Thank you so much for this reaction 🙏 I LOVED it from the start. Fairytale classic theme, taken from the dark and olden days. The stepmother eventually transforms her into a wolf and banishes her to live her life alone in the dark forest. The only way she can end the curse is by drinking her brother's blood. - WOW, the portrayal the singer, Gunnhild, gives this character is just epic and chilling to the bone - in all the right ways. Captivating! The girl is singing for her life, thus the edgy rawness to her vocals - it is part of a style plus a truckload of emotions - so I get sad when I see comments that calls her "vocal crying" shouting. I have HIGH HOPES for this one at Eurovision. Absolute MAGIC.

@@randompodcastek I can not speak Finnish, but as a Sami (who can not speak Sami either, but have heard it a lot), I actually could hear it was not Finnish, and was surprised Hungarian is so close, even if the words are different.

@@ahkkariq7406 Yeah, as we hungarian hear, we think we're totally different from finnish so it's so interesting hearing that from other people. Once someone said maybe I spoke in estonian so people from other countries could hear better the similaritites 😁

The instrument in the beginning is called a "nøkkelharpe" keyharp. Its a traditional instrument used in both Norway and Sweden.
The lyrics tell a 1000 year old folklore about an evil stepmother turning her into a wolf and she has to wondwr the forrest alone. And the only way she can break the curse is to drink her brothers blood.

    Nice reaction👍
I absolutely love this song and performance, so glad we’re sending Gåte to Malmö😍🤘
    English lyrics:
    [Sample: Vocalization; Marit Jensen Lillebuen]
    [Verse 1]
I was such a beautiful maiden
My stepmother evil, my mother she died
She turned me into a sword and a needle
And sent me to the king's estate
And the anger my stepmother felt the most
That all the stately liked me best
    [Chorus: Vocalization]
    [Verse 2]
Then she gave me skin like a grey wolf
She cursed me to walk the forest alone
And never will I bе whole and good
Before I drink my brothеrs' blood
    [Chorus: Vocalization]
    [Outro: Vocalization, Storm]
I then tore out her heart
    So her blood flowed free
Then I got to drink my brothers' blood

I hope this will set the standard for future esc songs - real advanced music. Im done with the "fun and stupid - easy pop freakshow) type of esc. Let bring Gaate to the world and let artist compete. Also, find their other albums. The first album "Jugri" is awesome. Thanks

This reaction was a very neutral and positive one, firstly NO songs or music is odd strange whatever. I think you have pointed it out well that it is a mythological song\experience. Many of the Norse myth IS in the heart very dark. If anyone believes that singing in tune is better than out of tune then these people do not know music. Personally I think this is an artistic form of music, its like free expression and YES Norse music, the traditional ones can have LOADS of screaming, herding, in some ways voicing the animistic worlds, A mythical being isnt human so its not supposed to sound human. Personally I am happy that this song made it. The band has enough supporters as they have been around a long time. The songs Kjærleik (the original one not the acoustic one though the acoustic one is also grand) and Svik are among my absolute favorites. Greetings from Norway

Thank you so much for sharing your opinion. Yeah it was kinda neutral, in this case I'd like to know better the song firstly to create a whole opinion. What you said, it had a lots of news, that's why I like whe people sharing with me their thoughts-esoecially if it's personal. I wish you ggod luck in Eurovision, I really hope you'll get a great result and you'll show a new way to the other countries! Greetings from Hungary!
