world refuses to make disability accommodations for disabled people. If the law were applied, and the world were truly accessible, I would be able to do many of the same things everyone else does: Go into stores, use restrooms, go to restaurants. The problem is not my disability. The problem is inaccessibility. It's just the same with this dog: Do what he needs and he can have a great life.

      I have 2 dogs from a rescue that does mostly rescues of impaired dogs. "Impaired? We don't care!!" is their slogan, but it is meant as impaired does NOT mean that we cannot live our lives fully. They specialize in helping blind &/or deaf, often due to double Merle breeding, which appears to be what has happened with this beautiful dog. But they also help puppy mill and hoarder rescues, who have serious fear issues, dogs that have missing limbs, medical issues, etc. It is amazing what these dogs (ALL of them) can accomplish. They can live full and rewarding lives if just given a chance.

    We had a deaf, albino boxer named Ice when I was growing up. My brother got his first job at 15 years old and saved every penny so he could purchase her. We would stomp on the floor by her to awaken her and used hand signals to train her and "talk" to her. She was an amazing dog, extremely intelligent little girl. Unfortunately, a neighbor had gotten a puppy but didn't have an adequate yard for her so she wandered into our yard frequently. Ice ended up getting Parvo from the puppy. Our vet said being that she was albino, her immune system wasn't very strong to begin with so she just couldn't fight it and she passed away. As far as I knew, she was current on her shots and had received the Parvo shot but she still contracted it and passed. Ice taught us more than we could have ever taught her and she was an awesome girl. It takes patience and time but these dogs are wonderful and worth every moment. God bless this man, I am so thankful they have each other. I feel as though animals are angels that the Lord sent to love us unconditionally and help us through the most difficult times in our lives.

    When I was a teenager, there was a blind and deaf Australian shepherd my mom and I wanted to adopt so badly, but the shelter refused to let us have her. We were the only ones (from what we had been told) who wanted to adopt her and take the time to properly learn how to take care of her. She was the cutest and sweetest little girl. Been over 20 years and I still periodically think of her - I always prayed that she found a good and loving family, like Yakoo here. Beautiful story.

I was speechless at the lack of brain cell's of the staff who told me no. By the way fun fact coyote are very smart and they will not come close to a human from my experience's. “We, as humans, have to figure out what they want to tell us.” Truer words have never been spoken. They speak VOLUMES everyday…and when we humble ourselves and listen and watch and learn and love…ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I am convinced humans would be extinct if it wasn’t for our canine. And they continue to pull us through our worst times with no judgement. We don’t deserve them but they don’t care. They just love.

    I have a deaf-blind cockerdoodle who was born deaf but became blind from abuse and neglect. She was wandering in the street and a neighbor brought her to me. I just wish people understood how little their disabilities affect these dogs. Dogs need so little to be happy and they are so trainable and adaptable. Rescues need to stop discouraging people from adopting these wonderful animals. All they need is a little patience and a lot of love and they can have full and happy lives just like any other dog.
