I live since 14 years on Oahu, Hawaii and I love living in Hawaii but, the only season that I truly miss is autumn. Turning leaves, pumpkins and all else that comes with fall. So what I do is for 2 weeks annually I travel to the mainland to experience the autumn season. This year I went to Germany, and Washington state. This way, I get my fall fix and I’m good for the year.
Hello Eric and Julie!!! What have you done??!!! Now that I was almost decided to move to Big Island... you show me this Aspen trees, the Lake Tahoe,... what do I do now? I also like seasons!!! Actually, I love this video, it's shows the internal feelings and questions we all have before moving to another place, be it Hawaii or somewhere else. Personally I do like seasons, but like Eric said, I don't like the cold. Well, I like it,...but not for so long. I would like 1 month of winter, just to have the sensation of winter time, stay indoors, fireplace, roasting chesnuts (I don't think is so typical in US, but I am in Europe), hot chocolate, introspection, snow, hibernation,..that's it for one month. the rest should be divided, specially between spring and summer (specially Summer in Hawaiian beach). 😊 I think that Lake Tahoe, the desert, and Big Island they all have a particular spiritual energy that calls a type of person (me being one of them), doesn't matter the weather. It's something intangible. I'm smiling, three of the places that I "feel", you also felt. And since you asked, I will share my fourth: Formentera. It's special. It has nothing to do with HI, North CA or desert. It's different. It calls you (or not). Thank you for being open about your choice, that even though you like seasons, you still like Hawaii, his weather, and specially its energy, much more. 💗
Thank you for your honesty. I have been living on the Big Island for 5 weeks now. I can say with all honesty that I will not miss Whidbey Island where I called home. And no Island fever. I came from a small island and seldom left except to go to Costco. I love the fact that the cold and dampness are not seizing my bones and I can enjoy the weather year long. You two are the perfect examples of the best of Hawaii living and brief visits to the West Coast as a reminder of why you left. Love your channel. You always have great adventures!
Mother nature is beautiful no matter where you are at. But there is something special about the big island. Lived there for 7 years, never did get island fever. But eventually the economy led me back to Washington state. Now I live in the high desert of Arizona and it too is an amazing place.
Aloha, we are arriving on the Big Island November 9 for a weeks vacation. So excited to enjoy your lovely home for a few days. We rented a condo at The Waikoloa resort area. Your videos are a helpful vacation planning resource. Thanks for what you do!
Hey guy's so I grew up in Sedona. We are in the Pacific North West now. We did make the annual trip to the Sedona vortex to see family. And I went to college in Nevada City. My spiritual community in Ananda Village. But Kona my friends is a very special place on this earth. I did leave my blue heart in Kealekekua. When we get back let's meet for tea or something. Our real estate venture worked out great by the way. Managed to actually make money. Inadvertently. All these beautiful places we have also cherished and I feel a cosmic connection with you guy's as fleeting as the moment is. May we meet on the shores of the Island in the sky. You Guy's would love a Stay for a night, at the Manago. Top floor. the View of endless sky and sea and no space in between will amaze you. Then the sun goes to sleep and the night sky comes alive. It is a little rustic but you will love it. Stay on a Saturday night and the best Kona Pure Farmers Market will be hoppin on Sunday! In the dance of life, Michelle Knight

Did you see our Best Malasadas on the Big Island video? Tex's Drive Inn malasada's are tasty...but Punulu'u Bakery lilikoi are the bomb diggity! Lol
I would never have island fever. We are already freezing here in Detroit. 25 more years for my retirement on the big island!!!!!!!
