Don't give up! Someone ditched a deaf kitten in my yard in the snow. I thought she was maybe 8 weeks old. Turned out, she was a year old (just severely malnourished). My vet diagnosed her with FIP and FELV (both non-treatable and fatal) and gave her 2 weeks to live. She lived to be 11 years old. I can only attribute it to the miraculous power of love.

I rescued a kitten who was attacked by dogs and had a fractured hind leg and multiple puncture wounds. I was also told that he had a heart murmur and would not live more than two years and was advised to put him down. Something inside me felt otherwise and treated him for his wounds and infections and now he is a beautiful strong 8 year old boy 💕 A little love and care goes a long way. A lot of love makes miracles.

I’d be all day telling you stories about people ( males) I’ve worked with who tell me about their hatred for cats and what they would do to them. They don’t get by with it either, they get an earful and then some. I have 20+ cats and 99% were dumped on me and my husband, the other 1% were born from a feral mother.
Same here. A few times, we took very sick barn kitties home years ago. Told by by vets each time,kitties wouldn't live long and should be euthanized. I told them no each time,and said you dont kill people with Aids, so animals are no different. One lived over 6 years. They also lived with our other cats. Not a single cat got the FIV from them. We kept things clean, etc. Every life is precious and deserves a chance.

Our Boxer was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 12. We were told he had 6-12 months. With Majie's age, the vet recommended just taking Rovera daily. Well, Maj lasted until he was 15.5 years old. He was a true miracle, all the years we were blessed with him. God is good.
What a beautiful story. This made me cry cause I too have a "son" with cancer. My fur baby has it in his brain so it's inoperable so we are making every day the best day we can for him. I think I've made him a spoiled booger but I wouldn't have it any other way, lol. Blessings to you and your baby.

I know, I know that sounds weird but it made me evaluate everything and to try to be as present as I can be with him. We have definitely changed a lot of things to make sure we enjoy every day we have with him. It's his world and we are just living in it. Lol. He is a very very spoiled boxer baby. Well my baby but he's technically 9 lol. It was a wake up call to slow down and enjoy life, not just go thru the paces. I guess that's my silver lining. Blessings to you.

I was hiking once when a 3-legged dog came flying down the trail. He was in and out of the ravine and all over the place. His poor owner couldn't keep up. Didn't slow him down a bit that he was missing a leg. I think Ozzy is going to be just the same. 😀
I fostered a hospice pup with osteosarcoma... he lived for an additional 10 months in spite of the shelter saying he would pass within a few days... you are truly an angel for your pup. Thank you for what you do for him ❤️
Hard not to tear up listening to this young woman. She's saved this pup twice now. Glad there are so many good memories for her to hold on to when Ozzie eventually needs to say good bye.

A dog in my neighborhood had a front leg amputated. She was slowed down quite a bit at first, but now is moving a lot faster and seems to be in good spirits. It’s heartwarming to see her come back from a serious illness.

Ozzie will definitely benefit from physical therapy dates. Three-legged dogs shift the weight to their other limbs and change their gait accordingly. A nice massage and accupuncture would help those muscles relax. Thank you for sticking with him when the going gets tough

It is heartwarming to see people who care so deeply about their animal family they will not just be there for their furry babies but they will go the extra mile to make sure their time is filled with quality living. You can't explain that to people who don't love animals. I know. I have tried.
The dog I had in 6th grade was hit by a car at about a year old and lost his front leg. There was never any question about saving him, it was unspoken but understood. He lived to be 19. In his prime he ran faster on 3 legs. But we didn't have cancer. We also met, over those years, about a half-dozen other dogs in our local area missing a leg for a variety of reasons, just as loved by their families as we loved ours. I'm so glad you kept him and saved him.

