70 MPH Winds Kotzebue, Alaska

On this day, it was necessary for me to walk to work. Kotzebue had a serious storm blowing into the area creating large snow drifts on the roads. Our company car is tiny and unable to plow through the drifts. I geared up and headed out the door. I am no stranger to bad weather and have had to walk in storms many times. As a child in Emmonak, AK we had to walk to school no matter the weather conditions. I walked through much worse than this as a kid. Come join me and my thoughts as I walk to work in this horrific blizzard.
