Thank you. Zenyatta is proof why horses should not be ridden and raced before three. I have so much respect for her owners to have waited to race her. The fact that she was a six year old mare racing against three year old stud colts and beat all but one of their butts proves that holding off is best. Too many greedy, uncaring breeders out there, and the poor horses pay for it. RIP Barbaro (one sad example)
I hate greedy breeders. They are driven by money. I've always asked myself why these horses have to produce so many foals when starting their breeding careers. The horse can't talk and say no. My answer always comes back to greed. I understand that breeders want the line to continue. However I believe that can be accomplished without the production of hundred of foals. It's all about the money 😢
Zenyatta - what a character, pure magic to watch! Her owners loved her, making sure her priceless limbs remained sound and pain-free throughout her career. So good to know that. ❤
I felt the same as you until I spent a summer working at Arlington Racecourse. These horses LOVE their jobs, and the ones that don't, won't win. It doesn't matter how talented a horse is, if he doesn't want it then hes not going to even place. These horses got tacked up every morning for exercise and they WANTED to run, they couldn't wait to get to the track. Every horse in our string told us by their behaviour whether they wanted to race or not. They all did.
Zendayatta you are shaking it up inHeaven! You loved to.take selfies; she loved to be o spotlight; she loved to beat the boys up on horse race! She was a champion! She leaves behind ponies! She already retired she was living in a farm; when their was an accident that had occurred she felt back wards she broke her back; she died instantly onthe spot; i am watching this video November/ Autumn 2024! The Holidays Are Approaching?😢😢😢😢😢❤
I could watch this video 10,000 times and I'd still have the same reaction. Our girl Zenyatta grooving to More Bounce to the Ounce. This girl had it all,: her amazing speed, the element of surprise when she came in from behind, in all her races, then overtaking the race in the final stretch. Her amazing strength tested alongside thoroughbred stallions much larger than she, and her personality which was adorable
Zenyatta reminded me of most top athletes who have a "routine" they go through getting ready for big event. Hers was dancing! I love Zenyatta! She was magic to watch!
Mari M. What I have read about Zenyatti is that is a very gentle horse. Most Thorobreds are high strung but she is laid back until she is going yo the gate.
Her tongue is out because it is tied with a string to keep in out of the way while she runs. Jockeys do NOT pull on the horses mouth continuously, especially when the horse is lead out to the starting gate, the job of slowing the horse is up the the Ponyer (the man on the other horse next to her)
By tying their tongue it prevents them from accidentally having it go OVER the bit while racing. It's just cloth. It's removed as soon as the horse returns from racing - you'll see the grooms go over immediately and take it out of the horse's mouth.
I SIMPLY ADORE THIS, if this is not our Baby Girl, I don't know what is, Great work Ashton, Love, Michele. P.S. I pray to your Mom everyday, I simply loved Kari, M.
In a way you Are Right! But its only love care and Heart That Makes a Champion! If people wanted money from there horses They would keep racing There Horses but A Thoroughbred gets to retire at 4-6 years old! Not a long career! Then they go to retirement! Like Man O' War had a daily Gallop every morning! And Eddie Sweat and Secertariat!!! Only True love and connection!! But I do feel bad for Kentucky Derby Winner Ferdinand who was put to Slaughter!!! :( RIP :(
a lot of race horses tend to put their toungs over the bit so you cant control them while riding, so the trainers carefully tie the horses toung down and out so that they cant do that and the jockies don't loose control over the horse.

i think that tongue-band and the mouth-piece causes her massive pain. that`s also the reason why she sticks her tongue out. this is a way how horses try to avoid the pain that the tongue-band and the mouth piece cause. with her "dancing" she tries to express that something is disturbing her (tongue-band and also the painful mouthpiece).
First time I saw her race she was shakin' her bootie, I thought uh oh, what is wrong with this horse. I think that was her 8th race. I saw pretty quick that she was just Zenyatta!
actually it's her getting excited from what's in her blood years of concentrated fire also when horse is anxious and knows it's time to do their job they get excited and may paw the ground as if to say "let's go... let's do this"...but obviously you know from personal exp. you know because you bred ,raised, and trained and know her every thought and pattern.... obviously...
No, not all. If people didn't race the thoroughbreds they wouldn't grow properly and their knees would snap. Thoroughbreds aren't bred for jumping or any other sport. racing to me is the greatest sport for the thoroughbred. Don't you see? Racing is an Important part for thoroughbreds. If the thoroughbreds couldn't race, Snap goes their knees. *true story happened to my friend.*I race thoroughbreds and I never send them to slaughter after retirement. I have claimed a few that have been abused.
I think happyhobbit is more correct here. It could be a combination of nervous energy and frustration. If you watch the owners at her last race they were trying to get the crowd not to work her up so she wouldn't wear herself out before the race. Sure she knows what's coming, and I don't doubt she enjoyed racing, but to say she did this only because she was excited to get going is a little ignorant.
Awesome Video of "The Queen of Dancing" :) Check out "WinStar Stablemates" website of their newest dancer, a 2014 filly by Cheap Perfume by Drosselmeyer. Not only can she dance but she "Jumps & Leaps" in the air !!
no offense that isnt really dancing its just her getting excited and happyhobbits right they only do it for money thats why so many get sent to slaughter or retiremnt because they either where bad ant it or were racing for a while
EquineVids227 This mare let me tell you was not bad at racing. She won 19 straight of 20 lifetime starts and only lost her last start by a nose, A NOSE! She also wasn’t sent to slaughter after, she has a happy retirement life at the farm who bought her from the auction as a yearling. She has a website and Instagram page dedicated to her if you don’t believe me

Kari Mortenson True holding off on racing Z was the best choice, so her skeletal structure could mature properly before her debut

Different breeds are bred for different talents and Thoroughbred horses are bred to run. All the time and as fast as they can. It is in their genes.
She is a magnific dancer!!! Love Zenyatta!!!
Love this horse miss seeing her race but glad she is able to lead a wonderful pain free life.great video.
Sheila French Better she retired than hurt herself or breakdown and be killed
My smile stretched from ear to ear as I watched. Zenyatta was truly one of a kind, never to be forgotten.
This is a great tribute - music rocks!!