My beautiful brave boy was diagnosed with a tumor on his spleen in August of 2020. After surgery and blood transfusion and a roller coaster of ups and downs due to internal bleeds, we lost him a mere 2 months later. I wouldn’t have made any different decision that first day. I simply said do WHATEVER you have to do to save my baby. I don’t care what it costs, just don’t let him die. They said removing his spleen could buy us 1 more day or 5 more years or anything in between. I was really praying for years but it was not to be. RIP Bandit. Your amber eyes are forever burned into my soul and I miss you every day!
In one way I hated to see this because of the bad luck this great pup was given, but on the other hand, his bad luck brought out the very best in a couple of human beings that gave him the best life possible. Just wondering if Ozzie would be a candidate for a prosthetic leg. He looks so great after going thru so much. A real trooper, as are you and your family. We have two three legged older cats who get along very well. Of course, they weigh a whole lot less than Ozzie so the impact isn't as much on their front body, but it is relevant. There are makers of prosthetics for animals, and the results that I've seen of the improvement in movement are amazing. Animals adapt well to their artificial limbs, walking and running become nearly natural, also relieving the pressure on the remaining limb. If you haven't already, it's worth a try to investigate a prosthetic leg for your kid. I had tears in my eyes watching a GeoBeats video yesterday, and today, for the second day in a row, I teared up again. This dog is blessed with a wonderful and goodheated couple, along with another dog and cat who loves him. What more could you ask for in life, being surrounded by love. Bravo!

Ozzie will definitely benefit from physical therapy dates. Three-legged dogs shift the weight to their other limbs and change their gait accordingly. A nice massage and accupuncture would help those muscles relax. Thank you for sticking with him when the going gets tough

It is heartwarming to see people who care so deeply about their animal family they will not just be there for their furry babies but they will go the extra mile to make sure their time is filled with quality living. You can't explain that to people who don't love animals. I know. I have tried.

The dog I had in 6th grade was hit by a car at about a year old and lost his front leg. There was never any question about saving him, it was unspoken but understood. He lived to be 19. In his prime he ran faster on 3 legs. But we didn't have cancer. We also met, over those years, about a half-dozen other dogs in our local area missing a leg for a variety of reasons, just as loved by their families as we loved ours. I'm so glad you kept him and saved him.

Our animal family members live such short lives to begin with. It’s a lot to accept when the news isn’t good. My heart goes out to your family including and your pup’s dog sibling who looks like the grief will be real. Thank you for sharing what this is like for all of you, and for the cool things you’ve done for your dog during the time he has/had left. I think that was important for him and all of you.

My boy started limping recently and I noticed him having a little trouble going up and down stairs at times. This just gave me a reality check. I'm taking him to the vets as soon as I can to get him checked out.

My beautiful brave boy was diagnosed with a tumor on his spleen in August of 2020. After surgery and blood transfusion and a roller coaster of ups and downs due to internal bleeds, we lost him a mere 2 months later. I wouldn’t have made any different decision that first day. I simply said do WHATEVER you have to do to save my baby. I don’t care what it costs, just don’t let him die. They said removing his spleen could buy us 1 more day or 5 more years or anything in between. I was really praying for years but it was not to be. RIP Bandit. Your amber eyes are forever burned into my soul and I miss you every day!
In one way I hated to see this because of the bad luck this great pup was given, but on the other hand, his bad luck brought out the very best in a couple of human beings that gave him the best life possible. I'm so grateful to people with hearts and feelings that actually propel them to do something and make this world a better place. May God bless this whole family. Oh I’m in tears , I love my dogs so much and I have this connection with one of them it’s like very unique . I will died if something happens to him . I understand your pain people who loved their animals we know how you feel .
Just wondering if Ozzie would be a candidate for a prosthetic leg. He looks so great after going thru so much. A real trooper, as are you and your family. We have two three legged older cats who get along very well. Of course, they weigh a whole lot less than Ozzie so the impact isn't as much on their front body, but it is relevant. There are makers of prosthetics for animals, and the results that I've seen of the improvement in movement are amazing. Animals adapt well to their artificial limbs, walking and running become nearly natural, also relieving the pressure on the remaining limb. If you haven't already, it's worth a try to investigate a prosthetic leg for your kid.