What a dancer..I just love her, she makes me smile

Zenny is beautiful and the horse u got at an auction turned out to luv u and her foal congrats owners and foal of ZENNYATTA
she looks like she has a wonderful disposition , she has very kind eyes!
Mari M. What I have read about Zenyatti is that is a very gentle horse. Most Thorobreds are high strung but she is laid back until she is going yo the gate.
everyone says she's dancing, but I think she's telling the competition that she's "going to stomp them into the dirt, like this!"
That pawing at the ground means shes anxious actually
Just wonderful Superb , I love it
She like to move it move it! Champion racer and dancer does she give lessons!

She isn't unruly.....She just preformed.....she loved her job!!! Really big mare!!!! You boys look how is done!!!
well she practically does Spanish walk
Oh Zenyatta
Everything about her is majestic. Can't wait to see her foals grow up beautiful and strong.
Shake those moves girl!
What a neat video! I like the idea of PZ (Prince Z) begging mommy to teach him to dance! So cute!
Zényatta is such a special horse such a personality and runs those races on her terms ❤️
I SIMPLY ADORE THIS, if this is not our Baby Girl, I don't know what is, Great work Ashton, Love, Michele. P.S. I pray to your Mom everyday, I simply loved Kari, M.
I didn't know I needed this until now
0:52 her pony's like "ok darling nice moves but do try to show a little class, mm?"
This horse has swagger.
She's goooood!
Bus to move Zenyatta you queen!

She has that big engine in the back. What an amazing mare!
the music is perfect! lol. love her.
The great Zenyatta, probably the best American female since Ruffian. We love you.
Amazingly Beautiful ❤❤❤
Zenyatta was born to be an entertainer
my favorite part of this whole thing has got to be the last picture, that is a true facial expression of a future king
the prince will just like his mother a Dancing king when he's fully grown
I ❤️ Zenyatta! I ❤️ Gallop!
She knew she would be a star one day thats why she danced look at her and her beautiful colt now:) he will be mommy's Star

I just LOVE Zenny!haha She's a real ham. Looks like her son will be a dancin star, too! ;)
Hey Ashton. This one has your Moma all over it. Really great job!
love the way she walks straight-legged...

Love this!
Dark is lovely and she is a queen! She rocks this song here! Even more ike Smith is my fav Jockey! What an amazing team of champions man!
The Amazon! What a horse!!! ♥
she's the best, ever!
Good Lord Zenyatta is a gorgeous horse
I love it! xoxo
All, or most, race horses have to have their tongue tied so they don't choke during racing because of the bit in their mouth.
I swear she would have made a WONDERFUL dressage horse!!
Put some wings on her she's a supermodel.
First time I saw her race she was shakin' her bootie, I thought uh oh, what is wrong with this horse. I think that was her 8th race. I saw pretty quick that she was just Zenyatta!
She has exatly dominant DNA of Arabic horses for that reason she like to walk on that style dancing 💪💪💪🏆🏆🏆
Holy SHIT this track is perfect for her.
Love it! We can never get enough of Z. and Baby Z.
Hi "SiGN"...lighten up. Life's too short.
was This instinctual? she is truly divine
What music mix is this?!
+donika danika Mega Medley by Zapp and Roger.
That is a race helper. Only the rider knows the name, as that is his personal horse.
The Remix!😂

i belive her colts name is Cosmic
Cosmic One :3
Lucy Flowerhill coZmic one. Z12 is spelt with a Z not a S.
❤❤❤❤❤
Dance, I'd love to. Crush competition? Love to do that too.
What's the foal's name?! D:
Well, I don't own any, I just learn from being at the track and being around peeps who know horses :o)
OOOH Yeah Big Z rocks as HOTY and Big MOMMA! What is the colts name? I think it shuld be Zenny's Boy!
LOL she plays with her tongue
what is her colts name
lisa kuntz cozmic one
The music took away from the video.
hhahaha Zenyatta and her pawing/spanish walk.
Those are fly masks - since the horses can't remove flies from their face, the mask prevents them! :-)
Z should have been a dressage horse! :D

Zenyatta's just too sexy to be on a track. ;D
With how she acts she would have(past tense)
Ohh I see...
There's mesh, so sure they can see :-)
:-) Auntie Judy xoxo
dont forget poor Ruffian
bwhahahahha soo cute
She has her tongue out because she cant feel it from the jockey pulling on her mouth
Boi, learn something about racing or overall horses before commenting!!
Did anyone notice she always had her tongue outt? haha(:
every time she does a dance her tongue is sticking out :)
I just noticed you said a "different type" - whoops! Sorry!
no offense that isnt really dancing its just her getting excited and happyhobbits right they only do it for money thats why so many get sent to slaughter or retiremnt because they either where bad ant it or were racing for a while

no actually more like :p
No...her tongue is tied down so she doen't swollow it during her race, this is a common pratice!!
Not true . . . At all.
You can't swallow your tongue nor can anything. It's attached to the throat.
Kari Mortenson you sure can
Ruffian is still queen of the track not Zennyatta.
Please let there be room for both of them in our hearts. Both are beyond compare.
Ruffian was great, but she didn't hold up, Zenyatta stayed sound & that's equally as important as winning 19 out of 20 races
